HOFFEN BS-2068-A Bathroom Scale
INTENDED USE
The bathroom scale is a device for measuring body weight. Simple operation and
a special platform design make it a useful household appliance. The devise is
meant for individual indoor use. It is nod designed for commercial or
professional use.
The scale is not suitable for weighing persons over 150 kg.
Following the instructions in this manual will ensure safe installation and
use of the appliance.

SAFEGUARDS
- Read the entire manual before you start using the device.
- Follow the basic safeguards in order to prevent the risk of fire or electrocution while using electric devices, especially in the presence of children.
- This appliance is designed for indoor use only.
- Use the device only for its intended purpose.
- Do not use electric devices while taking a bath or shower.
- Do not use the device near sources of heat (radiators, fire).
- Disconnect the device from the power source (remove the batteries) when the device is not used or before you start cleaning the device.
- Do not clean the device with corrosive cleaning agents.
- Protect the device against penetration by water or other liquids.
- Do not immerse the device in water or other liquids.
- To avoid accidents, do not place the device on a slippery surface.
- Do not jump on the scale.
- The device is not a toy.
- Children may not play with the device.
- Do not step on the bathroom scale with bare and wet feet – risk of falling down.
- Retain the instruction manual and the packaging, if possible.

KIT CONTENTS
Open the packaging and carefully take the device out. Make sure that the kit is complete and that its components are undamaged. If you find that any components are missing or damaged, contact the vendor and do not use the device. Retain the packaging or dispose of it in accordance with local regulations.
Caution! To keep children safe, do not leave packaging parts (plastic bags, cardboard boxes, expanded polystyrene elements etc.) freely accessible. Danger of suffocation
OPERATION
Battery installation/replacement
- Make sure that the scale is switched off.
- Remove the battery compartment cover in the direction of the below arrow on it.
- Remove the dead batteries (if present).
- Insert 3 new AAA 1,5 V batteries as indicated by the markings in the battery compartment.
- Replace the battery compartment cover
Caution

The device is designed to be used with 3 x AAA 1,5 V batteries.

The batteries are included in the kit.

When installing the new battery, observe the polarity markings in the battery compartment.

Use the type of battery recommended for this device: AAA 1,5 V.

Do not dispose of used batteries with municipal waste. Put them into special containers for dead batteries.

Do not recharge batteries not designed for that purpose (non-rechargeable batteries).

Do not short-circuit battery terminals. Never expose batteries to direct heat sources such as excessive sunlight, radiators, or fire.

Explosion hazard! Batteries must not be dismantled, put into fire, or short-circuited. -
Always remove batteries when you do not use the device – this will prevent damage to the device in the event that electrolyte leaks out of the batteries.

Remove dead batteries from the device immediately.

Electrolytes may leak out of dead batteries causing damage to the device.

If any acid from a battery is spilled on your hands, rinse them under running water. If any gets into your eyes, contact a doctor. The acid contained in batteries may cause irritation or burns.

Swallowing a battery may have fatal consequences! Keep batteries away from children and pets. Seek medical assistance immediately if a battery is swallowed.
Weighing
- Set the balance on an even, stable, dry, and homogeneous surface. In order to ensure a correct reading, do not place the scale on a rug/carpet.
- Press the central part of the scale with your foot to switch on the device.
- Step onto the scale and wait until the readout display starts flashing. You will obtain the final result of the weighing in a moment.
- The scale will automatically turn off after about 10 seconds of inactivity
Changing units of weight
After switching on the scale you can change the unit of weight using the
button on the bottom of the scale. Each pressing of the button selects the
unit of weight in the following order: kg (kilogram)/LB (lb – pounds).

CLEANING AND CARE
- Remove the batteries before you start cleaning the device.
- Wipe the device using a damp cloth with a drop of dishwashing detergent, then wipe the appliance dry.
- Do not clean the device with corrosive cleaning agents.
- Protect the device against penetration by water or other liquids.
- Do not immerse the device in water or other liquids.
REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE
The device does not contain any user-serviceable parts. Do not attempt to
repair the device on your own. Always have the device repaired by a
professional.
STORAGE AND TRANSPORTATION
Always keep the device in a dry, well-ventilated place inaccessible to
children. Protect the appliance against vibration and shock during transport

- Keep the packaging materials out of children’s reach, as the materials can pose a hazard.
- The packaging should be disposed of in accordance with local regulations
Correct disposal of the device
- According to the WEEE Directive 2012/19/EU, the crossed-out wheelie bin symbol is used to label all electric and electronic devices requiring segregation.
- Do not dispose of the spent product with domestic waste: hand it over to an electric and electronic device collection and recycling center.
- Hazardous components in electronic and electrical equipment have a negative impact on the environment and human health.
- Plastics contained in the device can be recycled in accordance with the specific marking. By recycling materials and spent equipment you will help to protect the environment.
- Information on electric and electronic device collection centers is available from local government agencies or from the vendor.
- Worn-out and dead batteries must be discarded in specially marked containers, and delivered to special waste collection points or to electronic equipment vendors.
CE DECLARATION
The device has been designed, manufactured and placed on the market in
accordance with the requirements of the „New Approach” Directives and
therefore the product has been CE marked and has been issued with a
declaration of conformity made available to market regulators.
WARRANTY
In order to claim a product, you must deliver the product to the Customer
Service Center at any Biedronka store.

- The Manufacturer of this product grants a 36-month warranty valid from the purchase date. Should you find any defect, submit a complaint at the place of purchase.
- A defective/damaged product means a product fails to provide the features described in the Instruction Manual due to the intrinsic properties of the appliance.
- The Beneficiary under the warranty shall deliver the appliance to the Customer Service Point at a relevant store in order to submit a complaint about the equipment. When asserting your rights under the warranty, you need to present proof of purchase (purchase receipt, invoice) together with a description of the device defect in as much detail as possible, in particular of the external manifestations of the defect.
- The warranty excludes products with physical damage other than that caused by the manufacturer or distributor, including specifically any damage resulting from incorrect usage or force majeure.
- The warranty does not cover products from which the tamper-proof seal has been removed and products to which repairs, alterations, or structural modifications have been attempted.
- The warranty does not cover components subject to natural wear and tear during operation.
- It is recommended that the complete product be returned in order to facilitate defect verification.
- This warranty for the sold consumer product does not exclude, restrict, or suspend the rights of the buyer related to the regulations concerning implied warranty for defects pursuant to the Civil Code of 23 April 1964 (Journal of Laws Dz.U.2014.121).
- The warranty shall be applicable within the territory of the Republic of Poland.
