Product Usage Instructions
Preparation
- Remove the battery insulator.
- Verify the correct position of the device.
Installation
Follow the steps below for using the device as an opening detector:
- Refer to the notches and frames in the table below for positioning the device on different surfaces.
- Select the material and detection parameters based on the table below.
- Install the device.
Surface Material and Detection Parameters
Thickness| Material| Positioning| Detection Type| Low Sensitivity| Medium
Sensitivity| High Sensitivity
---|---|---|---|---|---|---
5mm| Glass Window| Frame| Window Opening| ✓| ✓| ✓
5mm| Door| Door| Door Opening| ✓| ✓| ✓

Note: The device has a coverage area of up to 1.5m for frame positioning
and up to 2m for window and door positioning.
1051/204 is a magnetic contact/shock detector with MEMS technology, designed
to generate alarms upon opening of the door or window controlled or in the
event of shocks of the surface on which it is applied. The control unit
connected to this device will generate a single type of alarm in case of
opening or detection of shocks. The device consists of a cover and a base. The
cover contains all the electronic components, while the base is used for
installing the device. A tamper switch inside provides protection from
unauthorised attempts to open or remove the device.

LED indicator
In normal operating mode, the LED is off, except for the following situations:
- When the tamper switch of the device is opened
- When the battery of the device is flat
- When the device is in Test mode
The LED does not flash if the tamper switch and the battery of the device are
working normally and not in Test mode. The LED flashes to indicate that a
signal is being transmitted and flashes rapidly twice when it receives a
recognition signal from the control unit.
Management of alarms generated by opening of the magnet
The detection of the alarm generated by the opening of the magnet can be
enabled or disabled by jumper JP1:
- If the jumper is ON (the jumper is inserted on the two pins), detection is deactivated and the shock alarm remain enabled.
- If the jumper is OFF (jumper removed or “arranged” on a pin), detection is enabled (default setting).
Important note: insert the jumper on JP1 in case you are using the device as inertial sensor only.
Choice of the type of surface to be protected
Using the jumpers JP2 and JP3 it is possible to choose the type of material of
which the surface to be protected is composed. Refer to the following table:
JP2 | JP3 | Surface material |
---|---|---|
OFF | OFF | Wood |
OFF | ON | Glass |
ON | OFF | Metal |
ON | ON | Concrete |
Sensitivity adjustment
Jumpers JP4 and JP5 can be used to determine the sensitivity required to
generate a shock or vibration alarm. See the following table:
JP4 | JP5 | Sensitivity |
---|---|---|
ON | OFF | Low |
OFF | ON | Medium (default ) |
ON | ON | High |
Battery
The device is powered by a CR123A 3 V lithium battery and can indicate when
the battery is flat. When the battery charge is low, the device sends a signal
to the control unit together with the normal transmissions. When the battery
is flat, the device does not work and the LED blinks every 4 seconds. The
battery is pre-installed at the factory with the insertion of an insulating
element. Remove the insulation from the battery to activate the device.
Tamper protection
The tamper switch protects the device from tampering attempts or attempts
remove it from the installation surface.
Supervision
In normal operation, the device transmits a supervision signal to the control
unit at regular intervals during normal operation. The control unit generates
a supervision alarm if the control unit does not receive the device signal
within the predetermined time.
Test
- Whenever the Test button is pressed, the device transmits a signal to the control unit to test the radio range and activates Test mode for 3 minutes.
- In Test mode, the LED lights up whenever an alarm is generated.
- Test mode is extended by 3 more minutes if the Test button is pressed again.
Preparation
- Step 1: Remove the battery insulation.
- Step 2: Enable the learning function on the control unit (see the respective manual for more details).
- Step 3: Press the Test button on the device to send a signal to the control unit.
- Step 4: If the control unit receives the signal correctly will respond by emitting beeps. Refer to the manual of the control unit to complete the learning process.
- Step 5: After the device has been learnt, set the control unit to “Walk Test” mode, by holding the device in the desired position and press the Test button to check that it is within the wireless range of the control unit.
- Step 6: After having checked the correct position of the device, proceed with the installation.
Installation
Use as opening detector:
- The detector may be installed in either of the two possible vertical positions.
- The distance between the device and the magnet must not be more than 15 mm when the door is closed.
- Avoid installation on metal surfaces, if possible.
- Install the device as high as possible.
Use as shock detector:
- The device can be installed on perfectly flat concrete or wood surfaces or on window and door frames.
- When installed on windows or doors, it can also be used as an opening detector. IMPORTANT NOTE: Detection on multilayer or mesh glass is not guaranteed because the vibrations are attenuated by the materials.
- Use the following table as a reference for the selection of materials and detection parameters.
Window glass | Door | Masonry | |
---|---|---|---|
Thickness | > 5mm | <40mm | – |
Material | Normal or tempered | Wood/steel | Cement/concrete |
Positioning | Mobile window frame | Door frame | On the wall near the detection |

Medium| 3m| 2m| 1.5m
High| 4m| 3m| 2m
Installation
- Open the device by undoing the cover and fixing the screw.
- Break the hole pattern on the base.
- Using the base as a template for the holes, make the holes in the installation surface.
- Insert the anchor bolts.
- Screw the base to the anchor bolts using the flat-head screws provided.
- Fix the cover to the base and tighten the cover fixing screw.
- Fix the magnet with screws or double-sided adhesive tape.
Replacing the battery
- Open the device by undoing the cover and fixing the screw.
- Remove the flat battery and press the Tamper switch twice to discharge the device completely.
- Insert the new CR123A 3V lithium battery in the housing, respecting the correct polarity.
- Reposition the cover to the base and fasten the cover fixing screw.
