USE

BEFORE USING IT FOR THE FIRST TIME
Read these instructions carefully before assembly, use, and/or maintenance. Failure to follow all the instructions and safety instructions can result in a risk of electric shock, serious personal injury, and/or material damage. The figures in these instructions are only intended for illustration. The product can deviate from the figures. Unpack the product and check that it has not been damaged in transit. Fit, if this has not already been done, the rubber feet for the air tank and the wheels in accordance with the enclosed instructions. Place the product on a surface with a maximum inclination of 10° in a well-ventilated, weatherproof and nonexplosive area. If the surface is inclined and slippery, secure the product to prevent it from slipping when in use. If the product is placed on a shelf, make sure it cannot fall off. Place the product at least 1 m from adjacent walls and
other surfaces to ensure adequate ventilation and cooling. Wheel chocks should be used to secure the product both when in use and when in storage. The product should only be moved by hand, by using the handle. It must not be pulled with a vehicle or winch.  The product should always be lifted by two persons – do not attempt to lift it by yourself.
WARNING!
Handle and transport the product the right way up – do not turn it upside down or lift it with hooks or ropes.
Filling oil in the compressor
The compressor must be filled with oil before use. Remove the transport oil cap, fill it up with oil and then screw on the supplied oil filler cap (12) with built-in crankcase ventilation. Check before use that the oil level is correct. Place the product horizontally and check that the oil level reaches the red marking in the sight glass (13).
Fitting the air filter
Screw on the supplied air filter before using the compressor.
HOW TO USE

  • Check that the mains voltage corresponds to the rated voltage on the type plate (acceptable deviation of 5%).
  • Set the power switch (3) on the top in the off position (0).
  • Plug the plug into the power point and start the compressor by putting the power switch (3) in the on position (I). The pressure switch on the compressor switches off when the set maximum pressure (8 bar) is reached, and switches on when the pressure drops below the maximum pressure. The difference in pressure between starting and stopping is normally 2 bar. If the set working pressure is 8 bar (maximum working pressure) the compressor stops at 8 bar and starts when the pressure in the air tank has dropped to 6 bar.

WARNING!
Parts of the product, for example, the cylinder head, cylinder, and air pipe get hot when in use. Do not touch these parts – risk of burn injury.
Adjusting the working pressure
It is not always necessary to use the compressor’s maximum working pressure

  • many pneumatic tools work best at lower pressure. The working pressure can therefore be adjusted with the dial on the pressure relief valve (5).
  • Turn clockwise for higher pressure.
  • Turn anticlockwise for less pressure.

NOTE:
Check when starting that the pressure switch switches off when the maximum pressure is reached. Check that the safety valve blows when the pressure exceeds 8.8 bar. If not, contact the retailer to replace the pressure switch and safety valve. The compressor has two pressure gauges and one connection for an air hose.

  • The pressure gauge on the right (7) shows the outlet pressure. The outlet pressure can be adjusted with the dial on the pressure relief valve (5).
  • The pressure gauge on the left (8) shows the pressure in the air tank.

Follow the instructions below to set the correct outlet pressure.

  • Turn the dial on the pressure relief valve (5) anticlockwise until the pressure is fully relieved.
  • Connect the pneumatic tool to be used to the quick-coupling on the air outlet (6).
  • Run the pneumatic tool for a moment so that the pressure gauge (7) shows the correct pressure.
  • Turn the dial on the pressure relief valve (5) clockwise until the pressure gauge (7) shows the required air pressure.
  • The setting is now complete and the pneumatic tool can now be used.

NOTE:
The pressure gauge (7) can show an incorrect reading if no pneumatic tool is connected when setting the outlet pressure.

MAINTENANCE

NOTE:
Always switch off the product and pull out the plug before doing any work on the product. The product is designed to function for a long time with a minimum of maintenance.
Proper maintenance and regular cleaning are essential for the product to work satisfactorily. Before doing any work on the product, make sure that:

  • the power switch is switched off (position 0) and the plug is unplugged from the PowerPoint
  • the air tank is completely relieved of pressure – both pressure gauges show 0 bar (the pressure can be relieved by running out all the air with a pneumatic tool).

CLEANING
Clean the product at regular intervals with a soft cloth, preferably every time it has been used. Keep the ventilation openings free from dust and dirt.
Clean when necessary with a soft cloth moistened with a mild detergent. Never use solvents such as petrol, alcohol, ammonia solution, etc. This can damage the plastic parts.
DRAINING CONDENSATE
Condensation collects in the air tank when air is compressed.
This condensation must be drained at regular intervals to prevent corrosion in the tank.

  • First, reduce the pressure in the air tank to about 2 bar by connecting and running a pneumatic tool.
  • Open the drain valve (14) underneath the air tank by turning it slowly.
  • The condensate is then pressed out from the air tank.

Note that the water can be pressed out with some force by the residual air pressure, and therefore the recommended maximum pressure when draining condensation is 1 to
2 bar.
CLEANING THE AIR FILTER
The air inlet filter should be removed and blown clean with compressed air every 50 working hours. The filter element should be replaced at least once every year if the compressor is used in a clean environment, and more often if used in dusty conditions.
REPLACING AND TOPPING UP THE OIL
The oil in the compressor should be replaced every 50 working hours.

  • Undo the drain plug (4) on the oil pan and allow the oil to run out into a suitable container before screwing it back on.
  • Fill new oil through the oil filler hole until the oil level reaches the marking in the sight glass.
  • Wipe the product after replacing and filling oil – oil residue attracts dirt and is a fire risk.

WARNING!
Check the oil level every week and top up when necessary. Synthetic oil is preferable because it can withstand more extreme temperatures in comparison with mineral oil.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Problem Probable cause Action
The compressor does not stop. The pressure switch is defective—the safety
valve opens. Contact an authorized service center.
The compressor does not start. No power supply. Check the mains voltage and

that the power switch is switched on.
Check that the overheating protection on the motor has not tripped. If the overheating protection has tripped, switch off the product and allow the motor to cool. Plug in the plug and switch on the power switch.
Difficulty starting.| ·Check that the mains voltage corresponds to the rated voltage on the type plate.

· Check that the extension cord is not too long or under-dimensioned.

· Check that the ambient temperature is not too low (should be at least 0°C).

· Check that the plug is properly plugged in and that no fuses have tripped.

Air leakage / inadequate air pressure| Defective seals or connections.| ·Check the tightness of all air connections with soapy water (do not use water near electrical
connections).·A hissing noise can be heard from the pressure switch when filling the air tank. This is perfectly normal and stops when the pressure has risen to about 1.5 bar.

·Check that the drain valve (14) is closed.
