Installation
-
Start by removing the front door panels. Locate the keepers that hide the door hardware. The keepers will be combination of 7mm and T-20 torx bits. There is one on the top outer corner, in the door grab handle on top, in the door release, in the
door cubby on the upper inner side, one on the top side of the cup holder, and two 7mm’s under the door panels. -
Remove the red reflector on the outer side of the panel by pushing it toward the outer side (away from the vehicle). It will be tight. Then, remove the 7mm bolt underneath the keeper. Once everything is off, use a panel tool to unsnap the door panel. Hold the door panel up, release all plugs and cables, and remove the door panel completely.
-
Next, remove the vapor barriers, unscrew and disconnect the speakers, and unclip the speaker wire keeper from where it is attached on the door’s metal surface.
Clean the car metal surface thoroughly with a cleaning solution such as acetone or alcohol and a microfiber cloth. Now the kit is ready to be installed.
- Peel off the backing paper from the top section of the kit piece to start. Then, take the door cable and put it through the large hole at the top of the kit, and center the kit piece around the door plug holes to ensure proper placement before pressing the top of the piece down.
Then, remove the rest of the backing paper, feed the door harness cable through the large hole on the inner side of kit piece, and use a roller to apply the rest of the kit from top to bottom, ensuring the piece is aligned with the holes.
-
Press down onto your car speaker hole area, feeling for the speaker wire. Use a razor blade to cut around the speaker hole, being careful to not cut the wire harness. Take this cut out and apply it behind the speaker hole on the outdoor skin to act as a backwave. With a blade, score the material where the wire harness is and tuck the harness between the two flaps.
Reinstall your speaker, replace the door panels and plug the cables back in. Repeat steps 1-5 for both front doors. -
Now, move on to the rear doors. First, use a panel tool to widget into the areas between the door panel and door to unsnap the door panels. Remove the vapor barriers and clean the car metal surface thoroughly.
-
Then, peel the backing paper off the top section of the kit piece. Align the top of the piece with the door holes and ridges, pressing the section down once it is correct. Then, remove the rest of the material, rolling the material down from the perimeter of the doors first, then work your way inward. Once you are done, replace the door panels by pressing them into their correct plugs.
