• Please read this user manual guide carefully before operating the product.

Item Overview

WARNING! The Printer Head may be very hot. Do not touch internal internal parts of the thermal printer immediately after using the printer.

Connect to the Computer

1. Ensure the printer is OFF (Press down “O” means Power OFF).
2. Connect the power cable.
3. Connect the USB cable to the Computer.
4. Turn the power ON (Press down “I” means Power ON).

Windows Setup

Driver Installation for Windows

• Please insert the included USB flash disk into your computer. A dialog box may appear.
• If it does, select Open folder to view files.
• If a dialog box does not appear, open Windows Explorer and select the flash disk on the left side of the window. Double-click “Driver” files, and Open the window” file with a double-click to start the installation process.

1. Double click the Driver for Windows and it will come with a dialog. And then click “Install”.
2. Select the “Install printer driver” and click “Next”.
3. Please choose the printer model with “CTPrinter CT-428S” and click”Next”. (Please don’t change the printer name.)
4. After the printer driver is installed successfully, then click “Finish”.

Windows Printing Setup

Take Windows 10 as an example:

1. Find “CTPrinter CT-428S” along the path: Windows Setting Device→ Printers & scanners.
2. Click on “CTPrinter CT-428S”, choose “Manage”, and then click “Printing Preference”.
3. Click “Page Setup” choose the proper size of your label, and make sure the chosen size corresponds to the label paper you are about to use.
4. Click “Print Setting” to adjust the Darkness and Print Speed.

If you think that you are not satisfied with the clarity and speed of printing, you can adjust it by reducing the print speed and increasing the print density.

Computer Software Printing Instruction

1. One of two ways to download the Software:
   • Computer login: https://ga.ctaiot.com/pc.
   • After inserting the USB flash disk, open the file, and double “Clabel trade setup” to Install the program.
2. First, click “Agree on Clabel trade” and then click “Install immediately”.
3. Waiting to install.
4. After installing immediately, double click “Experience immediately”.

MAC OS Setup

Driver Installation for MAC OS

Please insert the included USB flash disk into your computer.

1. Open the folder to view files.
2. Double click “MAC.driv- er. pkg” if you see a warning shown below, please follow the steps below. (if you don’t see this warning, you can skip these steps).
3. Open “System Preferences”, and click on “Security & Privacy”
   • If you don’t see the warning, you can skip this step).
4. Click on the “Open Anyway” button. If you don’t see the warning, you can skip this step).
5. The installation process will auto-running, if the driver has not auto-running, please right-click the “MAC.driver.pkg” file, then select “Open” to start the installation process.
6. Click “Continue” and follow the onscreen instructions.
7. Click “Close” to finish.
8. Open “System Preferences”, and click “Printers & Scanners”.
9. Click “Add Printer, Scanner or Fax” to add a new printer.
10. Please make sure the printer is connected and power is turning on, and double click “CTPrinter CT -428S”, then click “Add Then click “Choose a Driver”, and “Select Software”.
11. Select “CTPrinter CT -428S” from the drop-down menu, and click “OK”.
12. Printer is successfully added to your computer if you see as below:

MAC OS Printing Setup

1. Open a PDF you want to print, select “File” and select “Print”.
2. In the Print window, click “Page Setup”, and choose “CTPrinter CT -428S” Printer, and select the Paper Size to match your label size. A 4″x 6″ label is approximately 102x152mm.

• If you feel that the clarity and printing speed are not suitable, you can adjust according to the following steps:
• Select “Printer Features”, then change the settings of the printer, e.g.: Print Speed, Darkness, Horizontal, Vertical.

Bluetooth Connection

• If you buy a Bluetooth Version, it’s ONLY for Smartphones and Windows computers! If you choose the USB version, no need Bluetooth connection.

Smartphone Bluetooth Setup

• Search “Clabel trade” in the Google Play Store, or Apple APP Store to download the APP.
• Please follow the software instructions below to operate the software.

