Using the Eartips

This device has two types of eartips: regular (red and black) and waterproof (solid black). If using the device while swimming, use the waterproof eartips. In other environments, regular eartips are recommended.

Remark: it is very important that you choose the right size of eartips that perfectly fit into your ears. If the size is too small or too big, the sound quality will not be perfect.

Check if the audio files are in a supported format
Check if the audio files are damaged
Make sure that the device is not in pause mode
Audio files cannot be transferred to the device| Check if the USB cable is properly connected Check if the device has sufficient storage space
The device cannot connect to Bluetooth| Check if your phone’s Bluetooth is enabled Restart the Bluetooth on your phone or BTX-860 Check if the device is in pairing mode
The sound is not good| Maybe you have selected the wrong size and type of eartips. See below for the information about swimming.
Intermitting sound in Bluetooth mode| Decrease the distance between the BTX-860 and the connected device.

Read before using your BTX-860 during swimming:

  • Choose the size of eartips that feel the most fitting/comfortable in your ears.
  • Put your BTX-860 into your ears and play some music and make sure you hear the music in the best way in the 2 ears. It could happen that you need 2 different sizes of eartips left and right because maybe your ears are different left and right.
  •  If you will swim with your BTX-860, make sure the place is safe and that you can swim without hearing what happens around you.
  • If you swim in a public swimming pool, make sure you follow the rules.

Choose the best type and size of eartips
Your BTX-860 comes with 3 pairs of normal (sport) eartips which are grey with a red structure inside and 3 pairs of swimming eartips which are black. The swimming eartips are closed inside to avoid water entering the earphones.
You can try both types of swimming: the normal and the swimming ones. Important is that there is no water getting into your ears (between the ear and the earphone structure).
If you get water into your ears, the sound will not be good!

If the sound becomes not good or if you get water into your ears while swimming
First, remove the water from your ears, and then remove the water from the eartips. You can shake your BTX-860 with the eartips down a few times on a towel. If you do not succeed to get the water off, you better take off the eartips and dry them with a towel or small piece of dry cloth. Also, dry the end of the earphones (where normally the eartips are fixed on). When all parts are dry, put again the eartips on the earphones and put the BTX-860 again into your ears to test the sound quality. If the sound is good you can try a bigger size of eartips for swimming to avoid that water coming again into your ears. Important is to find the best size and type of eartips for sport and for swimming.

Remark: the swimming eartips are closed inside, which means that you can better turn up the volume of the music to get the same result as with the normal eartips. For swimming, you better use a tighter size of eartips to avoid the water entering your ears.

Taking off your BTX-860 from your ears
Be careful when you take off your players from your ears: if you are too fast, you can damage your ears and eardrums or it could happen that one ear tip remains in your ear.

Clean your earphones after every use
After use, you should clean the eartips and speaker tips of the BTX-860.
You can clean the eartips with natural soap and cold water and dry them well afterward.
The mesh sheet of the speakers of the player, you better dry, or clean with clear cold water. If still not clean enough, you can use a soft brush or Q-tip and make sure you let dry the BTX-860 at room temperature. Make sure you do not push anything into the mesh sheet. Do never use a hairdryer!

(mesh sheet of player’s speaker)

If you swim in the sea (saltwater), pay attention how you clean your BTX-860 as soon as possible with clear water. The warranty will not cover the product if it appears that any defect is caused by wrong use or bad maintenance.
