VITEK VT-1197 Electric Thermopot
Product Information: The VT-1197 Thermopot is an electric device designed for boiling water and maintaining the desired temperature. Product Usage Instructions
- Before first use, keep the thermopot at room temperature for at least three hours.
- Ensure that the unit is intended for household use only and should not be used in commercial or production areas.
- To dispense water, place a cup under the spout and press the water dispense button.
- After transportation or storage atlow temperature, there may be water spots in the thermopot. To remove them, press the water dispense button.
- The water is dispensed only when the unlocked water dispensing indicator is switched on. If you press the water dispensing unlock button and do not take any action, the indicator will go out after 10 seconds.
- The keep warm mode will be activated when the water in the thermopot cools down to the preset temperature. The water temperature will be maintained.
- If the water temperature drops below the preset value, the boiling mode will be activated. To reboil the water, press the reboil button.
- To remove the lid, press the lid opening button and pull it towards the control panel.
- Ensure that children do not play with polyethylene bags or packaging film.
- Follow the safety measures mentioned in the instruction manual and use a residual current device (RCD) for additional protection.
- Make sure that the voltage of your mains corresponds to the product’s voltage requirement.

ATTENTION!
For additional protection it is reasonable to install a residual current
device (RCD) with nominal operation current not exceeding 30 mA, to install
RCD, contact a specialist.
SAFETY MEASURES
- Before using the electric thermopot, read this instruction manual carefully
- Make sure that the operating voltage of the unit corresponds to the voltage of your mains.
- The power cord is equipped with a «euro plug»; plug it into the socket with reliable grounding contact.
- To avoid fire, do not use adapters for plugging the unit in.
- Do not connect or disconnect the power cord with wet hands, this may cause electric shock or injuries.
- When unplugging the unit, always pull the plug but not the cord.
- Never leave the operating unit unattended.
- Do not switch the thermopot on if it is empty.
- Do not drop or tilt the unit.
- Use the thermopot only for water boiling; it is prohibited to heat or boil other liquids in it.
- Ensure that water level in the thermopot is not below the « нии » mark and not above the « MACK » mark.
- Do not fill the thermopot with water directly from the faucet; to fill the thermopot use a suitable bowl.
- Place the thermopot on a flat dry and stable surface; do not place the thermopot on the edge of the table.
- Do not place the thermopot next to the walls or close to the kitchen furniture. Place the thermopot keeping at least 20 cm gap between the thermopot body and the wall or furniture and at least 30 cm gap above the thermopot.
- Do not use the unit near heat sources or open fire.
- Do not let the power cord hang from the edge of the table and make sure it does not touch hot or sharp edges of furniture.
- Do not open the lid and do not pour water out during boiling.
- Do not rotate the unit during water pouring.
- Do not apply excessive effort when closing the lid. When using the Thermo pot, make sure that the lid is closed tightly.
- Keep your hands away and do not bend over the steam release openings, it may cause burns. Do not block the steam release opening with any objects.
- Do not touch hot surfaces of the thermopot.
- Be careful while carrying the Thermo pot filled with boiling water.
- Do not carry the Thermo pot holding it by the lid opening button.
- Be careful when pouring out hot water.
- Remove the lid before draining the remaining hot water from the Thermo pot flask.
- To avoid risk of electric shock, do not immerse the thermopot, the power cord and the power plug of the unit into water or other liquids.
- Unplug the unit, if you are not using it or before cleaning.
- Do not wash the Thermo pot in a dishwashing machine.
- Before taking the unit away for long storage or before cleaning, unplug it, pour out water and let the unit cool down and dry.
- For children’s safety reasons do not leave polyethylene bags used as packaging unattended.
Attention! Do not allow children to play with polyethylene bags or packaging film. Danger of suffocation!
- Close supervision is necessary when children or disabled persons are near the operating unit.
- The unit is not intended for usage by physically or mentally disabled persons (including children) or by persons lacking experience or knowledge if they are not under supervision of a person who is responsible for their safety or if they are not instructed by this person on the usage of the unit.
- Do not leave children unattended to prevent using the unit as a toy.
- Never use the unit if the power cord or the power cord plug is damaged, if the unit works improperly or after it was dropped.
- Do not attempt to repair the unit. Do not disassemble the unit by yourself, if any malfunction is detected or after it was dropped, unplug the unit and apply to any authorized service center from the contact address list given in the warranty certificate and on the website www.vitek.ru.
- Transport the unit in the original package only.
- Keep the unit out of reach of children and dis-abled persons.
THE UNIT IS INTENDED FOR HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY, ITS COMMERCIAL USAGE AND USAGE IN PRODUCTION AREAS AND WORK SPACES IS PROHIBITED.
BEFORE THE FIRST USE
After the unit transportation or storage at low temperature keep it for at least three hours at room temperature before switching on. There may be water spots in the thermopot, this is normal, as the unit has undergone fac-tory quality control.

