The Bit Tray (Part no: 6159360800) is a professional tool designed for use with the Desoutter CVI3 range of controllers. It is specifically designed to hold up to 8 different bits and is connected to the eBUS port of the controller. The Bit Tray is intended for professional use only.

Product Usage Instructions

Table Mounting

To secure the Bit Tray on a table, use M6 screws.

Dimensioning (bottom view)

Wall Mounting

To secure the Bit Tray on a wall, use 4 M6 screws.

eBus Cable Routing

It is possible to daisy-chain up to 15 accessories on the eBUS network. Before connecting, select how to pass the cable:

  • On the side
  • From below

Bit Tray Connection

The Bit Tray has two connections:

  • Termination plug SubD 9-pt: Use this plug when the Bit Tray is unique on the eBUS network or when it is the last accessory on thenetwork.
  • eBUS cable connection: Connect the eBUS cable to the bottompanel of the controller.

CONTROLLER CONNECTION

  • Connect the eBUS cable to the bottom panel of the controller (see below).
  • 24V-1A is supplied from the controller to power the bit tray.
  • Max current: 110 mA @ 24V DC.

Bit Tray Position

Use the encoding wheel to set the position number of the Bit Tray on the eBUS cable. The position number ranges from 1 to 15 (1 being the first position, F being the last).

Legend
1 Encoding wheel

  • Remove the cap from the encoding wheel.
  • By using a screwdriver, select the position number of the bit tray on the eBUS cable:(1-9 and A-F), 1 being the first position, F the last (F=15).
  • Do not put the accessory in use when the encoding wheel is set to “0”.
  • Put the cap back on the wheel.

To insert a bit into the Bit Tray:

  1. Insert the bit into the bit hole.
  2. Turn the screw clockwise for a heavier bit or counter-clockwisefor a lighter bit.

LABELING

Disassembly

To label the Bit Tray:

  1. Loosen the screws on the right side of the Bit Tray.
  2. Remove the label and write the description with a pencil.
  3. Add some glue and tighten the screws.

Reassembly

Ensure that the seal is correctly mounted.

Add some glue and tighten the screws as shown below.

Bit Tray Configuration

To configure the Bit Tray, you will need to use the CVI CONFIG software. Refer to the CVI CONFIG user manual at http://resource-center. desouttertools.com.
