IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
The use of a vehicle jack has inherent dangers to avoid risk of personal injury or property damage make sure you are fully aware of the operating instructions for this product, the recommendations in the vehicle owner manual for jacking of your vehicle prior to lifting the transmission. Do not exceed the maximum lifting capacity of this jack. This jack is intended for automotive use only. Be aware that large or heavy transmissions may exceed jack’s stated capacity check vehicle owner’s manual or contact the vehicle manufacturer. Do not use for any other purpose except the raising and lower of transmissions, Never use to raise any structure or building, Do not lift any human load and never ride on jack.
Preparing Work Area
Before using jack to lift transmission, it is important to prepare work area
properly. Follow this procedure each time the jack is used to help prevent
property damage and or serious injury.
WARNING: The warnings, cautions and instructions discussed in this
instruction manual cannot cover all possible conditions and situations that
may occur. It must be understood that common sense and caution are factors
that cannot be built into this product but must be applied by the operator.
WARNING! Ensure all preliminary checks are carefully carried out before
use of jack. Immediately repair or replace damaged parts luse authorized
service agent). Ensure use of genuine parts only. Unauthorized parts may be
dangerous and will invalidate the warranty.
WARNING! Use jack on the level and solid ground, preferably concrete.
Ensure the floor over which the jack will be transported is swept clean.
DANGER! DO NOT use on the tarmac, or any other soft surface as jack may sink
or topple. Serious injury may result if ignored. DANGER! If jack tips or leans

Use jack in a suitable work area. Keep the area clean and tidy and free from unrelated materials. Ensure there is adequate lighting.

Before use ensure the gearbox weight and size do not exceed the capacity of the jack.

Ensure the vehicle is raised and stabilized at the correct height before attempting to move the jack under the vehicle.
-
Ensure the jack saddle is fully lowered and is clean, dry, and oil-free before attempting to transport the jack with or without a load.
-
Keep all unauthorized persons away from the jack during lifting and lowering and when in transit.
-
Maintain correct balance and footing. Ensure the floor is not slippery and wear nonslip shoes.
-
Remove ill-fitting clothing. Remove ties, watches, rings and other loose jewelry, and contain/tie back long hair.
-
WARNING! Ensure that the load is placed level and centrally on the jack saddle and that it is fixed in place before attempting to lift, lower or transport the load.

The lowering speed will vary according to the weight of the load and the release valve setting. Diligence is required in ensuring that you continually monitor the operation until completed. Should the jack make any abnormal sounds during use, STOP IMMEDIATELY and contact your local service agent.

DO NOT operate the jack if any parts are damaged or missing.

DO NOT exceed the rated capacity of the jack.

DO NOT raise/lower vehicle lifting platform whilst the transmission jack is being used.

DO NOT transport the jack with/without a load, with the saddle in the raised position.

DO NOT get the jack wet, or use it in damp or wet locations or areas where there is condensation.

DO NOT operate the jack when you are tired or under the influence of alcohol, drugs or intoxicating medication.

DO NOT lift or support vehicles with the jack and do not use the jack as a toad sustaining device.

DO NOT use the jack for any purpose other than removal, transportation and the installation of transmissions.

DO NOT make any modifications to the jack.
-
DO NOT adjust, or tamper with, the safety valve.

DO NOT remove any labels from the jack.

DO NOT use brake fluid to top up the hydraulic unit

Use Kincrome hydraulic oil only (K124001.
-
Use a qualified person to lubricate and maintain the jack.
-
Before storing the jack in a safe area, ensure that all parts are clean and free of grease and oil, especially the saddle.
Personal Safety -
Stay alert. Watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating the tool. Do not use the tool while tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication. A moment of inattention while operating the tool increases the risk of injury to persons.

Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Contain long hair. Keep hair, clothing, and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewelry, or long hair increases the risk of injury to persons as a result of being caught in moving parts.

Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. Proper footing and balance enable better control of the tool in unexpected situations.

Use safety equipment. A dust mask, non-skid safety shoes and a hard hat must be used for the applicable conditions.