Unpack the thermopot; remove any promo-stickers that can interfere with the unit operation.

Check the unit for damages, do not use it in case of damages.

Make sure that the unit operating voltage corre-sponds to the voltage of your mains.

Place the thermopot on a dry flat surface keep-ing at least a 20 cm gap between the thermo-pot body and the wall or furniture and at least a 30 cm gap above the thermopot.

Open the lid (8) by pressing the button (6) and holding on it (pic. 1).

Fill the thermopot with water using a suitable bowl, do not exceed the maximal water level mark (15) «MACK».

Insert the power cord (16) connector into the socket (12) on the thermopot body, and the power cord (16) plug into the mains socket.

The control panel (5) will show the boiling mode indicator (19) “BOILING” and the keep warm mode indicator (24) “85°”. The keep warm tem-perature “85°” is set by default.
Note: – during long water boiling the boiling mode indicator (19) “BOILING” will be flashing
- After long water boiling the thermopot will switch to the keep warm mode, the indica-tor (19) “BOILING” will go out, the keep warm mode indicator (21) “KEEP WARM” will be flashing and the indicator (24) “85°” will glow constantly.
- Note: – the thermopot uses a long-boiling tech-nology which allows to significantly reduce the chlorine level in water.
- Drain the water; to do this, you must unlock the activation of the water pump by pressing the button (27) “UN/LOCK”, the indicator (26) “ ” will light up.
Attention! Be careful while draining the water to avoid burns by hot water.
Version 1:
- place a suitable bowl, for instance, a cup under the spout (4) and press the water dispense but-ton (3) with the rim of the cup.
Version 2:
- place a suitable bowl under the spout (4) and press the water dispense button (25) “DISPENSE”.
Note:
- the water is dispensed only when the indicator (26) “ ” is switched on; if you have pressed the button (27) “UN/LOCK” and haven’t taken any action, the indicator (26) will go out in 10 seconds.
Version 3:
- use the hand pump (18), first unlock the hand pump by setting the lock (17) to the position “UN Lock”;
- place a suitable bowl under the spout (4);
- start pressing the hand pump (18), water will be pouring from the spout (4).
- after you finish pouring water, set the block (17) to the position “Lock”.
- To switch the thermopot off, press the water temperature selection button (20) “TEMP.SET” and select the “temperature declining” mode. The indicator (23) “TEMP DECLINING” will light up.
- To switch the thermopot off, disconnect the power plug (16) from the mains socket.
- Open the thermopot lid (8) and wait until it cools down completely.
- Before removing the lid (8) open it halfway, press on the lock (9) from above, hold on the button (6) and remove the lid (8) by pulling it towards the control panel (5) (pic. 2).
- Carefully tilt the thermopot to drain the remain-ing water.
- Install the lid (8) back to its place. To do this, position the lid (8) at a small angle, press the lock (9) and insert the lid (8) to its installation place. Release the lock (9). Before using the thermopot make sure that the lid (8) is fixed properly with the lock (9).
USAGE OF THERMOPOT
- Open the lid (8) by pressing the button (6) and holding it (pic. 1).
- Fill the thermopot with water using a suitable bowl, do not exceed the maximal water level mark (15) «MAKC».
- Insert the power cord (16) connector into the socket (12) on the thermopot body, and the power cord (16) plug into the mains socket.
- The boiling mode indicator (19) “BOILING” and the keep warm indicator (24) «85°» will light up on the control panel (5).
- The keep warm temperature «85°» is set by default.
Note: – during long water boiling the boiling mode indicator (19) “BOILING” will be flashing.

After long water boiling the thermopot will switch to the keep warm mode, the indicator (19) “BOILING” will go out, the keep warm mode indicator (21) “KEEP WARM” will be flashing and the indicator (24) “85°” will glow constantly.

As the water is cooling down, the indicator (21) “KEEP WARM” will be flashing. When the water in the thermopot cools down to the temperature “85°”, the indicator (21) will glow constantly and the water temperature will be maintained.

If the water temperature goes significantly below the preset value, for instance, if you have added some water, the boiling mode will be switched on, the indicator (21) “KEEP WARM” will go out and the indicator (19) “BOILING” will light up. After boiling the water temperature will be maintained depending on the preset value and will be shown with the indicators (24).

To change the required keep warm temperature, press the temperature setting button (19) «TEMP.SET». You can select the keep warm temperature «45°-85°-95°».