Windows Computer Bluetooth Setup

1. Enter the Window settings, and click on the Devices.
2. Click Add Bluetooth & other devices.
3. Add Bluetooth or other device.
4. Wait for the computer to search and find the Bluetooth device.
   • Note: The printer may appear as the same two devices, please select the device with the printer icon.
5. Click the name of the Bluetooth printer, and enter the PIN code of 0000 or 1234 in the dialog box.
6. Click the Bluetooth button, after the connection is complete, click Done.

Find the ports.

1. Click Printers & scanners to find the added Bluetooth printer.
2. Click on the Bluetooth printer and click on the Manage button.
3. Click Printer properties.
4. Click ports options.
5. Right-click to open this PC menu, click Manage.
6. Click Device Manager.
7. In the list of devices, find and open the port.
8. You will view the port number “COM” of the Bluetooth device, there may be 2 port numbers, remember them all.
9. Return to the printer property setting, and check the port number of the Bluetooth device you just queried in the port list. If there are two or more, you can try them separately.
10. Click Apply to return to the General device, click Print Test Page. If it cannot print normally, please follow the previous steps to change the port number.

Label Setup

1. Ensure the printer is OFF. (Press down “O” means Power OFF)
2. Pull the release latch to open the cover.
3. Load the labels. Make sure the guides are touching the label sides. The printable part of the label should be facing up toward you.
4. Close the cover carefully.
5. Turn the power ON and wait 5 seconds for the printer to initialize.
6. Press and hold the feed button (a blue button) until you hear one short beep, take away your finger, and the printer will begin automatic label identification.
7. Once the printer stops, it will have identified your label size. The next time you want to put labels into the printer, instead of opening the printer, you can simply feed labels into the back of the printer.

Feed Button Instructions

This printer has one feed button and one indicator that can display three colors. Pressing the feed button in conjunction with different colors or collaborating with the power switch will enable the printer to start multiple functions, such as feeding paper, pausing the printer, calibrating the label sensor, printing the self-test value, and initializing the printer. Details are described as follows:

General button functions

1. Paper feeding: When the printer is on standby (LED blue fixed), the installed paper will move forward one unit if the feed button is pressed once.
2. Pausing of printing: operation While the printer is printing, pressing the feed button will pause the operation. At this point, the power indicator blinks blue. Press the button again to resume the printing.

Pro Tips
This printer has four pro tips that can be used to set or test the printer’s hardware. Please follow the steps below to start them:

1. Turn off the printer.
2. Turn on the printer while holding down the feed button.
3. Release the feed button with the light signal indicating the required function, as listed in the table below:

Maintenance

The printer head is a sensitive part of the printer and can be found on the upper part of the printer when open.
Caution: When the printer is running, the printer head can be very hot.

1. Ensure that the power switch is OFF, remove the power cord, and open the cover. Wait several moments to ensure that the printer head cools down.
2. Completely clean the printer head using an alcohol swab. Any 70% Alcohol pad would work. Please do not use water.
3. Wait 2-3 minutes until the alcohol has completely dried, then close the cover.
4. Connect the power cord and print a test page to check if it is clean.

Safety Notices

1. DO NOT touch the printer head after use.
2. DO NOT disassemble or repair the unit by yourself.
3. USE ONLY approved accessories.
4. Keep the printer away from water, fire, or other objects that could destroy the components.
5. Keep the printer away from children.
6. DO NOT use the printer if you find any irregularities which could result in electrocution or fire.
7. Please unplug the power when not in use for a long time.

User Tips

1. When you load the labels, the peeling-off side should face up. Or it would cause printing to blank.
2. Make sure there are no particles on the surface of labels to avoid damage to the Printer Head.
3. For Windows users, please keep using the same USB Port on your computer to avoid producing unexpected duplicated copies of the printer on your computer.
4. Each time you change different label sizes, please press the feed button to run the Intelligent Label Study process before printing.
5. In case labels keep coming out unexpectedly, just press the feed button to pause the printer, and clear the printing job from your computer.
6. If there are white spots on printed labels, it indicates that the printer head needs cleaning. Stop printing, and clean the Printer Head.
7. When the label is jammed accidentally, please open the lid and take out the jammed labels slowly and patiently. The printer will resume after cleaning.