Always wear eye protection. Wear ANSI-approved safety goggles.
-
Keep Children away. Children must never be allowed in the work area. Do not let them handle tools, machines or extension cords.

Use the right tool for the job. Do not attempt to force a small tool or attachment to do the work of a larger industrial tool, Do not use a tool for a purpose it was not intended.
UNPACKING AND ASSEMBLING
Unpacking
Unpack all the components from the box.
When unpacking the transmission jack carefully inspect for any damage that may
have occurred during transit. Check for loose, missing or damaged parts.
- Ensure all packaging materials are disposed of as per your local council guidelines.
Assembling
- Place two leg assemblies (6) upsides down, then bolt them together using the supplied bolts washers, lock washers, and nuts. Do not tighten fully.
- Turn over the leg assembly to the normal upright position and fit the four castors (7) to the legs using the supplied washers, lock washers and nuts. Do not tighten fully.
- Place the base of the transmission jack main body pump assembly (81 into the center of the legs and tighten using the supplied washers, lock washers and bolts. Do not tighten fully.
- Attach the stabiliser arm mounting bracket (13) to the jack main body using the supplied bolts, washers, lock washers and nuts. Do not tighten fully.
- Attach the stabilizer arms (11) to the mounting bracket and leg assembly using the supplied bolts, washers and nuts. Do not tighten fully.
- Fasten the saddle (1) onto the top of the telescopic tube 121 using the supplied bolt, do not overtighten.
- When completely level, go ahead and tighten all bolts, do not overtighten.
Purging
Prior to use conduct a visual Inspection checking for abnormal conditions, such as cracked welds, leaks, and damaged, loose, or missing parts.
- Following assembly and before first use leave the jack for one hour to allow the oil to settle before purging the system. 2. Loosen the air vent screw (14) with no more than 2 full turns.
- Purge the hydraulic system to eliminate any air in the system by depressing the foot-operated release pedal (11) and pumping the foot-operated lift pedal (5) 15-20 times.
- Test the jack without load by raising it to full height and then lowering the jack by depressing the release valve by pushing the release foot pedal (11) down gently to control the rate of descent.
OPERATION
Inspection
- Prior to each use conduct a visual inspection checking for abnormal conditions, such as cracked welds, leaks, and damaged, loose, or missing parts.
- The transmission Jack shall be maintained in accordance with the maintenance instructions. No alterations or modifications should be made to this transmission jack or warranty void.
- Inspections should be performed in accordance with this owner’s manual.
- The transmission Jack must be inspected immediately if it is believed to have been subjected to abnormal load or shock. Owners and /or operators should be aware that repair of this product may require specialized equipment and knowledge (refer to maintenance section).
Operating Jack
-
Always loosen the air vent screw (14) before use.
-
Roll the transmission jack into position and pump the lift foot pedal (5) until the transmission adaptor reaches the desired height.
NOTE: Follow the vehicle manufacturer’s recommended procedures for removing the load as outlined in the vehicle service manual or repair guide. -
Carefully center the load on the saddle. Ensure the load’s center of gravity is centered on the saddle and the transmission is stable and secure. Use the chains to secure the load.
NOTE: Before lowering the load check to ensure all tools and personnel are clear and it is safe to lower the load. -
SLOWLY and CAREFULLY push the release foot pedal (11) to lower the load to its lowest position.
NOTE: The speed of lowering is controlled by pressure on the release valve. The more the valve is opened the more rapidly the jack descends. Ensure the descent is slow and controlled.
WARNING: Dangerous dynamic shock loads are created by quick opening and closing the release valve when the load is being lowered. The resulting overload may cause hydraulic system failure which could cause property damage and/or severe personal injury. -
Once the load is lowered, CAREFULLY and SLOWLY move the transmission jack.

