- Handling Precautions
- Before using the camera, it is important to follow these handling precautions:

HANDLING PRECAUTIONS

GENERAL
- This HD CCTV Camera is provided with a High-performance 1/2.5 inch 2.2M CMOS sensor.
- The camera features a built-in optical 10x zoom lens (1/3.6” f=4.5~45.0mm, f1.8~2.2) high resolution, and is equipped with digital DAY/NIGHT function, intelligent backlight compensation by which you can achieve proper Back Light Compensation, Crystal controlled internal sync lock system, Various modes of convenient Automatic while balancing, mirror image, camera setup and control is also possible locally using a remote controller, or remote via RS-232C and this setup data is stored in the built-in non-volatile memory.
- The camera is best suited for HD CCTV surveillance purposes, from single-camera operation to large-scale integrated systems for visual information management.

- This camera outputs an HD-SDI signal featuring resolutions of 1080/25p, 30p, 50i, 60i or 720/30p, 50p, 60p SMPTE 292M standard.
- MULTI OUTPUT MODEL (CHDC-22SDHSC)
- It has outputs of HD-SDI, Composite, S-Video, HDMI, and YPbPr Component.
- NTSC / PAL OUTPUT
- This output can be used for a test or an adjustment.
- DAY / NIGHT FUNCTION
- This camera delivers high-quality color images during the day.
- As light diminishes below a certain level, the camera can automatically switch to night mode to make use of near-infrared (IR) light to deliver high-quality, black-and-white images.
- BACK LIGHT COMPENSATION
- Well-designed BLC, backlight compensation, the facility is provided which can assign a compensation area for backlight compensation to have an optimum balanced clear picture reproduction.
- DIGITAL EFFECT FUNCTION
- This output video can be selected in either normal, negative, solarization, pasteurization, or sephia, monochrome.
- AUTOMATIC OR MANUAL WHITE BALANCE
- In addition to the Auto white balance, this camera provides manual adjustment of x-value / yvalue.
- AUTO SLOW SHUTTER
- ON / OFF is provided
- MIRROR IMAGE
- This flips the image horizontally or vertically.

- These holes are for the camera mount plate enclosed and provided in both the top and bottom of the camera body.
- COMPONENT VIDEO (CHDC-22SDHSC ONLY)
- These three RCA connectors are for analog Y, Pb, and Pr components.
- NO CONNECTION
- S-VIDEO OUT (CHDC-22SDHSC ONLY)
- This is the S-Video output.
- HDMI OUT (CHDC-22SDHSC ONLY)
- This is HDMI output.
- MULTI IN / OUT
- This is a 9-pin multi-connect to use with a multi-port cable used for DC12V power and serial control.
- CVBS OUT (CHDC-22SDHSC ONLY)
- This is NTSC / PAL output (BNC)
- VIDEO OUTPUT CONNECTOR (VIDEO OUT)
- For HD-SDI output from the camera. Connect this output to an HDTV monitor or HDTV switcher, etc.
- This is to be terminated with 75 ohms impedance at the last equipment in a loop when the cascade/bridge loop connection is made.
OPERATION
USER SETUP
- The camera has a remote controller as standard to set up and various picture quality setups, backlight compensation, and Day/Night for optimum reproduction.
- The SETUP can be easily executed using the On-Screen-Menu system.
- Alteration of these functions may be needed for some installations and we recommend that you spend some time to become acquainted with these functions so that the best results can be obtained from this high-performance HD CCTV camera.

ENTERING THE SETUP MODE AND ITS BASICS
Press the ENT button on a remote controller to display the following OSD menu on the screen.

VIDEO FORMAT
Press the ENT button one time to move a cursor to the TV type. Press the ENT
button one more time to move a cursor to NTSC. Press the button or button to
select the format.
- TV-Type: This NTSC (default) or PAL to select
- Composite: SQUEEZE (16:9) default or crop (4:3)
- SYNC TRIG: This is for the sync trigger. This model does not support a trigger. Please stay at “OFF”
- First Field: Lower (default) or Upper
Resolution: Select HD Output format

PICTURE CONTROL
Press the ENT button to adjust the picture.

Brightness: 0 ~ 100 (default is 66) higher number increases brightness.

Sharpness: Low, Middle (default) or High.

Hue:
- Cr -> -2 ~ +2 (default is +1)
- Cb -> -2 ~ +2 (default is +1)

Chroma:
- Low, Middle, or High (default is Low)
- Cb -> Low, Middle or High (default is Low)
BACKLIGHT
- This is ON / OFF of Back Light Compensation.
- This should be ON when the object becomes dark due to the highlight background.
DIGITAL EFFECT
- You can select the image at Normal, Negative, Solarization, Pasteurization, Monochrome, or sepia color.
SCENE
- Due to your environmental scene, you may need to set up this function like MODE ODD, High color Temperature, WDR (Wide Dynamic Range), AUTO, Night (without Auto change) or Night (with Auto change – Day / Night)
FLICKERS
- If you see a flicker on the screen, please use this function and select ON, ON (50Hz fixed) or ON (60Hz fixed).
WHITE BALANCE
- You may select Manual, Auto, (Tungsten, Fluorescent D, Fluorescent N, Fluorescent W, Shade or Cloudy)
- When selecting “MANUAL”, you may need to select X/Y values.
NOISE REDUCTION
- You may select Low, Middle (default) or High.
AUTO SLOW SHUTTER
- It can be selected ON or OFF (default).
IMAGE STABILIZER
- It can be selected ON (default) or OFF.
MIRROR
- This function is to reverse top and bottom or left and right.
FOCUS MODE
- Auto or Manual can be selected.
OSD COLOR
- The color of the OSD menu (Title, Menu, Sub menu, or select) can be changed to WHITE, CYAN, MAZEN (Magenta), BLUE, YELLOW, GREEN RED, gray (Dark Gray), GRAY, DCYAN, (Dark Cyan), DMAZE (Dark Magenta), DBLUE (Dark Blue), DYELL (Dark Yellow), DGREEN (Dark Green), BLACK, TRANS (Transparency).
OSD AUTO DISAPPEAR
- You can select Disable or Enable for OSD auto disappear function
SERIAL ID
- You can set your ID (number 1 ~ 7) and Baud rate (default is 19200). Please visit http://www.orionimages.com/product/CHDC-22SDC.asp. to download a remote application software. (see figure 1.1 for the application menu)
RESET
- Select “YES” to go back all settings to factory default.
EXIT
- Select either “SAVE & EXIT” or “EXIT WITHOUT SAVING” your camera set up.