Recommended temperature for brewing tea and making other beverages:
- «45°» – water temperature for powdered baby milk
- «85°» – green and yellow tea
- «95°» – black tea

The preset temperature is shown by the corresponding indicators (24).
Note: – to reboil the water, press the button (22) “REBOIL”. The indicator (19) “BOILING” will light up. To switch the reboiling mode off, press the button (22) “REBOIL” again, the indicator (19) “BOILING” will go out and the thermopot will switch back to the keep warm mode. -
Drain the water; to do this, you must unlock the activation of the water pump by pressing the button (27) «UN/LOCK», the indicator (26) “ ” will light up.
Attention! Be careful when pouring out water to avoid burns by hot water.
Version 1:
- place a suitable bowl, for instance, a cup under the spout (4) and press the water dispense button (3) with the rim of the cup.
Version 2:
- place a suitable bowl under the spout (4) and press the water dispense button (25) “DISPENSE”.
Note:
- the water is dispensed only when the indicator (26) “ ” is switched on; if you have pressed the button (27) “UN/LOCK” and haven’t taken any action, the indicator (26) will go out in 10 seconds.
Version 3:
- use the hand pump (18), first unlock the hand pump by setting the lock (17) to the position “UN Lock”;
- place a suitable bowl under the spout (4);
- start pressing the hand pump (18), the water will be pouring from the spout (4).
- after you finish pouring water, set the block (17) to the position “Lock”.
- To switch the thermopot off, press the water temperature selection button (20) “TEMP.SET” and select the “temperature declining” mode. The indicator (23) “TEMP DECLINING” will light up.
- To switch the thermopot off, disconnect the power plug (16) from the mains socket.
- Open the thermopot lid (8) and wait until it cools down completely, remove the lid (8) (see the chapter BEFORE THE FIRST USE), drain the water, install the lid (8) back to its place and put the thermopot away for storage.
CLEANING AND CARE
- Before cleaning, disconnect the thermopot from the mains, pour out water and let the thermopot cool down completely.
- Before removing the lid (8) open it, press on the lock (9) from above, hold on the button (6) and remove the lid (8) by pulling it towards the control panel (5) (pic. 2).
- Carefully tilt the thermopot to drain the remaining water.
- Install the lid (8) back to its place. To do this, position the lid (8) at a small angle, press the lock (9) and insert the lid (8) to its installation place. Release the lock (9). Before using the thermopot make sure that the lid (8) is fixed properly with the lock (9).
- Clean the outer surface of the thermopot with a slightly damp cloth and then wipe it dry.
- Use neutral detergents to remove dirt; do not use metal brushes and abrasive detergents.
- Do not immerse the thermopot and the power cord into water and other liquids.
- Do not wash the thermopot in a dishwashing machine.
Stains on the inner surface of the thermopot
The inner surface of the metal flask may change its color when exposed to
different water impurities.
- You can remove the stains with citric acid or vinegar.
- To remove the flavour of citric acid or vinegar, boil up water and pour it out.
- Repeat this procedure until the smell and taste vanish completely.
Descaling
- Scale, appearing inside the metal flask, influences the water taste and disturbs the heat exchange between water and the heating element, which can lead to overheating and malfunction.
- To remove scale, fill the thermopot with a mixture of one part ordinary vinegar and two parts water up to the maximal level mark (15) « MAKC ».
- Insert the power cord (16) connector into the socket (12) on the thermopot body, and the power cord (16) plug into the mains socket.
- The thermopot will be switched on in the boiling mode. After the water boiling unplug the thermopot and leave it filled with the vinegar solution overnight.
- In the morning pour out the vinegar solution, fill the thermopot with water up to the maximal level mark (15) « MAKC », boil and pour out the water.
- You can use special detergents for electric kettles to remove scale.
- If necessary, perform the cleaning procedure several times.
STORAGE
- Before taking the thermopot away for long storage, unplug it, let the unit cool down and pour out the remaining water.
- Clean the thermopot.
- Keep the thermopot out of reach of children and disabled persons.

For environment protection do not throw out the unit and the batteries (if
included), do not discard the unit and the batteries with usual household
waste after the service life expiration; apply to specialized centers for
further recycling.
The waste generated during the disposal of the unit is subject to mandatory
collection and consequent disposal in the prescribed manner.
For further information about recycling of this product apply to a local
municipal administration, a disposal service or to the shop where you
purchased this product.
The manufacturer preserves the right to change design, structure and
specifications not affecting general principles of the unit operation without
a preliminary notification due to which insignificant differences between the
manual and product may be observed. If the user reveals such
differences,please report them via e-mail
