FIX LV – Low Viscosity Orthodontic Adhesive

PRESENTATION:

1 syringe of FIX LV with 2 g and 10 tips.
DESCRIPTION: FIX LV is an orthodontic adhesive composed by methacrylate monomers and silica particles, providing a better adhesion on the surface of the tooth.
A low viscosity, light cured product, which does not drain, allows the professional to dominate the setting time of the material and place the wire after attaching the brackets. Due to its hydrophobic features, it should be handled on dry teeth, without the contamination of the saliva or the oil of the jets, which may interfere with the adhesion on the enamel. The need for acid conditioning prior to its use is an essential factor to a successful result
COMPOSITION: Monomers, photoinitiators, UV fluorescent agent, pigments and filler particles.
INDICATION: FIX LV is a low-viscosity, photopolymerizable product, which promotes the placement of metal, ceramics and polycarbonate brackets by indirect bonding.
MODE OF USE: Laboratory Phase:

  1. Select the brackets;
  2. Select the trays;
  3. Perform the prophylaxis of the dental arches which will be cast;
  4. Perform the cast with alginate. Create the model with dental stone, which must not present any blisters or flaws;
  5. Perform the cutting of superior and inferior models so that the superior model could not include the palatal area and the inferior area could not include the palatal area and the inferior area could not Include the buccal floor area. Both the models must not present any retentivity. Perform the cutting of superior and inferior models;
  6. Demarcate the lines of orientation, through the vestibular surface and the lingual surface, corresponding to the long axis of the teeth, by marking also where the accessories (brackets and hooks) will be placed. Apply the isolation for resins, preventing the direct contact between the stone and the resin. Dry for 30 minutes;
  7. Bond the brackets and hooks with FIX LV at the demarcated level, removing the excess of resin. Light cure each tooth for 40 seconds.

Preparation of the Tooth:

  1. Perform the prophylaxis of the teeth to be bonded, with the help of a Robson brush, pumice and water, in order to remove the biofilm and other contaminant agents from the surface of the enamel;
  2. Wash the cleaned surfaces with water;
  3. The teeth isolation control is essential: place cheek retractors, isolating and drying the operation field with cotton rolls and keeping the high power saliva pump on;
  4. Perform the conditioning of the enamel, generally performed with a 37% phosphoric acid gel applied from 15 to 30 seconds. Vacuum the acid agent from the surface of the teeth;
  5. Rinse thoroughly with water the area on which the acid was applied, keeping the saliva pump in its position. Thus, the contamination of the enamel with the saliva is prevented. If such a thing happens, repeat the acid conditioning procedure by a few seconds (10 seconds maximum);
  6. Dry the entire surface of the enamel with air jets free from humidity or oil, keeping the operation field dry. The tooth enamel must have a white, flat, dull appearance; if such aspect is not observed, as observed commonly on very old enamels, the application of the phosphoric acid by more 10 seconds must be repeated;
  7. Apply a thin coat of adhesive on the teeth and on the individual bases of the brackets and light cure the adhesive for 80 seconds (20 seconds per margin of the bracket) in each tooth;
  8. Place FIX LV on the base of all brackets, position the tray (one arch per time) by adapting them to the teeth and by pressing them gently;
  9. Light cure each tooth for 40 seconds;
  10. Remove the tray carefully by using a periodontal curette from the lingual margin to the buccal margin;
  11. Remove the excess of resin around the bracket and check with the help of a dental floss if all the contacts are free;
  12. Place the arch.

WARNINGS AND PRECAUTIONS:

Product for professional use only. In case of allergy, discontinue use immediately and advise the patient to seek medical advice. Unpolymerized product may cause sensitization and should not come into contact with oral tissues or skin. Wear mask, goggles and procedure gloves when handling the product. The patient should wear goggles during the procedure. Avoid contact of phosphoric acid with mucosa, skin and eyes. It can cause burns. In case of contact, wash immediately with plenty of water. If necessary, consult a physician. Apply a thin layer of the product to bond the bracket to the tooth enamel surface. Thick layers can impair adhesion. The patient should be advised to contact the dentist in case of detachment of the bracket In case of bracket swallowing, consult a physician. A minimum intensity power of 400 mW/cm2 is required for the light curing unit Equipment with lower intensity power should require longer photoactivation periods. Do not use the product after its expiration date. Do not reuse empty package. Keep out of reach of children. Single use product. After polymerization the product cannot be used again; the procedure must be redone.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

Do not use the product in patients with unsatisfactory dental health (biofilm, dental calculus, periodontal disease and caries lesion). These are clinical conditions that restricts the indication of orthodontic treatment Do not use in patients with hypersensitivity to the components of the product
ADVERSE EFFECTS:
As the product is to be used at dental enamel only, no side effect is expected if the product is used according to the instructions.

STORAGE AND TRANSPORT CONDTONS:

The package should be closed immediately after use. Store the product in its original package and in a clean and dry place. Do not expose the product to high temperatures or intense light Store it at temperatures between 2 °C/35,6 °F and 30 °C/86 V. Do not freeze the product. Protect the product from external contamination. Do not store the product near Eugenokbased materials, as they inhibit proper polymerization of the product.

DISPOSAL:

The product must be disposed of according to the legislation in force in your country.
