Important: inductive (starting load) should always be calculated especially when controlling lighting (because of variable inductive loads). If this load exceeds 8 Amps then it is imperative that a contactor be used.
INTRODUCTION
MEW-PT1875 switches replace standard single-pole wall switches for energy
savings throughout the home. It turns controlled lights or fans off when the
selected time expires. Turning lights on with MEW -PT1875 is accomplished by
pressing the desired time selection or ON/OFF button. Lights will remain on
for the duration of the time-out setting that was last used and turn on the
indicator light for that active time interval. Lights can be turned off before
the time-out setting expires by pressing the ON/OFF button. To change the
time-out setting, press the desired time selection button and MEW-PT1875 will
reset to that countdown interval.

DESCRIPTION & OPERATION
The MEW-PT1875 is a timer switch that turns off the connected light or fan
when the selected time expires.
After finish cables connection, switch ON the main power, LEDs under buttons
flash one by one in a circle, then you can start to set the switch ON/OFF time.
This timer switch can work in two ways:
- Countdown mode
- Constant ON mode
COUNTDOWN MODE

Press any time button from 1 min to 60 min.
The output (your room light, fan, or other device) will be turned on. It will turn off automatically after the selected amount of time. -
The indicator light on the button that was pressed will stay on. Ten seconds before the time expires, the indicator light will flash as an indicator that it is about to time out. If you need the output to stay on longer, you can press the time button again, and the output can run for the same length of time again. After the output turns off, the indicator light on the ON/OFF button will turn off .

Next time, if you press the ON/OFF button, the timer will remember your previous choice and run for the same length of time.

To choose a different length of time, simply press a different time button.

If you wish to turn off the output before the countdown time has expired, press the ON/OFF button. The output will turn off immediately.

Changing the selected countdown time: If more or less countdown time than your originally selected countdown time is required while the Timer is counting down, just simply press the time button that matches your desired length of time and the timer will timeout after that amount of additional time.
CONSTANT ON MODE
- When you do not want the timer to count down and turn off automatically, it can be put into a manual override.
- To do this, press and hold the ON/OFF button for more than 5 seconds. During constant on mode, all led indicators on time buttons are unlit. The indicator light on ON/OFF button turns on. The output will now stay on till you turn it off manually.
- You can turn it off by simply pressing the ON/OFF button once.
- Now the timer is back on standby, and it will remember your last choice of duration. The indicator light of the last selected time button will remain on.
INSTALLATION & WIRING
CAUTION
For your safety: Connecting a proper ground to MEW-PT1875 switch provides
protection against electrical shock in the event of certain fault conditions.
If a proper ground is not available, consult with a qualified electrician
before continuing installation.
Only connect MEW-PT1875 to a Single Pole Circuit. MEW-PT1875 is not suitable
for 3-way switching. If the existing wiring does not match the description for
a Single Pole Circuit, you should consult with a qualified electrician.
Wiring Diagram:
Connect the timer switch
Twist the existing wires together with the wire leads on the timer switch as
indicated in the drawing. Cap them securely using the wire nuts provided.
– Connect the green or non-insulated (copper) GROUND wire from the circuit to
the green GROUND wire on the timer.
– Connect the power wire from the circuit (HOT) to the black wire on the
timer.
– Connect the power wire to the lamp or fan (LOAD) to the red wire on the
timer.
– Connect the NEUTRAL wire from the circuit (neutral) to the white wire on the
timer.
TROUBLE SHOOTING
Light or fan will not turn on (the indicator under the ON/OFF button is on).
Press ON/OFF button. The connected light or fan should turn on. If not, please
– Check the light bulb and / or motor switch on the fan mechanism.
– Turn off power to the circuit then check wire connections.

– Check the light bulb and/or motor switch on the fan mechanism, make certain
the circuit breaker is on and functioning
– Turn off power to the circuit then check wire connections.
Light or fan will not turn off.
Press the ON/OFF button. If connected light or fan does not turn off, turn off
power to the circuit then check wire connections.
