Thera Studio Semi Automatic Espresso Machine
Thank you for choosing our coffee machine. Before using the appliance, and to
ensure the best use, carefully read these instructions.
The safety precautions enclosed herein reduce the risk of death, injury and
electrical shock when correctly adhered to. Keep the manual in a safe place
for future reference, along with the completed warranty card, purchase receipt
and package. If applicable, pass these instructions on to the next owner of
the appliance.
Always follow basic safety precautions and accident prevention measures when
using an electrical appliance.
We assume no liability for customer failing to comply with these requirements.
SECURITY INSTRUCTIONS
When using any electrical appliance, basic safety precautions should always be observed.

Read all instructions before using.

In case of emergency, immediately remove the plug from power outlet.

Check the voltage indicated on the rating label on the appliance does in fact match that of your electrical system.

This appliance is not intended for use by persons(including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience, and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

Do not operate the appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions, has been dropped or damaged in any manner.
Return the appliance to authorized service facility for examination, electrical or mechanical adjustment, or repair. -
Always unplug the appliance when not in use or before cleaning. Allow to cool before adding or removing parts, and before cleaning the appliance.

To protect against fire, electric shock and personal injury, do not immerse cord, plug or appliance in water or other liquid. Never clean the appliance or the power cord if those are humid. Avoid touching the appliance with wet hands.

Do not run cord under carpeting. Do not cover cord with throw rugs, runners or similar coverings. Arrange cord away from traffic area and where it will not be tripped over.

Avoid the use of an extension cord because the extension cord may overheat and cause a risk of fire. However, if you have to use an extension cord, the cord shall be rated not less than 2000 watts. Only use an earthed socket to connect the appliance.

Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven, metal surface. Do not place the espresso machine near the edge of a bench or table during operation. Ensure the surface is level, clean and free of water and other substances.

It is normal for the plug to feel warm to the touch; however, a loose fit between the AC outlet (receptacle) and plug may cause overheating and distortion of the plug. Contact a qualified electrician to replace loose or worn outlet.

Use the appliance only as described in this manual. Any other use or accessory attachments not recommend by the manufacture may cause fire, electric shock, or injury to persons.

Do not place anything other than cups for warming on top of the espresso machine.

Ensure the portafilter is firmly inserted and secured into the group head before using the machine. Never remove the portafilter during the brewing operation as the machine is under pressure.

Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.

Hot water, steam, spout are hot. Danger of burning injuries. Do not put steam or hot water towards the body.

We recommend using cold, filtered water. We do not recommend the use of de-mineral- ized or distilled water as this may affect the taste of the espresso and how the machine is designed to function. Do not use the machine with empty water tank.

Use only water in the appliance! Do not put any other liquids or foods in the water tank.
WARNING: The filling aperture or cover or handle must not be opened during use.
- This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar application such as: indoor & domestic use only; by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments; bed and breakfast type environments; staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments.
CAUTION:
- Don’t move the water tank away when the machine is still working to avoid the water spilling or the system absorbing air in.
- Hot steam is dangerous, do not put it towards the body.
- To save energy, unplug the machine when not in use for extended periods.
Automatic power off: the machine will stop automatically after 8 minutes of inactivity. You can touch any button to wake it up.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Start up
- Fill water tank with water (filtered pure water strongly recommended).
- Plug it in and the machine will turn on by beeping and the three indicators will blink once, entering stand by mode.
Coffee / Espresso brewing
- Heating Up: Touch any key to heat up as indicators will blink.
- Stand by mode: All indicators turn steady when heating completed, machine is ready for operation.
- Choose the right filter for one cup, two cups or E.S.E. pods and add the right volume of powder or a pod, tamp the powder to be at the right density or position the pod to be at the center carefully.
- Insert the portafilter into the filter holder and rotate to make it tight enough.
- Press one cup / two cups button to brew espresso.
- The indicator will keep blinking while brewing till finished; press any key to stop at any time.
- The machine will switch to stand by mode with all indicators on after coffee brewing.
- Rotate to release the portafilter and empty the waste coffee ground, clean the filter care- fully for next use.
How to make cappuccino, latte or hot water
- Heating Up: Touch the steam key to heat up as indicator will blink.
- When steam button is steady instead of blinking, it is heated up and ready to dispense steam. Turn the steam dial from coffee position to steam/water position to dispense some steam and then press the key to stop and get ready.
- Put in around 80-120 ml milk into the milk frothing pitcher to get ready to froth milk. It is recommended to use full milk for a perfect frothing result instead of skimmed milk or low fat milk.
- Dip the steam wand into the pitcher with around 10-15 mm, and touch the steam key to start dispensing steam to froth milk till the cold milk is frothed double or triple in volume and meantime the temperature is hot to be at around 60-70 °C.
- Repeat the above indications to make espresso, it‘s recommended to prepare in advance.
- Pour the milk foam into the espresso cup and enjoy.
- Tips: Full milk and cooled in fridge is best for milk frothing. To have perfect milk frothing, always choose to use the right pitcher, right angle and depth during frothing. To make hot water, you just need to double click/press the steam key and then hot water dispenses from the steam wand; you can touch any key to stop dispensing or it stops automatically when reaching 120 ml.
Programming the cup size
- Insert and fasten the portafilter with right filter and coffee ground. In stand by mode, long press one or two cups button to start brewing coffee(do not release your finger till reaching desired volume).
- The coffee machine will keep the programmed time every time you prepare a cup of coffee.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Machine cleaning
- To clean the inside parts of the system, you can choose to repeat the prescribed procedures of coffee brewing several times without coffee in the filters, and try to brush the inside of the group head with a soft brush from time to time.
- Clean the casing with a soft damp cloth.
- The water tank, drip tray and filters can be washed in warm water (not hot water).
Note: Before attempting to clean the appliance, remove the plug from the power outlet.
- Do not immerse the machine, and/or power cable in water or other liquids.
- Allow the machine to cool before starting the cleaning procedure.
Note: Do not wash the filter holder arm or the filter in a dishwasher.
Descaling
Choose the recommended decalcifier or scaler remover from your coffee machine
provider:
- Fill water tank with 500 ml pure water (around half of the total capacity).
- Pour into the water tank 3 g scale remover, wait for 5 minutes or stir to dissolve.
- Install the water tank to the correct position carefully and long press the three buttons for no less than 3s to enter descaling mode. The machine will start to work till it stops automatically.
- Wait for 10 minutes and pour pure water into water tank, enter descaling mode again to clean the machine till it stops.
Suggested descaling interval:
- Soft water (filtered water): Every 2000 brew cycles.
- Hard water (tap water): Every 1000 brew cycles.
TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM | SOLUTION |

Indicators off | Check plug or touch any button to wake up. |
No coffee dispensed | Make sure the powder is correctly grinded and tamped, |
brewing chamber properly rinsed, water tank filled and correctly fitted.
Coffee not hot enough| Preheat your cup, descale if necessary.
Coffee comes out slowly, in drips.| Scale has built up in the machine, descale
the machine or change powder.
No hot water or coffee| The water tank is empty.
Noisy pump| Repeat the brewing procedure. Make sure the water tank is filled
and correctly fitted.
Filter holder leaking| Make sure the coffee is grinded at right level and
portafilter well inserted and rotated on tight enough.
Indicators blinking and beeping| Fill in water and touch any button to stop.
Milk frothing foam not good| Clean up the steam wand and make sure the air
inlet hole is open, upright.

The symbol with the crossed dustbin shown on the package indicates that the product at the end of its service life shall be collected as separate waste.
