LUMEX 7927A Maxi Drain Transfer Bench
The Transfer Bench is a tool designed to help individuals with limited mobility get in and out of the bathtub safely. The Transfer Bench comes with leg extensions, a backrest, and a support arm. The bench has a maximum weight capacity of 400 lb. when evenly distributed.
Safety Guidelines – Please Read Before Use
Before using the Transfer Bench, it is essential to read and understand the instructions provided in the owner’s manual or instruction sheets. If you are not able to understand the warnings, cautions, or instructions, contact a healthcare professional, dealer, or technical personnel before attempting to use this equipment. Improper installation, assembly, or use of this product can cause injury or damage to the user. It is recommended that the user be assisted when using the Transfer Bench at all times. Check for missing or damaged parts before using the transfer bench. If any of these conditions exist, replace them immediately. Do not use substitute parts as they might cause injury.
Maintenance
It is recommended to clean the Transfer Bench regularly using a soft cloth and ensure that the product is well-rinsed before using. Check for damaged parts and replace them immediately to ensure that the product is safe to use. Use only Lumex replacement parts available from your GF Health Products, Inc. authorized distributor.
Attaching the Leg Extensions (If Not Attached Already)
- Place the frame on its side on a level surface.
- Attach leg extensions with suction feet to the frame on the same side as where the support arm will be. Attach leg extensions with flange tips to frame on the opposite side of the frame.
- The transfer bench legs with suction feet should be the two legs that are to be placed inside the tub.
Attaching the Backrest (If Not Attached Already)
- Determine the side on which the backrest should be mounted by knowing which direction the user will face when sitting on the bench in the tub.
- Position the bench upright on a level surface.
- Locate the channel guides (4 each) on the underside of the seat. Align backrest support tubes with channel guides.
- Slide backrest seat support tubes through channel guides until seat support tube push buttons protrude fully through channel guide holes. Ensure seat support tubes buttons protrude fully through channel guide holes.
- Ensure backrest is facing down correctly before inserting to avoid improper installation.
Attaching the Support Arm
- Position the seat arm against the leg frame and slide the armrest tubing into the tube openings until it clicks into place.
- Make sure that the push buttons fully protrude through the holes in the bracket. An audible click will be heard.
- The end with the Support Arm and Suction Feet is the side that should be inside the tub.
- To remove the support arm, depress the push buttons and pull up.
Adjusting Leg Height
- Depress the height adjustment button and slide the lower leg upward or downward until the height adjustment button clicks into place in the desired hole.
- Repeat for other 3 legs.
- Ensure that all four legs are adjusted to the same height.

If you are unable to understand the warnings, cautions or instructions, contact a healthcare professional, dealer or technical personnel before attempting to use this equipment – otherwise, injury or damage may occur.
- Users with limited physical capabilities should be supervised or assisted when using the transfer bench.
- Item 7927A has a maximum weight capacity of 350 lb. EVENLY DISTRIBUTED. Item 7929 has a maximum weight capacity of 400 lb. EVENLY DISTRIBUTED.
- GF Health Products, Inc. assumes no responsibility for any damage or injury caused by improper installation, assembly or use of this product.
- Leg extensions with rubber tips MUST be in contact with the floor at all times.
- Make sure that all attaching hardware is tight at all times.
- Inspect rubber tips on the leg extensions for rips, tears, cracks or wear or if they are missing. Replace them IMMEDIATELY if any of these conditions exist.
- The transfer bench seat MUST be installed before sitting on the transfer bench.
- If components are damaged or missing, contact your GF Health Products, Inc. distributor immediately. DO NOT use substitute parts.
MAINTENANCE
- Use a mild soap and water solution, rinse with clear water, then dry with a soft cloth. Ensure that the product is well-rinsed before using.
- Never use organic solvents, abrasive cleaners, or scouring pads on any part of the product.
- Check fit and tightness of all nuts, bolts and knobs weekly to ensure that the product is safe to use.
- To guarantee the best service from your product, always specify Lumex replacement parts, available from your GF Health Products, Inc. authorized distributor.

