SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Read these instructions carefully before use, and familiarise yourself with the controls on the product and how they are used. Failure to follow all the instructions and safety instructions can result in the risk of electric shock, fire and/or serious personal injury.
TRAINING
- Read these instructions carefully and familiarise yourself with the controls on the product and how they are used.
- Never allow children, persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge or people unfamiliar with these instructions to use the machine, local regulations may restrict the age of the operator.
- The user is responsible for any accidents or risks to other persons or property.
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
- Place the product in the recommended position on a stable, horizontal surface.
- Do not use the product in areas where ejected material could cause personal injury.
- Always check before use that the blades, blade screws and other unions are properly tightened, that the casing is undamaged, and that all the guards and safety devices are in place and working properly. Always replace the complete set of components if they are worn or damaged to avoid imbalance. Replace any stickers that have become illegible or lost.
- Check before use that the mains outlet and power cords are undamaged, and that there are no signs of fatigue. Pull out the plug immediately if the power cord gets damaged during the work. Do not touch the power cord before it is unplugged. Do not use the product if the power cord is damaged or worn.
HOW TO USE

The product is not intended to be used by persons (children or adults) with any form of functional disorders, or by persons who do not have sufficient experience or knowledge on how to use it, unless they have received instructions concerning the use of the product from someone who is responsible for their safety.

Keep children under supervision to make sure they do not play with the product. Do not allow children to clean or maintain the product.

Keep onlookers, especially children, and pets at a safe distance.

There may be local regulations for the minimum age of persons allowed to use the product.

Wear ear protection and safety glasses.

Wear heavy-duty shoes and long trousers.
Do not use the product barefoot or wearing open shoes. Do not wear loose- fitting clothing, ties, scarves, etc., that can get caught in moving parts. -
Check that the infeed is empty before starting the machine.

Keep your face, head and other parts of your body away from the infeed opening.
-
Keep your hands and other parts of your body, including your clothing, away from the infeed, the ejector and moving parts.
-
Always maintain a firm footing and good balance. Do not overreach. Never stand higher up than the base of the product when feeding.

Keep at a safe distance from the ejector when the product is in use.
-
When feeding make sure that no metal, stones, glass, soil, plastic or other foreign objects get into the product.

If the cutting mechanism knocks against a foreign object, or if the machine starts vibrating or making an abnormal noise, switch off the product, pull out the plug, and wait until all moving parts have completely stopped. Check the product and repair any damage before using it again.

Replace or repair damaged parts.

Check and tighten any loose parts.
-
Do not allow processed material to collect in the ejector. This can prevent proper emptying and may result in material being thrown out through the infeed opening.

If the product gets blocked, switch it off and pull out the plug before clearing the blockage.

Never use the product if the guards or covers are dismantled or damaged. Never use the product without the safety devices.

Keep the motor free from debris and other sediment – risk of fire and/or overheating.
-
Do not transport the product when the motor is running.
-
Do not tilt the product when the motor is running.
-
Switch off the product, pull out the plug and wait until all moving parts have completely stopped in the following situations.
– Before leaving the product.
– Before clearing blockages or cleaning the ejector.
– Before checking, cleaning or doing any other work on the product.
MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE
- Switch off the product, pull out the plug, and wait until all moving parts have completely stopped before checking, adjusting, maintenance and/or replacing accessories, and before putting into storage. Allow the product to cool before checking, adjusting, maintenance and/or replacing accessories.
- Store the product in a dry place out of the reach of children.
- Allow the product to cool before putting into storage.
- Be careful when working near the cutting system, even if the product is switched off by the safety interlock – the cutting system can move even when the motor is not running.
- Replace damaged or worn parts. Only use spare parts and accessories recommended by the manufacturer.
- Never attempt to bypass the interlocks and safety devices on the product.
- Switch off the product, pull out the plug and wait until all moving parts have completely stopped before fitting/removing the catcher.
- The product must be connected to the mains with a residual current device of max 30 mA.
SERVICE
- The product must only be serviced by qualified personnel using identical spare parts. This will ensure that the machine remains safe to use.
- A damaged cord or plug must be replaced by an authorised service centre or other qualified personnel to ensure safe use.
- Have the carbon brushes checked and if necessary replaced by an authorised service centre or other qualified personnel if there is a lot of sparking. The carbon brushes must always be replaced in pairs.
REDUCTION OF NOISE AND VIBRATIONS

To reduce noise and vibrations when in use, limit the time the product is in use, and use low-power/vibration and noise mode and suitable safety equipment.

Take the following precautions to minimise the risks of exposure to vibrations and/or noise:
– Only use the product in accordance with these instructions.
– Make sure that the product is in good condition.
– Use accessories in good condition, and which are suitable for the purpose.
– Keep a firm grip on the handles/grips.
– Maintain and lubricate the product in accordance with these instructions. Plan the work so that exposure to heavy vibrations is spread over a longer period. -
Stay alert. Remember to use all necessary safety precautions and common sense when working with the product. Quick precautions can prevent serious personal injury and/or material damage.

