Installation

TOOLS/MATERIALS YOU MAY REQUIRE

  • Tape measure
  • Marker pen
  • Drill
  • Utility knife
  • Spirit level
  • Liquid soap

HOW IT WORKS

  1. Determine and mark the position you would like to install your Diverter. Point the outlet in the direction you intend to route the hose. If you are connecting your Diverter to a rain barrel, make sure the diverter is mounted level to the inlet of the barrel, which will be just below the top of the rain barrel. Use a spirit level to check the height.
  2. Using the included hole saw, drill a hole in your downpipe at the marked position. Make sure to remove any burrs from the edge of the hole.

Suggested Installation Orientations

  1. Trim the tips off the collector if necessary depending on the size of the downpipe.
  2. Compress the rubber collector and push it through the hole, ensuring that it is oriented correctly to collect water. There is an indicator on the front of the collector to show the right way up. Using liquid soap to lubricate the rubber collector will make it easier to insert into the downpipe.
  3. Press the Quickfit Diverter onto the rubber collector. The mounting holes on the Quickfit Diverter body will align with the holes on the rubber collector.
  4. Screw the main housing to the downpipe using only moderate torque to ensure the screws do not strip out. This will seal the Diverter to the Downpipe.
  5. Screw on either the 12mm or 1 1/4” hose fitting onto the nozzle.
  6. Connect the hose to your rain barrel or rainwater tank as required.
  7. Make sure the On/Off knob is set to the position you require.

Maintenance

To keep your Quickfit Diverter performing at its best, ensure you install a rain head above the diverter to ensure that no leaves or debris can become lodged in your Quickfit Diverter. If you need to check your Quickfit Diverter, unscrew the diverter from your pipe. Use only a medium torque to ensure the screws don’t strip out. Carefully remove the rubber collector from the pipe. Hose or brush out any debris, then simply refit your Quickfit Diverter.
