Introduction

Making Life Easier and Safer

DXFRSCH&-300 is designed for charging DXFRS300 Radios & allows you to charge up to six DXFRS300 simultaneously.
DXFRSCH&-800 is designed for charging DXFRSBOO Radios & allows you to charge up to six DXFRSB00 simultaneously.
The multi-charger provides a convenient and efficient way to charge multiple radios, and its compact size helps to preserve space.

Important Safety Instructions

Before any use, be sure everyone using this unit reads and understands all safety instructions and other information contained in this manual. Save these instructions and review frequently.

  1. To reduce the risk of electric shock, fire or injury, do not operate the charging dock or AC Adapter tt they are broken or damaged.
  2. Do not disassemble the charging dock. Disassembly al the charging dock or AC Adapter may result in risk al electric shock or fire, and will void WARRANTY.
  3. To reduce risk al damage to the power supply plugs and cords, pull the plug rather than the cord when disconnecting the charger from the AC outlet or from the charger.
  4. To reduce the risk of electric shock, unplug the charger power supply from AC outlet before performing any maintenance or cleaning
  5. Do not use cleaners or solvents to clean the exterior of the charging dock or AC Adapter. Use only a damp or dry cloth.
  6. Do not expose this product to splashing or dripping water, snow or to direct sunlight.
  7. Do not plug the wall adapter into the power outlet if the outlet is wet.
  8. An extension cord should not be used unless absolutely necessary. Use al an improper extension cord could result in risk of fire and electric shock. Han extension cord must be used, please refer the table for the recommended extension cord.
    • An extension cord must have adequate wire size (AWG or American Wire Gauge) for safety. The smaller the gauge number al the wire, the greater the capacity of the cable.
    • An undersized cord will cause a drop in line voltage resulting in loss al power and overheating. When using more than one extension to make up the total length, be sure each individual extension contains at least the minimum wire size.
    • The following table shows the correct size to use depending on cord length and nameplate ampere rating. If in doubt, use the next heavier gauge. The lower the gauge number, the heavier the cord.

  1. To reduce risk of injury, charge only compatible radios rechargeable batteries.
    Other batteries may explode, causing personal injury and damage.

  2. To reduce risk of electric shock, do not allow any liquid to get inside the charger.

  3. Bum hazard. To reduce the risk of injury, charge only DEWALT rechargeable battery packs. Other types of batteries may overheat and burst resulting in personal injury and property-damage

CAUTION

  1. The DXFRSCH6-300 is to be used only with radio DXFRS300.
    The DXFRSCH6-800 is to be used only with radio DXFRSBOO.
    Do not use these to charge other radios or batteries.

  2. The charger is not recommended for outdoor use. Use it only in dry location and batteries charge best at room temperature.

  3. Unless It is necessary to use an extension cord, the AC outlet to which the power supply is connected should be close and easily accessible for the charger.

  4. This charger and AC Adapter should not be used in wet locations or be subjected to stress. Arrange cord away from traffic areas and where it will not be a tripping hazard.

  5. Do not use the charging dock in areas such as gas/refueling stations, blasting areas or other potentially explosive atmospheres.

  6. Connect the power cord only to an appropriated fused and wired AC outlet with correct voltage which is specified on the product.

  7. If the charger or radio: overheats; has a damaged cord or plug; has been dropped or damaged; or has been dropped into water, disconnect any charger from its power supply, and discontinue use of the product.

  8. DEWALT recommends your radio is turned off while being charged.

  9. To prevent serious damage to the battery, maximum ambient temperature around the charger must not exceed 113 “F (45 “C). Longest life and best performance can be obtained if the battery is charged when the air temperature is between 65 “F and 75 “F (18 -24 “C). DO NOT charge the battery in an air temperature below +50 “F (+ 1 O “C), or above + 113 “F (+45 “C).

  10. The charger relies on slots in the top and bottom of the housing for ventilation. Do not place any object on top of the charger or place the charger on a soft surface that might block the ventilation slots and result in excessive internal heat. Place the charger in a position away from any heat source.

  11. If the radio is not going to be used for a long time period, remove it from the charger.

  12. Battery should not be stored completely depleted of charge. To keep the battery in the best condition, it will need to be recharged every 3 months. Also, after being stored, the battery will need to be recharged before use.
    NOTICE: The charger contacts can be shorted by foreign materials such as grinding dust, metal chips, steel wool, aluminum foil, etc. These items should be kept away from the charger cavities. Ensure each radio is free from such material before inserting it into the charger. Always unplug the charger when it is not in use and prior to cleaning it

Operation

Charging Procedure

For charging radios with holster In 6 port charger:

  1. Insert the AC Adapter into the DC Power Inlet of the charging dock. (Fig. B)
  2. Plug the AC Adapter into the matching power outlet.
  3. Insert the radio with battery into the charging port as shown. The charger can charge up to six radios at one time – each can be placed into any available port (Fig. C).
  4. It is recommended that the radios be turned off while being charged.
  5. Charging status of a radio is indicated by the corresponding LED indicator and charging time for each radio may be different.
  6. If the radios do not charge, please refer to TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE.

NOTICE: To protect the lithium battery, the charging circuit allows the battery to be charged in environments ranging from 50’F (10″C) to 113″F (45″C).

NOTICE: Avoid pulling the radio antenna when remove the radio from charger.

For charging radios without holster In 6 port charger

  1. Insert the provided Port Adapter into charger compartment. (Fig. D)
  2. Insert the AC Adapter into the DC Power Inlet of the charging dock. (Fig. B)
  3. Plug the AC Adapter into the matching power outlet.
  4. Insert the radio with battery into the charging port as shown. The charger can charge up to six radios at one time – each can be placed into any available port (Fig. D).
  5. It is recommended that the radios be turned off while being charged.
  6. Charging status of a radio is indicated by the corresponding LED indicator and charging time for each radio may be different.
  7. If the radios do not charge, please refer to TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE.

Troubleshooting

Check if the radiohas battery that is inserted correctly. Check the position of the batteries accorning topolarity.

Check for contact contamination or corrosion:

•   Remove the radio from the charger.

•   Verify that the battery is DEWALT supplied battery. Other batteries may not charge.

•   Inspect the charging contacts on radio for

contam i nation or corrosion.

Clean the charging contacts using a dry cloth.

•   Inspect the charging contacts in the charger pocket for contamination or corrosion. If co ntaminati o n o r corros i o n are found, remove p owe r from the charger and clean the charging contacts using a dry cloth.

Try replacing the battery. If the fault nolonger exists ,

then take the faulted battery out of service.

If the fault persists with the replacement battery,
