INSTALLATION
-
Start by unclipping the side panels on your wheel wells. Begin from the top of the side panels. If you have a factory subwoofer, remove the torque bolt at the front to unplug the subwoofer. Then, remove the main floor piece by sliding it back and up, and remove the side carpet pieces by removing the 6 clipsthat cover the tops of the torque bolts.
-
Next, unclip the flap/panel that sits on the back of the backseat. It will be tight, so use a clip removal tool or the back side of a hammer to wedge the clips out. Once thispanel is off, it will reveal the 3 bolts holding down the backseats of the Jeep.
-
To remove the backseats, you will need an 18mm socket to remove the bolts. Take out the 2 bolts in the back and the bolts in front of the backseats. When all bolts are out, removethe smaller seat first, then the larger seat. Be sure you also remove the seatbelt bolts. Then, remove the carpet under the backseat area.
-
Now that your car’s metal surface is exposed in the correct area, prep the metal surface for application. Use a shop vacuum if necessary, then use a microfiber cloth and Acetone (use a breathing mask). Wipe away any moisture, oil, debris, etc. Then let it air dry for an appropriate amount of time. The point is to get the surface clean to ensure material glue contact.
-
Start installing the kit by mocking up the wheel well pieces. There is a different between the left and right wheel wells, and you will have to unscrew some plugs on both wheel well sides. Make sure it lines up correctly before you pull the backing paper off and start rolling the material down using a roller. Make sure the material is applied evenly without no airbubbles. Use a razor blade point or household needle to release any air pockets.
-
Repeat these steps for all pieces, moving on to the main trunk floor piece, then the smaller floor pieces. After all pieces are installed, double check that no holes are blocked for the mounting hardware and all the material has solid contact. Last, replace the carpet, seats, and panels and tighten all thebolts securely
Recommended Installation Instructions
-
A. Prepping the Surface
After removing interior door panels, you are ready to clean the metal areas that will be insulated. If the metal has “new” look without imperfections, then take a microfiber cloth and wipe away any dust and debris. If the metal is showing signs of age like rust, we recommend using Acetone with a breathing mask to wipe off debris and loose particles. A shop vacuum might be needed to remove loose debris on the floorboard. -
B. Installing Panels
Now that you have a clean surface, you are ready to start applying the sheets. We recommend using a roller to releaseair pockets that might be lingering from trapped air. You want to make sure that you have rolled those out to theedge and all the material has a good seal to the metal surface. Make sure all pieces are installed and inspected before reinstalling the interior.
