Safety warnings

  • The PROTUB equipment should NOT be used for anything other than the uses given in this instruction manual.
  • Make sure all the connections are correct before starting the equipment.
  • Before starting the equipment, make sure that the brush is inside the duct you want to clean.
  • Make sure your PROTUB is placed on a flat and stable surface.
  • Everybody who uses the PROTUB equipment must be properly trained.
  • Hold the flexible rotor shaft firmly before starting the brush motor. Always hold the flexible rotor shaft firmly while using the brush.
  • Safety glasses must always be worn to prevent any possible spray or splashes from reaching the operator’s eyes.
  • Fasten your PROTUB properly during transport.
  • Keep objects, loose clothing, hair, etc. well away from the machine’s moving parts.
  • Do not handle the equipment with wet or damp hands.
  • Do not use the equipment in areas where there are flammable liquids.
  • To avoid electric shock, never allow the equipment to be exposed to rain. Store the equipment indoors in a cool, dry place.
  • Do not open the PROTUB duct cleaning robot’s control box. In the event of a fault, contact the TEINNOVA Technical Assistance Service on +34 941 44 50 56.

Conditions of use

PROTUB is an electric brushing machine for professional cleaning and sweeping of chimneys up to a maximum diameter of 400 mm, for cleaning the interior of tubes in heat-exchangers, both Fire-tube and Water-tube, down to a minimum diameter of 14 mm and for cleaning ventilation or air-conditioning ducts, up to a maximum diameter of 400 mm. Suitable accessories must be used for each type of duct. You can assemble a flexible rotor shaft, that allows up to 10 meters of pipe to be cleaned from the same point on the pipe for the 6 mm diameter shaft or up to 15 meters of pipe when using the 10 mm diameter shaft. It can equally be used for fume exhaust ducts and extraction hoods.
Any other use is strictly forbidden without the written permission of the manufacturer.
Never place the PROTUB equipment in a horizontal position un- der any circumstances, as this will cause the machine to malfunction.

1 STOP Immediately stops the electric motor.
2 RUN Starts the electric motor so the brush rotation can be started using

the rotation selector.

Operating instructions

Steps for a correct PROTUB installation:

  1. Placement of your PROTUB:
    Put your PROTUB in its working position on a flat and stable surface as shown in the image.TEiNNOVA Protub Tube Cleaning System -

  2. Fitting the hose and rotor shaft:
    Your PROTUB can use two types of flexible rotor shaft (one with ø 6 mm and one with ø 10 mm), designed specifically for this machine.
    Fit the chosen flexible rotor shaft to carry out the work as shown in the figure.

  3. Brush assembly:
    The flexible rotor shaft head of your PROTUB is designed to allow special brushes to be fitted which allow you to work more efficiently and comfortably. These brushes are only supplied by Teinnova.

  4. Connection to mains power:
    The connection to your PROTUB is done using the electrical connection cable that comes with the machine. This cable has a standard mains plug at one end and a special power connector (blue) for the machine at the other end. Connect the cable to the mains and then connect it to your PROTUB.   5. Connection to the water supply:
    Connect the hose to a water supply with a minimum pressure of 2 bar. There are adapters for various taps that are offered as optional accessories. Connect the hose to your PROTUB water inlet connector.
    If the equipment is to be used without mains water supply, the time of use should be moderated to avoid excessive heating due to friction.

  6. Switching on and start-up:
    The operation of your PROTUB device is controlled using a display located on the front of the machine.
    Once turned on, the speed of rotation of the brush can be set.
    Starts the electric motor so the brush rotation can be started using the pneumatic pedal. If you want to increase the rotation speed of the electric motor, press the Increase rotation speed button. This button is shown in the figure. The value will be shown on the Display.
    If you want to decrease the rotation speed of the electric motor, press the Decrease rotation speed button. This button is shown in the figure. The value will be shown on the Display.
    Immediately stops the electric motor, using the pneumatic pedal to block the brush drive.

