Accessing Ford Depot Charging App Software

The Ford Depot Charging App can be accessed by users in two ways:

  1. In FordPro.com Marketplace, the user clicks “Go to App” in the top right corner of the Ford Depot Charging product tile
  2. In Ford Telematics, the user clicks on the three stacked lines on the upper right corner of the screen, then selects “Ford Depot Charging”

The Ford Depot Charging app is used by Ford Pro Charging Specialists, Fleet Managers, Customers, and the Ford Technical Team to keep track of depot groups made by fleet customers as well as the status of vehicles and ports in a specific depot group. The app is composed of the Dashboard tab, Vehicles tab, Charging tab, Services tab, Reports tab, and Configuration tabs.

Vehicles Tab – The vehicles tab shows the list of all the vehicles subscribed under the depot. The user can click the vehicle name to show the vehicle and manufacturing details. The user’s vehicle information is set up at time of onboarding. For admin support, customers can call 1-800-34-FLEET.
Charging Tab – This is where users can see the full details of current and historic charging sessions up to one month prior.
Services Tab – This is where users see the current status of charging port faults reported. Users can filter, download, edit, and delete faults. Users can also customize their fault alerts, view fault remediation steps, change fault status, and more.

  1. Setting alerts – Users can customize alerts using the “Alert settings button” allowing several options for users to select preferred frequency, alert severity and delivery method (email, SMS etc.).
  2. Reporting faults – Charger faults are automatically registered in the software. However, in the rare case a user needs to input a fault manually, they can do this by clicking the Report a Fault button on the upper right-hand corner of the Services screen.

Reporting Tab – Users can view different reports from the Ford Depot Charging App.

  1. Energy Dispensed – Grouped by Dates
  2. Energy Dispensed – Grouped by Vehicles
  3. Energy Dispensed – Grouped by Ports
  4. Reports Subscription – Users can subscribe to any of the reports enumerated above by clicking the “Subscribe” button. A pop-up screen appears which gives the Users an option to select the report frequency, recipient emails, and report name.

Note: Any employee with an email address can be a recipient of the reports.
The User can check all their subscriptions by clicking the “Manage Subscription” button from the Reports landing screen.

Dashboard View

Users can see the real-time summary of their Charging Status for each vehicle, available ports, Energy Delivered, Service Status, and Energy Usage.

Each icon under Charging Status is clickable and displays information about the charging vehicle and port details. The user may also report a charging fault by clicking the triangle icon at the bottom of the vehicle details popup.

Setting your charging mode

Users with admin access may change the Charging Mode for each depot. This option can be found in the upper right corner of the Dashboard.
An Admin User has the option to use Supervised, Fully Automated Charging, or Unmanaged charging mode.

  1. Fully Automated – This option is optimal for fleets with known routes and schedules. This is a seamless charging strategy based on scheduled routes and departure time.

  2. Supervised – Supervised charging is optimal for fleets without predictable routes and schedules. Like in fully automated charging, charging is optimized to reduce energy costs.
However, all vehicles charge according to the same set of controls, i.e. same time windows and/or same amount of charge.

  3. Unmanaged – This mode will not control charging behavior and may result in high peak energy loads with significantly higher energy costs depending on the depot’s utility rates. It allows users to charge freely without controls.

Time-based access controls

In Supervised Charging Mode, users can manage and restrict charging activity at the site level, based on preferred time periods. With time based access controls, users have the ability to set customized, recurring weekly schedules for restricted charging.

Charging schedules can be edited, disabled, or canceled at any time or set to reoccur weekly until a set end date. Time controls will affect all chargers at a given depot.

Note: Time-based access controls can only be set up in Supervised Charging Mode.
