VITEK VT-7160 Toaster
Product Information
The VT-7160 W Toaster is a household appliance designed for bread toasting. It operates on a power supply of 220-240 V with a frequency of 50/60 Hz. The toaster has a rated input power of 720-850 W.
Important Safety Instructions:
- For additional protection, it is recommended to install a residual current device with a nominal operation current not exceeding 30 mA into the mains. Consult a specialist for installation.
- The toaster is intended for household use only. Commercial usage and usage in production areas and workspaces are prohibited.
- Metal parts of the toaster heat up strongly during operation. Do not touch them to avoid burns.

Product Usage Instructions
- Before using the toaster for the first time, ensure it has been kept at room temperature for at least three hours after transportation or storage under cold conditions.
- Plug the toaster into a power supply of 220-240 V with a frequency of 50/60 Hz.
- Select the desired toasting level using the numbered buttons (1-10).
- For additional functions, use the DEFROST, REHEAT, and STOP buttons as needed.
- Place the bread slices into the toaster slots.
- Press down the lever to lower the bread into the toaster.
- Wait for the toaster to complete the toasting process based on the selected toasting level.
- Once the toasting is complete, the toaster will automatically eject the toasted bread.
- Use a spatula to remove the toasts from the toaster. Avoid touching the heating elements to prevent burns.
- After each use, clean the toaster by removing crumbs and wiping it with a damp cloth. Ensure it is dry before next use.

SAFETY MEASURES
Before using the unit, read this instruction manual carefully and keep it for
future reference.
Use the unit for intended purposes only, as specified in this manual.
Mishandling the unit can lead to its breakage and cause harm to the user or
damage to his/her property.
- Before switching the unit on for the first time, make sure that the mains voltage corresponds to the voltage specified on the unit body.
- The power cord is equipped with a “euro- plug”; plug it into the socket with a reliable grounding contact.
- To avoid fire, do not use adapters for connecting the unit to the mains.
- Before switching the toaster on or plugging it in, make sure that your hands are dry.
- Do not use the toaster outdoors.
- Place the unit on a flat steady surface.
- Provide enough space around the toaster for proper ventilation.
Attention! Set the required toasting level correctly, the bread can inflame if you toast it too long.
- Do not use the toaster near curtains, walls covered with wallpapers, near clothes, kitchen towels or any other inflammable materials and surfaces that can be dam- aged by high temperature.
- Do not use the unit near hot surfaces (for instance, gas or electric stove, oven).
- Do not use the toaster for toasting products with too much sugar or filled with jam or marmalade.
- Do not toast bread with butter.
- To avoid the risk of fire, do not put over- sized food and food wrapped in metal foil package into the toaster.
- Never cover the toaster during making toasts.
- Do not remove the toasts during the unit operation.
Attention! During cooking the toasts heat up. Be careful to avoid burns.

Do not use the toaster outdoors.

After the end of operation or before cleaning always switch the toaster off and unplug it.

Before cleaning the toaster make sure that it has cooled down.

Clean the tray off accumulated crumbs regularly to avoid fire.

To avoid fire or electric shock, do not immerse the power cord, the power plug or the unit itself into water or any other liquids.

Do not use abrasives or solvents to clean the toaster.

Provide that the power cord does not contact with hot surfaces or sharp furniture edges.

Do not allow children to touch the unit body and the power cord during the unit operation.

For children’s safety reasons do not leave polyethylene bags used as packaging unattended.

Children aged 8 and over as well as disabled persons can use this unit only under supervision of a person who is responsible for their safety if they are given all the necessary and understandable instructions concerning the safe usage of the unit and information about danger that can be caused by its improper usage.

Never pull the power cord when disconnecting the unit from the mains, take the power plug and carefully remove it from the mains socket.

Do not use the toaster if the power cord or the plug is damaged, if the unit malfunctions or if it is damaged after falling or in any other way or after it was dropped into water.

If the power cord is damaged, it should be replaced by the manufacturer, maintenance service or similar qualified personnel to avoid danger.

