User Guide

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

Do not use the appliance in a bathroom, near water, or outdoors. Do not operate the appliance with wet hands or bare feet.
Do not immerse any of the parts (appliance, mains cable, plug) in water or other liquids during use to protect from fire, electric shock, and personal injury.
Do not use the appliance if it is damaged or malfunctioning.
Do not leave the appliance unattended whilst in use. Use and store it out of reach of children.
Keep hands and utensils away from the moving parts while juicing to reduce the risk of severe injury to persons or damage to the juicer.

  • This appliance is intended for household use only.

  • Do not use this appliance for any other purpose than its intended use.

  • Ensure that the appliance is always placed on a firm and flat surface, away from any edges of the worktop. Do not place the appliance onto a metal tray or metal surface whilst in use. Do not place the appliance on, or near, hot gas or electric burner or in a heated oven.

  • Keep the appliance and mains cable away from the edges of worktops and out of reach of children. Route the mains cable so it does not overhang, and cannot be tripped over or caught.

  • Do not let the mains cable run across an open space, such as between a low power socket and a table, or across any hot area, such as a cooker. Heat may damage the main cable.

  • The connections on both sides of the main cable (the appliance and the power socket) should never be strained.
    If the mains cable is damaged it must be replaced by a qualified person or service to avoid any hazards. This appliance must not be operated by an external timer or a remote control system.

  • The base of the glass blending jug 3 should always be kept dry. Before washing and drying disconnect the power supply; ensure that the glass blending jug 3 is completely dry before you reconnect the appliance to the power supply.

  • Ensure the lid 2 or grinding mill cover 11 are securely in place and the glass blending jug 3 or grinding mill 12 is correctly inserted into the motor unit 4 before operating the appliance. Do not open the lid 2 or grinding mill cover 11 whilst the appliance is running.

  • Do not switch on the appliance when it is empty. Ensure there is at least a minimum amount of liquid or solid ingredients in the glass blending jug 3 or
    grinding mill 13.

  • Switch off the appliance and unplug from the power socket before changing attachments or approaching parts that move while in use. Unplug the appliance when not in use.

  • Ensure that the appliance has come to a complete stop before cleaning and storing away. Keep the attachments, motor unit 4, mains cable, and plug away from sources of heat. Store in a dry place.

  • Use the glass blending jug 3 or grinding mill 12 only with the motor unit 4 supplied (and vice versa) and do not tamper with the connector in any way.

BEFORE FIRST USE

All parts that come in touch with food are to be thoroughly cleaned before being used for the first time (see the section on Cleaning).

Ensure that the speed selector 6 is in the OFF position and plug it into the power socket.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

  • Assemble the blender 10 or grinder 14 and ensure that the speed selector 6 is turned to Remove the lid 2 or the grinding mill cover 11 .
  • BLENDER: Place the ingredients into the glass blending jug 3 and attach the lid 2 by pressing down Pour the liquids through the opening in lid 2 then insert the measuring cup 1 and turn it clockwise until it is locked.
  • For best results do not fill the glass blending jug 3 above the 1000m1 marking, especially if using liquid
  • GRINDING MILL: Turn the grinding mill cover 11 upsides down and fill it with ingredients up to the MAX Attach the grinding mill base 12 and turn it clockwise until it locks.
  • Turn the speed selector 6 to ON to switch the appliance on and rotate it clockwise to increase the speed.
  • The standard operating period is a maximum of 2 minutes. After the appliance has been running continuously for 2 minutes turn the speed selector 6 to OFF and let it rest for about 10

SPEED SETTINGS

  • ON (stand-by mode) – the appliance is switched on and in standby mode. The light on the speed selector 6 is flashing.
  • MIN (low speed) – for light blending of soft or liquid ingredients
  • MAX (high speed) – for heavy blending with solid ingredients and thicker liquids.

BUTTON FUNCTIONS

Before using the function buttons (PULSE 7, SMOOTHIE 8, ICE CRUSH 9) ensure the speed selector 6 is in the OFF position otherwise the buttons will not work.

To use the button functions first turn the speed selector 6 to ON, ensure the light is flashing, then press the desired button.

