First, remove your door panel, speaker, and vapour barrier if it is near the speaker hole. Get all metal surfaces clean from dust, oil, wax and moisture. We recommend using a microfiber cloth and a quick-drying solvent such as Acetone. If you have rust, it may require more attention to ensure the material will stick well. Let the surface air dry, then it is ready for installation.

Installation

Centre the material over the speaker hole. This is where each piece should be installed. When you are ready to apply the material, remove the backing paper and start from the top down using a roller to minimize any trapped air pockets. If you see any trapped air, you can use the point of a razor blade or a sewing needle to poke a hole and push down the material. Press down tautly on the material around the speaker hole. Use a blade to cut the material along the edge of the speaker hole of the speaker making sure not to cut any wires. Place this cutout piece directly behind the speaker (inside the speaker hole), to act as a back wave to improve bass response.

Repeat this step for all speaker holes, then your installation is complete. It should look like the image on the left. Last, replace the speaker and the door panel to enjoy a quieter ride and an improved audio system. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out with the information provided below.