ATTACHING THE LEG EXTENSIONS (IF NOT ATTACHED ALREADY)
- Place the frame on its side on a level surface.
- Attach leg extensions with suction feet to the frame on the same side as where the support arm will be. Attach leg extensions with flange tips to the frame on the opposite side of the frame.
- The transfer bench legs with suction feet should be the two legs that are to be placed inside the tub.
ATTACHING THE BACKREST (IF NOT ATTACHED ALREADY)
- Determine the side on which the backrest should be mounted by knowing which direction the user will face when sitting on the bench in the tub.
- Position the bench upright on a level surface.
- Locate the channel guides (4 each) on the underside of seat. Align backrest support tubes with channel guides.

NOTE: Ensure seat support tubes buttons protrude fully through channel
guide holes.
CAUTION: Backrest is not designed to support the full weight of the user.
CAUTION: Ensure the backrest is facing down correctly before inserting to
avoid improper installation.
ATTACHING THE SUPPORT ARM

To attach the support arm, position the seat arm against the leg frame and slide the armrest tubing into the tube openings until it clicks into place. Make sure that the push buttons fully protrude through the holes in the bracket.
NOTE: An audible “click” will be heard. -
To remove the support arm, depress the push buttons and pull up.

ADJUSTING LEG HEIGHT
- Depress the height adjustment button and slide the lower leg upward or downward until the height adjustment button clicks into place in the desired hole.
- Repeat for other 3 legs.
CAUTION: Ensure that all four legs are adjusted to the same height.
USING YOUR TRANSFER BENCH
NOTE: Be sure to move slowly throughout use to prevent injuries.
NOTE: Children or those who need assistance should NOT be left unattended
during use of this product.
From a seated position (such as a wheelchair)
- Place your wheelchair next to the bench, facing the front of the bathtub.
- Engage wheelchair locks.
- Transfer your torso to the transfer bench first, and then lift your legs into the tub. Move slowly to prevent injuries.
- After bathing, lift your legs out of the tub first, then your torso.
From a standing position
- Sit on the side of the transfer bench that is outside of the tub.
- Extend your arms to grab the support arm of the bench and slide your body over onto the bench. Lift each leg over the tub slowly.
- Position yourself to a comfortable position in the center of the bench.
- After bathing, lift your legs out of the tub first, then your torso slowly.
LIMITED WARRANTY
GF Health Products, Inc. (“GF”) warrants to the original retail purchaser or lessee (either is the “Customer”) only, that it will replace or repair components, at GF’s sole discretion, that are defective in material or workmanship under normal use and service. The warranty is for parts only and does not include labor or costs of shipping. All warranties are conditioned upon the proper use of the product strictly in accordance with applicable GF instructions. Products provided to users as rentals must be serviced by the provider and inspected prior to delivery. Each user must be properly trained on the operation and safety of this product prior to use. Within the guidelines set forth in this document, the frame is warranted for five (5) years and the normal wear components such as tips, wheels/casters, and handgrips are warranted for three (3) months. The applicable warranty period shall commence from date of shipment to the Customer unless there is an expiration date on the component in which case the warranty shall expire on the earlier of the warranty period or the expiration date.
OBTAINING WARRANTY SERVICE
This limited warranty shall only apply to defects that are reported to the
Dealer from whom the Customer purchased the product within the applicable
warranty period. If there is not Dealer, you must contact GF directly by
calling 678-291-3207, sending a fax
request to 770-368-2386 or by emailing
a request to cs@grahamfield.com. Specific
directions will be provided by the Customer Service Representative.
EXCLUSIONS
The warranty does not cover and GF shall not be liable for the following:
- Defects, damage, or other conditions caused by misuse, abuse, negligence, alteration, accident, freight damage, tampering or failure to seek and obtain repair or replacement in a timely manner;
- Products not installed, used, or properly cleaned and maintained; and
- Labor or shipping charges. Other exclusions apply. Additional limitations are relative to this warranty may be found on www.grahamfield.com Terms and Conditions page. State laws governing the warranty of this product may provide more expanded rights than those set forth in this warranty.
ENTIRE WARRANTY, EXCLUSIVE REMEDY, AND CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES DISCLAIMER THIS WARRANTY IS GF’S ONLY WARRANTY AND IS IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.
