Charging the Light

  • Charger Input: 5VDC Max

WARNING: To prevent ignition of a hazardous atmosphere, do not attempt to charge this product in the hazardous environment. This task must only be performed in an area known to be non-hazardous.

Use only the supplied Nightstick rechargeable battery and MagmateTM cable. Fully charge the light before the first use, or if the battery is new or has been unused for several months. For best performance, charge the light when the flashlight beam starts to dim.

  1. Connect the Magmate to a power source with a USB connector.
  2. Attach the magnetic end to the charging port located on the light.
  3. The USB end of the Magmate includes an LED charge status indicator. The LED indicator remains red until the battery is fully charged. At full charge, the LED indicator turns green.
  4. The total time to fully charge the light varies depending on the remaining charge in the battery.

Replacing Lithium-Polymer Rechargeable Battery

WARNING: To prevent ignition of a hazardous atmosphere, do not open the lens bezel in the hazardous environment. This task must only be performed in an area known to be non-hazardous.When exchanging the rechargeable battery, use only the approved Nightstick rechargeable battery from Bayco Products.To prevent a hazardous atmosphere, the rechargeable battery pack must only be exchanged in an area known to be non-hazardous.

  1. Loosen the screw on the battery compartment door until it opens.
  2. Remove the old battery by disconnecting it from the 2-wire connector in the housing. Discard old battery according to local disposal guidelines.
  3. Re-connect the new battery to the 2-wire connector and seat it in the battery compartment.
  4. Close the battery door and tighten the screw.

CHARGING THE LIGHT

WHEN EXCHANGING THE RECHARGEABLE BATTERY, USE ONLY THE APPROVED NIGHTSTICK RECHARGEABLE BATTERY FROM BAYCO PRODUCTS. TO PREVENT IGNITION OF A HAZARDOUS ATMOSPHERE, THE RECHARGEABLE BATTERY PACK MUST ONLY BE EXCHANGED IN AN AREA KNOWN TO BE NON-HAZARDOUS.

OPERATION

LIGHTING MODES

  • Press the spotlight button to turn on the spotlight.
  • Press the floodlight button to turn on the floodlight.
  • Press both buttons to turn on spotlight and the floodlight at the same time (dual-light).

EACH BUTTON HAS TWO BRIGHTNESS SETTINGS

  • High-brightness – Press the desired button once
  • Low-brightness – Press the desired button a second time
  • Pressing the same button a third time will turn that lighting mode off

TILT ADJUSTMENT FEATURE:
Adjust the tilt angle of the light to illuminate the desired area.

HEADBANDS AND MOUNTS:
The headlamp includes two backplates. One for use with the elastic or rubber strap and the other one to mount onto a hard-hat using the NS-HMC9 Mount.

  • Use the elastic non-slip headband for wearing directly on your head or on a soft hat such as a ball cap.
  • Use the heavy-duty rubber headband on any hardhat.

To change the back plate, use a flat-shaped tool to pry one side of the backplate off the mounting pin. The other backplate will snap in place onto the light.

THE XPR-5554G FITS ON ANY HARD HAT THAT HAS A HARD HAT LAMP BRACKET ATTACHED:

  • Ensure mounting surface is clean and oil-free (use alcohol wipe if needed)
  • Prior to installing, determine mounting location that allows headlamp to fully tilt without interfering with helmet brim.
  • Remove adhesive backing.
  • Firmly press bracket into place up for 30 seconds with flat side facing up (see image).
  • While supporting mount, slide headlamp clip into bracket slot. (Note: adhesive reaches peak strength in 24 hours)

TO ATTACH TO THE HARD HAT LAMP BRACKET
Slide the clip on the back of the headlamp into the slot on the top edge of the Hard Hat Lamp Bracket and press down firmly until the clip is fully engaged into the bracket.

TO REMOVE FROM THE HARD HAT LAMP BRACKET
Grasp the headlamp and pull up until the clip slides out of the Hard Hat Lamp Bracket.

LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY
Bayco Products, Inc. warrants this product to be free from defects in workmanship and materials for the original purchaser’s lifetime. The Limited Lifetime Warranty includes the LEDs, housing and lenses. Rechargeable batteries, chargers, switches, electronics and included accessories are warranted for a period of two years with proof of purchase. Normal wear and failures which are caused by accidents, misuse, abuse, faulty installation and lightning damage are excluded.

  • We will repair or replace this product should we determine it to be defective. This is the only warranty, expressed or implied, including any warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
