BEFORE USING

SELECT THE PLACE OF USE

  • Use this grill only outdoors in a well-ventilated area. Do not use in enclosed spaces such as homes, tents, caravans, in a garage, covered walkway, or any other enclosed area.
  • Keep grill on a safe, level surface at all times.
  • Do not use grill within five feet of any combustible material. Combustible materials include, but are not limited to, wood or treated wood decks, patios, and porches.

AMOUNT OF COAL TO USE

  • The amount of charcoal depends on what you are grilling and the size of the grill.
  • Grilling small, tender pieces of food will require less cooking time than grilling large cuts of meat.

FIRST USE OF THE GRILL
It is recommended to heat the grill and keep the fuel red hot, with the lid on, for at least 30 minutes before cooking for the first time.

GRILL PREPARATION

  1. Open the lid of the barbecue with the help of the upper handle that does not close.
  2. Remove the charcoal grate and, if necessary, clean any ashes or bits of charcoal from the grill baskets.
  3. Add the charcoal you will need. Charcoal requires oxygen to burn, so make sure nothing is blocking the vent holes.
  4. Open the grill vents by turning the plates.
  5. Replace the charcoal grate so you can add food to be cooked.

USE OF GLOVES
Always wear contact heat resistance level 2 or higher barbecue mitts or gloves when using your charcoal grill. The ventilation holes, the handle and the body of the barbecue become hot during the grilling process, be sure to keep your hands and forearms protected.

IGNITION FLUID
Avoid using starter fluid, as it can impart a chemical taste to your food.
Fire starters and lighting cubes are a much cleaner and more efficient way to light charcoal.

PREHEAT THE GRILL

  1. Preheat grill with lid closed for 10-15 minutes to prepare the grill.

  2. With red hot charcoal the temperature under the lid should be up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit, the heat will help loosen any bits of food that may be left on the grill so they are easy to remove with a steel bristle brush stainless for grills

  3. Preheating the grill sufficiently will help to brown your food better and also prevent food from sticking to the grill.
Note : Use a stainless steel bristle grill brush. Change the brush if you find loose bristles on the cooking grate or on the brush.

  4. Put oil on the food, not on the cooking grate. Oil prevents food from sticking and also adds flavor to food.

  5. Brushing or lightly spraying the food with oil works better than brushing the cooking grate.

USING THE LID
If you keep the lid of the barbecue closed for as long as possible, you can:

  1. Keep the cooking grate hot enough to brown food.
  2. Speed up cooking time and prevent food from drying out.
  3. Catch the smokiness that develops when fat and juices vaporize on the grill.
  4. Prevent flare-ups by limiting oxygen.

TIME AND ROOM TEMPERATURE CON TROL

  • Be especially careful if you are grilling in colder weather or at a higher altitude, cooking time will be longer.
  • Strong winds will raise the temperature of the charcoal grill, so always stay close to the grill and keep the lid closed as long as possible so the heat doesn’t escape.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Follow the basic maintenance instructions to keep your barbecue in good condition and to its best use for many years.

  • For proper airflow and best grilling, remove accumulated ash and old charcoal from the bottom of the grill before use. Make sure all charcoal is completely extinguished and grill is cool before doing so.
  • You may notice “paint-like” flakes on the inside of the lid. During use, smoke and grease vapors slowly oxidize to carbon and settle on the inside of the lid. Brush charred grease from inside of lid with a bristle stainless steel grill brush. To further minimize buildup, the inside of the lid can be wiped clean with a damp cloth after cooking while the grill is still warm (not hot).
  • If you subject your grill to a particularly harsh environment, you may need to clean the exterior more frequently. Rain, chemicals and salt water can cause flash rust to appear. We recommend cleaning the exterior of the grill with a damp cloth and warm soapy water. Then dry the barbecue with a dry cloth or paper.
  • Do not use sharp or abrasive objects to clean grill surfaces.
  • To improve the transport of the barbecue, remember to fold the central and lateral trays.