CAUTION! Metal parts of the toaster heat up strongly during operation, do not touch them.
WARNING
- Never try to take jammed toasts out of the operating toaster with your hands or with a metal object, as contact of the metal object with the heating element under voltage may cause electric shock.
- Unplug the toaster from the mains, wait until it cools down and only after that remove the toasts carefully with a suitable wooden or plastic spatula. Do not use a knife or other sharp objects, as this can damage the heating elements.
- To avoid burns, keep your hands and other open parts of your body away from the metal parts of the toaster during the unit operation.
BEFORE USING THE UNIT FOR THE FIRST TIME
After unit transportation or storage under cold (winter) conditions, it is necessary to keep it for at least three hours at room temperature before switching on.
- Before the first use of toaster, remove any package materials and stickers that can prevent normal operation of the unit.
- Make sure that the mains voltage corre- sponds to the voltage specified on the unit body.
- The unit is intended for operation from an AC power network with the frequency of 50 or 60 Hz. The unit does not need any additional settings for operating with the required rated frequency.
- There is cord storage (9) on the bottom of the unit body. You can adjust the power cord length by folding it in the cord storage in a corresponding way.
- Without loading toasts, plug the unit in, set the toasting level control knob (8) to the position «7» and switch the unit on by pressing the lever (4).
- During the first switching on the heating elements burn, therefore occurrence of a small amount of smoke or foreign smell is possible. It is normal.
- If necessary, switch the toaster on for sev- eral times.
TIPS
- The toasting level depends on the thick- ness of the bread slice, bread sort and quality. Never toast too thin or too thick slices of bread; the thickness of the toast should not exceed 20 mm.
- If the toasts are jammed in the slot, press the «STOP» button (7), unplug the toaster and let it cool down. Use a suitable wooden spatula to remove the toasts. Do not touch the heating elements to avoid damaging them.
MAKING TOASTS
- Put one or two slices of bread into the slots for bread toasting (3).
- Make sure that the tray (10) is installed.
- Insert the power plug into the mains socket.
- Set the required toasting level using the knob (8):
- «1» – minimal toasting level;
- «7» – maximal toasting level.
Notes: Set the control knob (8) to the position you need. The toasting
mode depends on the thickness of the bread slice, bread sort and quality;
choose it experimentally.
Considering that heating element needs some time to heat up after the first
switching on, the toasting level of the first toasts will be less at the same
position of the knob (8). To obtain the same toasting level at the same
position of the knob (8) let the unit cool down for no less than 30 seconds
after switching off.
- Press the lever (4) until clamping. The lever (4) clamps only if the unit is plugged in. After the lever (4) clamping the «STOP» button (7) illumination will light up.
- When the toasts are ready, the unit will be switched off automatically, the lever (4) will return to its initial position. The «STOP» button (7) illumination will go out.
- To remove small toasts, carefully move the carriage control lever (4) as upwards as possible.
- If you want to stop the toasting process,press the «STOP» button (7).
Using the «DEFROST» button
To toast frozen toasts, put them into the slots for bread toasting (3). Set the required toasting level with the knob (8), press the lever (4) until clamping and then press the «DEFROST» button (5); the selected mode button illumination will light up. When the toasts are ready, the unit will be switched off automatically, the lever (4) will return to its initial position and the button illumination will go out. To cancel the selected mode press the «STOP» button (7).
Using the «REHEAT» button
You can warm up cold toasts. To do this, put the toasts into the slots for
bread toasting (3) and press the carriage control lever (4) until it is fixed.
Press the «REHEAT» button (6), the button illumination will light up. After
heating the unit will be automatically switched off,the lever (4) will return
to its initial position and the button illumination will go out. In this mode
you can warm up toasts without additional browning. Press the «STOP» button
(7) to cancel.
Using the grid
If you want to warm up a roll, toast a slice of bread only from one side or if
the toast is of irregular size, use the grid (2).
- Press the lever (1), the grid (2) will extend.
- Place a roll or a slice of bread on the grid (2).
- Set the toasting level using the knob (8):
- Press the lever (4) until clamping.
- When the toasts are ready, the unit will be switched off automatically, the lever (4) will return to its initial position.
- After the end of operation carefully lift the lever (1) to remove the grid.
CAUTION! During cooking the grid (2) heats up strongly. Let the toaster cool down before using the grid.
Attention: If smoke appears, press the “STOP” button (7) immediately.
CRUMB TRAY
The toaster is equipped with a crumb tray (10).
- Switch the unit off and let it cool down.
- Remove the tray (10), clean it off the crumbs and install the tray back to its place.
CLEANING AND CARE

Before cleaning the unit make sure that it is unplugged.

Wait until the toaster cools down completely.

Clean the outer surface of the toaster body with a damp cloth and then wipe it dry.

Do not use coarse sponges, abrasives and solvents to clean the toaster.

Do not use metal sponges for cleaning.
Wire pieces may get into the toaster and cause a short circuit. -
To avoid injuries or damage of the unit, never insert foreign objects into the slots for bread toasting (3).

Clean the crumb tray (10)

Do not immerse the unit, the power cord and the power plug into water or any other liquids.

Keep the unit out of reach of children and disabled persons.

a preliminary notification due to which insignificant differences between the
manual and product may be observed. If the user reveals such

whom the appliance was purchased. The bill of sale or receipt must be produced
when making any claim under the terms of this guarantee.

A production date of the item is indicated in the serial number on the technical data plate. A serial number is an eleven-unit number, with the first four figures indicating the production date. For example, serial number 0606ÖÖÖÖÖÖÖ means that the item was manufactured in June (the sixth month) 2006.