Transfer load immediately to appropriate support device for service or repair.
-
When work is complete, lower the saddle to its lowest position and tighten the air vent screw (14).
Removing the Gearbox
-
Removing Gearbox. Loosen all gearbox fixing bolts leaving them finger tight.
-
Raise the gearbox support close to the gearbox and adjust the angle of the support plate using the adjusting screws.
-
Position the sliding brackets and the chain mount brackets to best support and locate the transmission, ensuring that all nuts and bolts are tightened.
-
Feed the safety chains (10) over the top of the gearbox and attach to the chain hooks leaving as little slack in the safety
-
chains (10) as possible. Fully tighten the safety chains (10) using the adjusters on the chain hooks.
-
Remove all gearbox fixings. Disconnect driveshaft. Ensure that the gearbox is stable on the support.
Detach gearbox and lower away from the underside of the vehicle. -
Refitting Gearbox. Secure the repaired/new gearbox to the support plate using the chains. Ensure that the sliding brackets and the chain mount brackets are in a position to best support the transmission and all the nuts are fully tightened.

Raise the gearbox into the required position underneath the vehicle and make fine adjustments to the positioning using the adjuster screws.

When the gearbox is in position and properly aligned with its fixing holes, insert all bolts finger tight before progressively tightening them to the correct specified torque settings (See vehicle service manual).

Remove the safety chains (10) from the gearbox and lower support away from the underside of the vehicle.
MAINTENANCE & STORAGE

Maintenance Monthly maintenance is recommended. Lubrication is critical to
transmission jacks as they support heavy loads. Any restriction due to dirt,
rust, etc, can cause either slow movement or cause extremely rapid jerks
damaging the internal components. The following steps are designed to keep the
transmission lifter well maintained and operational.
Important: Dirt is the greatest single cause of failure in hydraulic
units. Keep the transmission lifter clean and welt lubricated to prevent
foreign matter from entering the system. If the transmission lifter has been
exposed to rain, snow, sand, or grit it must be cleaned before it is stored or
used.
Important: Use only K12400 Kincrome hydraulic jack oil. Avoid mixing
different types of fluid and NEVER use brake fluid, turbine oil, transmission
fluid, motor oil or glycerine. Improper fluid can cause premature failure of
the transmission lifter and the potential for sudden and immediate loss of
load. Periodically check the telescopic tubes for signs of rust or corrosion.
Clean exposed areas with a clean oiled cloth.
WARNING: Never use sandpaper or abrasive material on these surfaces. A
coating of light lubricating oil to pivot points will help to prevent rust and
ensure that castors, foot pedals and pump assemblies move freely. If
efficiency drops, purge air from the hydraulic system. Refer to the Purging
section on pg. 5 for instructions. With the transmission jack in the lowest
position remove the air vent screw (14) to check the hydraulic oil level.
If it is not adequate, add Kincrome K12400 hydraulic jack oil as necessary.
Insert and tighten the air vent screw. Leave the transmission jack for one
hour to allow the oil to settle before purging the system
. To ensure best performance and longer equipment life replace the complete
hydraulic oil annually. With the transmission jack in its lowest position
remove the air vent screw (13), lay the transmission lifter on its side, and
drain the oil into a suitable container. Ensure that no dirt gets into the
system.
Set the transmission lifter in its level upright position, fill with K12400
Kincrome hydraulic jack oil. Replace the air vent screw and purge away air
from the hydraulic system as described in the Purging section.
It is recommended that an annual inspection be conducted by a qualified
technician.
Storage
This transmission jack should always be stored in a dry location on a level
surface with the saddle fully lowered and the air vent valve closed.
Service & Repair
Any jack found damaged in any way, or found to be worn or operating abnormally should be removed from service until repaired by an authorized service agent. Owners and/or operators should be aware that repair of this product may require specialized equipment and knowledge. Only authorized parts, labels, decals shall be used on this equipment. An annual inspection of the jack is recommended and can be made by an authorized repair facility to ensure that your equipment is in optimum condition and that the equipment has the correct decals and safety labels specified by the manufacturer.
Caring for the environment
When a tool is no longer usable it should not be disposed of with household
waste but in an environmentally friendly 
way. e