Switch off the product immediately and pull out the plug if the product is not working properly. If the product is damaged it must be checked and repaired by qualified personnel before it is used again.
REMAINING RISKS
- Even if appropriate safety regulations are adhered to and safety devices are used, it is not possible to eliminate all risks. The following risks remain:
– Vibration injuries (if the product is used for long periods, or is not handled and maintained correctly).
– Personal injury and/or material damage as a result of defective accessories, or kickback resulting from concealed objects.
– Personal injury and/or material damage as a result of ejected objects.
– During prolonged use the vibrations can cause circulation problems in the hands. Keep your body and especially your hands warm. Wear gloves. Stop working immediately and seek medical attention if you experience numbness, itching, tingling, pain, if your skin changes colour, or loss of sensitivity in your fingers, hands or wrists. You are more at risk at low temperatures.
SPECIAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
- Never use the product for anything other than the purpose it was designed for.
- Check that the type plate and all the warning signs are clean and legible. These markings contain important safety information. Contact the retailer if the type plate or stickers are missing, damaged or illegible.
- The warnings and instructions in these instructions do not cover all the possible situations that could occur. Users must employ common sense and due caution.
- Check that the infeed is empty before starting the machine.
- Wear ear protection, safety glasses and safety gloves.
- Material that sticks out from the infeed opening can be thrown back and forwards when it is pulled in by the blades. Keep at a safe distance.
- Always keep the ventilation openings clean and free from blockages.
- Always wear heavy-duty shoes and long trousers.
IMPORTANT:
- Do not overreach. Always maintain a firm footing and good balance. Make sure you always have a good footing on sloping ground.
- Do not use the product if the power cord or plug are damaged, or touch the cord before it is unplugged – risk of electric shock.
- Keep the power cord away from moving parts – risk of electric shock.
- Switch off the product, pull out the plug and wait until all moving parts have completely stopped before touching moving parts.
- Do not use the product if the guards or covers are removed or damaged, or if the power cord or plug are damaged or worn.
- Do not use the product in bad weather, especially when there is a risk of thunder and lightning.
MAINTENANCE
- Check the product and all the accessories for wear or damage before and after use. Replace any damaged parts with new ones with the same technical data in accordance with these instructions.
- Pay attention to moving parts – risk of serious personal injury.
WARNING!
- The product is intended to be used with an extension cord. Only use an extension cord approved for outdoor use. Connect the cord to a splashproof power point. Extension cords must have a minimum wire cross-sectional area of 1.5 mm². Do not use extension cords longer than 10 metres.
- Keep the power cord away from moving parts – risk of electric shock.

P40 = Machine marked (P40) is operated intermittently, each cycle comprising a
period of operation of 40 seconds at rated power input 2500 W and period of 60
seconds with the machine at no load.
Always wear ear protection.
The declared vibration value, which has been measured by a standardised test
method, can be used to compare different tools with each other and for a
preliminary assessment of exposure. The measurement values have been
determined in accordance with EN 50434:2014.
WARNING!
The actual vibration level when using power tools may differ from the
specified maximum value, depending on how the tool is used.
It is therefore necessary to determine which safety precautions are required
to protect the user, based on an estimate of exposure in actual operating
conditions (taking into account all stages of the work cycle, e.g. the time
when the tool is switched off and when it is idling, in addition to the start-
up time).

USE
INTENDED USE
- The product is intended for shredding organic garden waste, such as leaves, twigs, branches and grass, and should be used stationary by one person on the ground.
- The product is not intended to be used for metal, stones, bottles, cans etc. or for kitchen waste.
- The product is intended for shredding garden waste in private gardens. The product is not intended for commercial use. Never use the product for anything other than the purpose it was designed for.
HOW TO USE
- Put the catcher in place.
- Connect the compost shredder to the mains supply.
- Start the compost shredder by putting the power switch in position I.
- Feed in material to be shredded. Use the pusher to remove blockages from the infeed opening.
- Switch off the compost shredder by putting the power switch in position 0.
If material gets stuck
If material gets stuck in the compost shredder, do as follows:
- Disconnect the mains voltage.
- Unscrew the lock knob (1).
- Angle the cover (7).
- Remove the material.
- Fasten the cover with the lock knob.
MAINTENANCE
NOTE:
Make sure the compost shredder is not connected to the mains when carrying out
maintenance.
- Clean and maintain the compost shredder regularly for best results and useful life.
- Keep the ventilation openings clean and unblocked.
- Apply or spray some oil on all unpainted metal surfaces to protect them from corrosion.
- Check that all screw unions are properly tightened at regular intervals.
NOTE:
- Do not use the compost shredder in wet conditions.
- Do not use detergents or solvents that can damage the plastic parts.
- Do not use abrasive or corrosive chemicals.
