BEGA 24506 LED Wall Luminaire
Product Information
The product is a wall luminaire that provides four-sided light output. It is designed in a square layout and is suitable for installation on columns, wall pillars, and wall faces. The luminaire is made of aluminium alloy and stainless steel, with a silicone gasket for protection. It has a distance of 460mm and comes with an IP65 protection rating, making it dust-tight and resistant to water jets. The luminaire also has IK07 impact strength and weighs 6.6kg. It contains light sources of energy efficiency classes D.
The electronic components in the luminaire are protected against overvoltage in accordance with DIN EN 61547. However, for additional protection against transients, it is recommended to use separate overvoltage protection components. The installation and operation of this luminaire should be carried out by a qualified electrician, following national safety regulations. The manufacturer does not accept liability for damage caused by improper use or installation. Any modifications made to the luminaire should be done by the person responsible for those modifications.
Product Usage Instructions
- For replacing the LED module and changing the synthetic diffuser, ensure there is a free space of 600mm above the luminaire.
- Undo the hexagon socket head screws at the top of the luminaire to lift the luminaire top and plastic diffuser.
- Undo the screws with key slots to remove the LED unit.
- Disconnect the plug connection.
- Note the position of application of the luminaire with the arrow pointing down.
- Drill fixing holes into the mounting surface with a spacing of 460mm and screw in the provided or suitable fixing screws.
- Make the electrical connection using the enclosed connection box as shown in the illustration.

Overvoltage protection
The electronic components installed in the luminaire are protected against overvoltage in accordance with DIN EN 61547. To achieve an additional protection against e. g. transients, etc. we recommend separate overvoltage protection components. You can find them on our website at www.bega.com.
Safety
The installation and operation of this luminaire are subject to national
safety regulations. Installation and commissioning may only be carried out by
a qualified electrician. The manufacturer accepts no liability for damage
caused by improper use or installation. If subsequent modifications are made
to the luminaire, the person responsible for these modifications shall be
considered the manufacturer.
Installation
Please note:
600 mm space above the luminaire is required for replacement the LED module
and to change the synthetic diffuser. Undo the hexagon socket head screws at
the luminaire top. Lift luminaire top and plastic diffuser. Undo screws (key
slots) and remove the LED-unit. Disconnect plug connection. Note position of
application of the luminaire “arrow down”. Drill fixing holes with 460 mm
spacing into mounting surface and screw in enclosed or other suitable fixing
screws.
Use the supplied connection box to make the electrical connection (see illustration). Undo the hexagon socket screws and open the connection box. Run the luminaire power supply cable through the PG 9 cable gland and the power connecting cable through the M25 cable gland and into the connection box. For through-wiring, the factory-fitted dummy plug must be removed. Tighten the cable glands firmly. Make the protective earth connection and the electrical connection. Observe the correct configuration of the connecting cable. Make the mains connection to the brown (L), blue (N) and green-yellow wires (1). The control cables are connected via the two DALI-labelled wires white-red (wh-rd) and white-black (wh-bl). If these wires are not assigned, the luminaire will work with full light output. Close the connection box. Make sure the gasket is properly located. Hook luminaire base into the fixing screws and fix it. Assemble LED-unit. Push plug into coupler as far as it will go. Slide the synthetic diffuser and luminaire top over the LED. Please note that the luminaire top will hook into the guide pin at the luminaire housing. Make sure that gasket is positioned correctly. Tighten the screws evenly.

Cleaning · Maintenance
Clean luminaire regularly with solvent-free cleansers from dirt and deposits. Do not use high pressure cleaners.
Replacing the LED module
The designation of the LED module is noted on a label in the luminaire. The
light colour and light output of BEGA replacement modules correspond to those
of the modules originally fitted. The module can be replaced by qualified
persons using standard tools. Disconnect the system and open the luminaire.
Please follow the installation instructions for the LED module. Inspect and,
if necessary, replace the luminaire gaskets. Defective glass must be replaced.
