IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

  1. Please read these operating instructions thoroughly before first operating the waffle maker and keep them in a safe place.

  2. If you pass this appliance on to a third party, ensure you include these operating instructions.

  3. Incorrect operation and handling of the appliance can lead to malfunction of the appliance and injury to users.

  4. The appliance is not suitable for commercial use or use outdoors.

  5. Before inserting the plug into the socket, please check that the power supply aligns with the specifications on the type plate.

  6. Disconnect the plug from the socket when the appliance is not in use or before cleaning.

  7. The grilling surfaces and sides and top of the appliance get extremely hot when it is in use.
    Do not touch these surfaces as contact with these surfaces may cause burns. Only touch the handle when the appliance is on.

  8. Do not immerse the appliance or the plug in water or other liquids. This poses a danger to life due to electric shock.

  9. Children should never use the appliance unsupervised as they are unable to recognise the hazards associated with the incorrect use of the appliance..

  10. Do not use the appliance if the power cable or plug show signs of damage or if the appliance has fallen on the floor or has otherwise been damaged. If the appliance or cord have been damaged, take it to a specialist for repair.

  11. Do not allow the power cable to hang over sharp edges and keep it away from hot objects and flame.

  12. Place the appliance on a stable, flat surface away from hot objects and flame (e.g. hotplates).

  13. N e. ver leave the appliance unattended when it Is In use.

  14. The appliance’ s external surfaces may get hot when the appliance is in operation.

  15. lf the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly qualified person to avoid a hazard.

ASSEMBLING THE COOKING PLATES

Inserting the cooking plates
Place the plate mountings into the card slots on the hinged sides of the appliance. Then, press the plates down until they click and lock into position.

Press the plate release buttons in the direction of the arrows and then lift the plates out of the appliance.

BEFORE Fl RST USE

  • Remove all packaging.
  • Clean the toasting surfaces with a soft damp cloth and then allow them to dry.
  • Fully unwind the power cord.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

PREPARATION
  1. Select the desired cooking plates and ensure they are correctly installed.

  2. Close the appliance and place it on a stable, level, heat proof surface.

  3. Plug the appliance into the power supply.

  4. When the appliance is plugged in, the red and green indicator lights will illuminate, indicating the appliance is preheating. After approximately 5 minutes, the appliance will be preheated and the green indicator light will turn off. The appliance is now ready to use.
    NOTE:

    • During cooking, the green indicator light will cycle on and off to keep the appliance at the correct temperature.
    • To avoid damaging the cooking surfaces, do not use sharp, pointed or metal spatulas to remove food items from the appliance.
COOKING

SANDWICH MAKER

  1. Insert the sandwich plates into the appliance.
  2. Prepare your sandwiches while the appliance is preheating.
  3. Wait until the green indicator light turns off. This indicates the appliance is at the correct temperature for use.
  4. Open the appliance and place the sandwiches on each bottom plate.
  5. Close the appliance and squeeze the handles together and close the lock.
  6. Cook for 4-5 minutes or until the outside of the sandwiches are golden brown.
  7. Open the appliance and remove the sandwiches using a flat wooden or plastic spatula (not supplied).
  8. Unplug the appliance from the power supply after use.

WAFFLE MAKER

  1. Insert the waffle plates into the appliance.
  2. Prepare the batter to your taste while the appliance is preheating.
  3. Wait until the green indicator light turns off. This indicates the appliance is at the correct temperature for use.
  4. Open the appliance and gently pour the batter over each bottom cooking plate. Do not overfill.
  5. Close the appliance and squeeze the handles together and close the lock.
  6. Cook for 7-9 minutes or until the waffles are light golden brown.
  7. Open the appliance and remove the waffles using a flat wooden or plastic spatula (not supplied).
  8. Unplug the appliance from the power supply after use.
    Tips: For best results, all the batter ingredients should be at room temperature before the batter is prepared.
    When making waffles, do not enrich the batter with too much fat, sugar or egg as the waffles will brown too quickly and will become soft soon after baking.

PANINI GRILL

  1. Insert the grill plates into the appliance.
  2. Ensure the uncooked paninis are no more than 1 cm thick.
  3. Open the appliance and grease the plates with a little cooking oil or butter.
  4. Place the panini on the bottom plate.
  5. Close the appliance and squeeze the handles together and close the lock.
  6. Cook for 7-9 minutes or until the paninis are light golden brown.
  7. Open the appliance and check that the food is cooked thoroughly before serving (cook meat until the juices run clear; cook fish until the flesh is opaque throughout).
  8. When cooking pre-packed foods, follow the guidelines on the label.
  9. Remove the panini using a flat wooden or plastic spatula (not supplied).
  10. Unplug the appliance from the power supply after use.

Caution:

  • After the grilling process is complete, disconnect the appliance from the power supply immediately. Keep the appliance open and allow it to cool down.
  • The appliance must always be positioned horizontally during use.
  • If the sandwiches and paninis are overfull, it will not be possible to close the appliance. In this case, remove some of the filling. Never use force to close the appliance.
  • Never use sharp or metal objects (e.g. knives, metal spatulas) on the appliance as this will damage the Teflon coating.
  • If you wish to grill more food, close the appliance again and wait until the appliance has reheated. When the green indicator light turns off, you can repeat the toasting process as described above.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  • Always disconnect the plug after each use.
  • Only clean the appliance when it has cooled completely.
  • Clean the housing surface and the toasting surfaces with a soft, damp cloth.
  • It is easiest to remove toast or food crumbs with a very soft brush.
  • Never use abrasive cleaning agents or sharp objects (e.g. scrubbing brush, knife) for cleaning.
  • Do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.

STORAGE

  • Always unplug the appliance prior to storage.
  • Always ensure the appliance is cool and dry prior to storage.