  • PULSE 7 (single short burst of very high speed) for rough blending of solid ingredients and thicker liquids grinding and short, powerful pulse movements.
  • SMOOTHIE 8 – pre-set speed and duration for perfect smoothie effect and pureeing. The appliance automatically stops after the processing time has elapsed.
  • ICE CRUSH 9 – automated function for crushing ice cubes. The appliance automatically stops after the processing time has elapsed.

USEFUL TIPS

  • If the speed selector 6 is not in the OFF position when power is supplied to the appliance, it will not function. Return the speed selector 6 to the OFF position before selecting a different speed.

  • To achieve the best results when pureeing solid ingredients, place small portions into the glass blending jug 3 one by one instead of placing a large quantity all at once. Do not overload.

  • When processing solid ingredients, cut them into small pieces (15mm) first.

  • When mixing solid ingredients start off by adding a small amount of liquid. Gradually add more of the liquid through the opening in the lid 2.

  • If blending warm liquids or ingredients always make sure that they are cooled down before blending. Do not fill the glass blending jug 3 over 1000m1 / 4 cups mark.

  • Always stabilize the glass blending jug 3 or grinding mill 13 by placing your hand on top of the lid 2 or grinding mill cover 11 when operating the appliance.

  • For stirring, solids, or very thick liquid ingredients use the blender 10 in PULSE 7 mode to prevent the blades from becoming stuck.

CLEANING

Never immerse the motor unit 4 in water.

  • Wipe the motor unit 0 clean with a damp cloth and dry immediately with a soft cloth to avoid scratches and watermarks on the

LIGHT CLEANING

  • BLENDER: empty the glass blending jug 3 then fill it half way with tepid water and a mild detergent. Place the glass blending jug 3 on the motor unit 4, turn the speed selector 6 to OFF position, then press the PULSE mode button 7 several times. Empty the glass blending jug 3, rinse until clean, then dry.
  • GRINDING MILL: to clean the grinding mill 13, detach the grinding mill cover 11 and wipe inside it with a damp cloth or sponge, using tepid water with some washing-up liquid, if necessary. Remove any stuck food remains from the blades with a small dishwashing brush and rinse. Dry immediately with a soft cloth.

THOROUGH CLEANING

Be careful when handling the blade inside the jug. The blades are very sharp.

  • Ensure that the grinding mill 13 or glass blending jug 3 is completely empty then remove any stuck food around the blades using a small dishwashing brush.
  • All parts except the motor unit 4 can be washed either by hand or in a Do not use harsh scourers and aggressive or abrasive detergents.
  • Always ensure that the connectors on the bottom of the glass blending jug 3, grinding mill base 12 and on top of the motor unit 4 are completely dry before attaching them to the motor unit 4.

TROUBLESHOOTING

PROBLEM

The appliance does not work.

POSSIBLE CAUSES

  1. The appliance is not plugged in correctly.
    SOLUTION: ensure the power plug is plugged in properly.

  2. Glass blending jug 3 is not properly attached.
    SOLUTION: remove the glass blending jug 3 and attach it according to assembly instructions.

  3. The speed selector 6 is not turned to an appropriate speed.
    SOLUTION: plug the appliance in and turn the speed selector 6 clockwise to select the desired speed.

The product must not be used without the fuse cover fitted.
Should the power cable or the power plug become damaged, arrange for these to be replaced by Customer Service or a qualified person before continuing to use the appliance. The appliance is fitted with a 13A fuse (BS1362) in a 13A plug (BS1363).

To reduce environmental and health problems due to hazardous substances in electrical and electronic goods, appliances marked with the symbol below must not be disposed of with unsorted municipal waste. Please repair, reuse or recycle appropriately.

SERVICE

The product is not user-serviceable. If it is not working, read the instructions, check the plug fuse and main fuse/circuit breaker. If it is still not working, consult your retailer.
If that does not solve the problem ring Customer Service – they may be able to offer technical advice. Please have the Model Number to hand, as they will not be able to help you without it.
If you are advised to return the product to us, pack it carefully, including a note with your name, address, day phone number, and description of the problem.

The guarantee for this product is covered by SQ Professional Limited. Any faults with this product arising through a manufacturer defect will be covered for 1 year from the date of purchase, subject to a valid VAT receipt being presented.