  7. For brush spin direction and rotation starting from the machine.
    To select the direction of spin you want the brush to use and to start the brush rotating, you can use the machine’s selector.

  8. Selecting the direction of spin and starting the brush rotation using the remote control:
    To select the direction of spin you want the brush to use and to start the brush rotating, you can use the remote control.
    To use the remote control, the machine’s selector must be in its rest position, vertical.

  9. Disconnecting your PROTUB from the water supply:
    Disconnect the water supply hose from the water tap.

  10. Disconnecting from mains power:
    Disconnect you PROTUB from the electrical supply. This is done with a counter- clockwise turn of the blue connector as shown in the figure.TEiNNOVA Protub

Transport

The machine has been designed to be transportable in a small van.
During transport the machine must be firmly secured to prevent any damage. It must also be placed in its normal working position (vertical) and the brakes on the front wheels activated.
It is not advisable to place the machine on a pallet or similar. The machine must be on a completely flat and horizontal surface.
The machine should never be placed in a horizontal position for transport. This could cause serious damage to the machine and prevent it working properly.

Maintenance and care

Keep the machine as clean as possible. Keep the equipment in a place protected from the weather.
Keep the machine in good condition, avoid knocking it or overloading it.
Keep connections clean to avoid clogged pipes that could cause serious damage to the main components of the machine.
Spare Parts:
TEINNOVA stocks spare parts for all the machine’s components as well as consumables for all the maintenance tasks shown in this manual.

Waste management

**** The materials used in the packaging are recyclable. Do not dispose of the packaging in household waste, but hand it in at official collection points for recycling.

Guarantee conditions

  1. TEINNOVA” guarantees its products for a period of 15 days as regards aesthetic defects or faults which are noticeable with the naked eye. In terms of all other manufacturing defects and faults in the products, the guarantee is of 1 year. The “Buyer” must notify “TEINNOVA” of the existence of any defects as soon as they are observed and in any case within a maximum deadline of 5 days from when they become apparent. Notification thereof outside of said deadline shall lead to the non-application of the guarantee. “TEINNOVA” reserves the right to request that the products be sent to the factory or the closest official Technical Support Service for their due inspection and the delivery costs are payable by the “Buyer”. Said costs shall be reimbursed if the product is proven to be effectively non-conforming. “TEINNOVA” will pick up and send the products to the factory or to the nearest official Technical Assistance Service for proper inspection. At that time, it will be determined whether the warranty will apply or it is within the warranty exclusions. If the guarantee is applicable, the transport, both collection at the customer’s facilities and return of the product, will be borne by TEINNOVA. If it is excluded from guarantee (point 2), the transport, both collection at the customer’s facilities and return of the product, will be borne by the customer. “TEINNOVA” reserves the right to overrule the application of the guarantee when there is no evidence of the product’s non-conformity and it shall not apply said
    guarantee until coverage has been expressly proven. In the case that the product is covered, “TEINNOVA” can replace it or determine the necessary repair method. All repair works that are carried out under the product guarantee must be carried out in “TEINNOVA” facilities or in those of the party it designates. The guarantee covers the materials and labour required to repair or replace the parts or elements considered as defective from origin. The maximum guaranteed amount or value shall be the maximum price of the sale of the product to the “Buyer”. Any claims made under the coverage of the guarantee shall not grant the right to delay and/or withhold payment of the corresponding invoice and/or any other pending invoices.

  2. Guarantee Exclusions: the following are excluded from the guarantee: actions, alterations or manipulations of the product that are carried out without the prior express authorisation of the “Seller”; indirect and/or consequential damage; damage caused by negligence, by improper use or by usage that does not conform to the instructions and intentional damage; faults due to adaptations made to the products or the use of parts that were not previously and expressly certified or authorised by the Seller; costs for detection of the fault; costs for collection or replacement (the latter two are unless the non-conformity is proven and within the limits established in section 1).
