Intended use

The product is an infrared (IR) thermometer. Use the product to measure surface temperature and count temperature readings. The product is not designed for medical use. The product is intended for indoor use only. Do not use it outdoors. Contact with moisture must be avoided under all circumstances. If you use the product for purposes other than those described, the product may be damaged. Improper use can result in short circuits, fires, or other hazards. The product complies with the statutory national and European requirements. For safety and approval purposes, you must not rebuild and/or modify the product. Read the operating instructions carefully and store them in a safe place. Make this product available to third parties only together with the operating instructions. General
  • The product is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
  • Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly. This may become dangerous playing material for children.
  • If you have questions which remain unanswered by these operating instructions, contact our technical support service or other technical personnel.
Handling
  • If it is no longer possible to operate the product safely, take it out of operation and protect it from any accidental use. Safe operation can no longer be guaranteed if the product:
    • is visibly damaged,
    • is no longer working properly,
    • has been stored for extended periods in poor ambient conditions or
    • has been subjected to any serious transport-related stresses.
  • Handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts or a fall even from a low height can damage the product.
  • Consult an expert when in doubt about the operation, safety or connection of the appliance.
Operating environment
  • Do not place the product under any mechanical stress.
  • Protect the appliance from extreme temperatures, strong jolts, flammable gases, steam and solvents.
  • Protect the product from high humidity and moisture.
  • Protect the product from direct sunlight.
  • Do not switch the product on after it has been taken from a cold to a warm environment. The condensation that forms might destroy the product. Allow the product to reach room temperature before you use it.
  • Never operate the product in direct proximity of strong magnetic or electromagnetic fields or transmitter aerials or HF generators. Doing so can prevent the product from functioning properly.
LED light
  • Do not look directly into the LED light!
  • Do not look into the beam directly or with optical instruments!
Batteries
  • Correct polarity must be observed while inserting
  • The batteries should be removed from the device if it is not used for a long period of time to avoid damage through leaking. Leaking or damaged batteries might cause acid burns when in contact with skin, therefore use suitable protective gloves to handle corrupted batteries.
  • Batteries must be kept out of reach of children. Do not leave batteries lying around, as there is risk, that children or pets swallow
  • All batteries should be replaced at the same time. Mixing old and new batteries in the device can lead to battery leakage and device
  • Batteries must not be dismantled, short-circuited or thrown into fire. Never recharge non- rechargeable batteries. There is a risk of explosion!

Placing and mounting

Finding a suitable location

Finding a suitable location determines the effectiveness and accuracy of the product. Select a location that is not directly exposed to air-conditioning and cooling fans.

Placing on a surface

Place the product on a dry and even surface that can withstand the weight of the product.

N$OTICE! The product can leave marks on sensitive surfaces.

Mount using the hanging holes

Using the hanging holes and suitable screws you can hang the product on a wall. If necessary, drill holes and insert wall plugs.
WARNING! Risk of electric shock or injury! Before drilling, check for concealed wires or pipes beneath the surface.

Mount on a tripod

Attach the product to a tripod using the tripod thread.

Setting up the power supply

You can power the product via battery or a USB power supply.

Powering via USB

To power the product via USB, connect a USB power supply (5 V/DC, min. 500 mA) to the USB-C™ port on the product.

Installing the battery

Note:
If an insulating strip protrudes from the battery compartment, batteries are installed already. Pull the strip out to establish the power supply.

PRECONDITIONS :

Prepare the required number of batteries of the correct type as stated in the section “Technical data”.

  1. 1. Slide open the battery compartment cover in the direction of the arrow and remove
  2. Insert the batteries into the battery compartment observing the polarity markings in the compartment.
  3. Attach the compartment cover and slide is shut to close the battery If a seal is present, make sure it sits correctly and you do not damage it when closing the compartment.

Switching on and off

  1. To switch on, move the switch On/Off to On.
  2. After use, move the switch On/Off to Off to switch off.

  1. Press the button SET to enter the configuration

Measuring temperature

Operating modes
Mode Application How it works Temperature range
Working Measure surface temperature. The temperature reading shows on the

display. The user is informed of normal or ab- normal temperature readings. The measured temperature is compared against the set temperature threshold. If the reading exceeds the threshold the user is alerted.| Measuring Range:

Surface| Measure surface temperature.

Selecting an operating mode

To select a mode:

  1. Keep pressing the button SET until a blank display, COUN or SurF
  2. Use the navigation button | << or > >| to select a mode: working (display: blank), count (display: COUN), or surface (display: SurF).

Measuring temperature in working mode

Setting the temperature alarm threshold

After setting the temperature alarm threshold an audible alarm sounds when a temperature reading is equal to or exceeds the threshold.

To set the threshold:

  1. Keep pressing the button SET until the temperature threshold shows on the display (for example 6 C).
  2. Use the navigation button | << or > >| to set the temperature threshold (> +37.3 °C).
  3. Press the button SET to

Measuring temperature

Measure temperature in the working mode range.

PRECONDITIONS:

(If you have moved the product to a new location) the product was given at least 30 minutes to adjust to the new ambient conditions.
You have set the temperature alarm threshold.

  1. Activate the work mode (display: blank).
  2. Position the object over the sensor. Maintain about 3 – 8 cm between object and the sensor.
  3. The display shows the measured temperature.
  4. If a BEEP sounds and the indicator lights are GREEN: Reading is below the threshold
  5. If the ALARM sounds and the indicator lights FLASH RED: Reading is equal or above the threshold. This status will reset after a few seconds.
  6. If the display shows Lo (lower end) or Hi (upper end) and an audible alert sounds: the reading is out of range
Measuring surface temperature

Measure the surface temperature of an object.

PRECONDITIONS:

(If you have moved the product to a new location) the product was given at least 30 minutes to adjust to the new ambient conditions.

  1. Activate the surface mode (display: SUrF).
  2. Hold the object over the sensor. Maintain about 3 – 8 cm between the object and the sensor.
  3. The display shows the measured temperature.
  4. A beep sounds and the indicator lights light up green.
  5. If the display shows Lo (lower end) or Hi (upper end) and an audible alert sounds: the reading is out of range
Counting the readings

Count every successful measurement and display the total count.

PRECONDITIONS:
(If you have moved the product to a new location) the product was given at least 30 minutes to adjust to the new ambient conditions.

  1. Activate the counting mode (display: COUN).
  2. Hold the object over the sensor. Maintain about 3 – 8 cm between the object and the sensor.
  3. A beep sounds.
  4. The current count shows on the display.
Viewing the temperature reading log

Temperature readings are recorded. You can view records as needed

PRECONDITIONS:
The display shows the time..

  1. Use the navigation button |<< or >>| to navigate through the records.
  2. Records are shown on the display.

Cleaning and care

Clean the product with a dry, fiber free cloth.
NOTICE!  Do not use aggressive cleaning agents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions as they can cause damage to the housing and malfunctioning.

Disposal

  • Electronic devices are recyclable waste and must not be disposed of in the household waste. At the end of its service life, dispose of the product in accordance with applicable regulatory guidelines.
  • Remove any inserted (rechargeable) batteries and dispose of them separately from the product. You as the end user are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used (re-chargeable) batteries. Disposing of them in the household waste is prohibited.
    Contaminated (rechargeable) batteries are labeled with this symbol to indicate that disposal in the domestic waste is forbidden. The designations for the heavy metals involved are: Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead (name on (rechargeable) batteries, e.g. below the trash icon on the left).

You thus fulfill your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.
