This newly introduced Digital Pressure cooker will help you cook the foods you like in a consistent and convenient manner, and food is also hygienically prepared. Cooking occurs extremely rapidly, and thus you might find yourself unexpectedly having some very welcomed free time. All the more to think about preparing other delicious foods like cakes & biscuits, etc. Numerous safety devices are installed to protect you and your loved ones from injury and to ensure your safety: Anti-block, Pressure-control, Temperature-control safety devices among others.

Water Storage box

To remove, pull the water storage box horizontally.
To insert, align the water storage box horizontally along the groove and slide the box in.

ATTENTION :

Read this booklet carefully as it contains important instructions for a safe installation, use and maintenance.
Important instructions to be kept for future reference.
The following basic precautions should always be followed when using electrical appliances:

1. Read all instructions before using the appliance.
   The Appliance

2. This appliance must be used only for the purpose it was expressly designed; any use NOT complying with the instructions contained in the manual is considered inappropriate and dangerous. The manufacturer is NOT responsible for possible damages caused by the inappropriate and/or unreasonable use.

3. The installation/assembly of the appliance will be made in accordance with the indications of the manufacturer. A wrong procedure may cause damages to persons, animals or objects, for which the manufacturer cannot be considered responsible.

4. Before use, check the integrity of the appliance and power cable. DO NOT operate the appliance when its housing is damaged. In case you are not sure, contact a qualified person. If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or a qualified technician in order to avoid a shock hazard.

5. Before powering the appliance make sure the rating (voltage and frequency) corresponding to the grid and the socket is suitable for the plug of the appliance, and that the wall socket is properly grounded. This appliance is fitted with an earth wire for extra safety.

6. DO NOT power the appliance using multiple sockets. If possible, avoid the use of adapters and/or extension cables; if their use is absolutely necessary, use only materials in compliance with the current safety regulations and according to the electrical parameters of the adapters.

7. The appliance must NOT be switched on using external timers and/or other remote control appliances, which are not specified in this manual.

8. Only use original components & accessories (e.g. Inner Pot, Lid, etc.) provided by the manufacturer. Any non-original component or accessory NOT recommended by the manufacturer (including, but not limited to, Inner Pots, Lids, etc. made by other manufacturers or by the same manufacturer but for other models of the same capacity or otherwise) may cause injuries to persons or damage to the appliance.

9. The packing materials (plastic bags, expanded polystyrene, etc.) must be kept out of the reach of children or disabled persons since they represent potential sources of danger.
   Location

10. This appliance is NOT suitable to be used or stored near heat sources (open flame, ovens, heaters, stoves, etc.) and/or in an explosive environment (in the presence of flammable substances such as gas, vapour, mist or dust, in atmospheric conditions when, after ignition, the combustion is spread in the air).
    Items containing these substances should never be placed in the appliance, and never be used to clean the appliance in order to avert the risk of fire or explosion.

11. The appliance should NOT be placed on a surface, or in the vicinity of objects which can be damaged by heat such as carpets or plastics. DO NOT locate multiple portable socket outlets or power supplies at the bottom or rear of the appliance. During operation, as heat is transferred away from the appliance, the surface that the appliance is placed upon as well the surface immediately above or adjacent to it may become very hot. There should be at least 10cm of free space from the back, left & right sides and at least 20 cm from the top. Never put things on top of the appliance. Never use the appliance near curtains or textiles. If the appliance is operated on wooden furniture, use a protective pad to prevent damage to delicate finishes.

12. Avoid placing the power cable on abrasive or sharp surfaces or in positions where it can be damaged easily. DO NOT pull the power cable, tug it or use it to drag the appliance to which is connected. The cable must NOT be placed under carpets, or covered with throw rugs, runners or similar. Arrange the cable away from the high traffic area, and where it will NOT be tripped over.

13. DO NOT use or store the appliance outdoors. Store and use the appliance only indoors, or in any case, protected from weathering such as rain, direct radiation of the sun and dust.
    Operation

14. If you are using the appliance for the first time, you should:
    a. Clean the Inner pot & Aluminium plate thoroughly with hot water & detergent with a non-abrasive sponge.
    Notice: you can use a dishwasher to clean the Inner pot & Aluminium plate
    b. Clean the inside and outside of the appliance with a wet cloth.
    c. Put the appropriate amounts of food to be cooked into the Inner pot.
    d. Turn the Vent valve and turn the knob onto the “sealed’ position, and the Float is at its lowest position in the Float valve before commencing operation.
    e. Lift the Vent valve to let the steam out; and ensure that the Float of the Float valve has fallen to its lowest position before opening the pressure cooker after cooking.
    f. Make sure to remove any label or protective sheet which may prevent its
    proper functioning.
    DO NOT:

    • cover the appliance during functioning;
    • obstruct totally nor partially the Vent valve, Float valve & Water outlet;
    • insert objects (other than food to be cooked) or body parts inside the protection cover of the appliance;
    • lift the pressure cooker by the Handle (cover handle) when you need to move the appliance, instead lift the appliance by the Pot handles;
    • heat the Inner Pot by any other means, e.g. heating directly on a gas stove, as the pot can be deformed as a result;
    • press the buttons too hard so as to avoid any damage;
    • use the appliance near curtains or textiles;
    • leave the appliance unsupervised during operation.

15. During (and immediately after) the period of operation, high temperature steam may escape from the container. To avoid scalding:
    DO NOT

    • fill the Inner Pot with hot water;
    • use the appliance without any food item in the Inner pot or to heat oil or melt butter without any food present;
    • add food with its packaging (plastic wrapper, paper, foil, metal can, etc.) still attached without first removing the packaging;
    • place any container inside the appliance;
    • move the appliance whilst the appliance is in operation;
    • touch any part of the appliance except the buttons on the Control panel, Pot handle or Handle during operation or just after switching the pressure cooker off as it will still be very hot and may cause scalding. The bottom of the cooker becomes exceedingly hot as the cooker operates;
    • touch the inside of the pressure cooker while it is operating. This is to prevent scalding. The bottom of the External plate becomes exceedingly hot as the appliance operates
    • direct steam at any person or animal & one’s hands and face should be angled away from the Water outlet, Vent valve or Float valve at all times.

16. During operation, DO NOT touch the appliance with wet body parts, and it is recommended to have between you and the standing surface, an isolating element (for example, wearing shoes with rubber soles)

17. DO NOT soak the appliance in water or other liquids, wash it under the tap, or let any liquid flow into the internal casing of the appliance to prevent electric shock.
    In case of accidental fall in water, DO NOT try to take it out, but immediately switch the socket switch OFF and detach the 3-pin plug from the socket on the wall (holding it firmly with dry hands).

18. Switch the appliance off, switch the socket switch OFF and unplug the plug if it is NOT used for a long period and before storing, cleaning or performing any maintenance operation.

19. In case of malfunction or anomaly during the functioning, switch the appliance off, switch the socket switch OFF and unplug the plug and check the cause of the anomaly, if possible, with the support of a qualified person.

20. If smoke is observed coming out of the appliance, switch the appliance off immediately.

21. This appliance is NOT intended for commercial use but to be used in households and similar applications, such as:

    • Staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
    • Dormitories;
    • By clients in hotels, motels and other residential environments;
    • Bed and breakfast type environments.

22. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall NOT play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall NOT be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised. Keep the appliance and its cable out of reach of children less than 8 years old.

23. Save these instructions.

USING YOUR APPLIANCE

1. Remove the Inner pot and Aluminium plate (with seal ring) and thoroughly wash them with hot water & detergent with a non-abrasive sponge.

2. Clean the inside and outside of the appliance with a wet cloth.

3. Put food to be cooked into the Inner pot, with the:

   • maximum volume not more than 4/5
   • bulk of the food not exceeding 3/5
   • minimum volume not less than 1/5 of the volume of the inner pot.

4. Wipe away excess water from the outside of the Inner pot before placing the Inner pot into the External pot.

5. Turn over the Pot cover to insert the Aluminium plate (with seal ring) to the underside of the Pot cover.

Closing the pressure cooker

6. To secure the Pot cover onto the pressure cooker, align the Pot cover with the Pot handles as shown in the figures below:
   

7. A “clicking” sound is heard as the Pot cover is aligned into position. Using the Handle, slide the Pot cover anti-clockwise and the Pot cover will lock into place.

8. Turn the knob of the Vent valve in any direction to lower the knob slightly.

9. Ensure that the Float is at its lowest position in the Float valve. (Note: do not worry – as long as you are not able to see the float, it is in the correct position)

10. The pressure cooker is closed and secured.

11. Insert the plug into the grounded socket.

12. The Control Panel lights up and displays 00:00. The appliance is now in Standby mode.

13. Select the function key you want, e.g. pressing the ‘Rice’ button will display P.12.
    The pressure cooker will cook for 12 minutes, which is the default setting for Rice.
    The display will also show the pressure setting (High / Mid / Low) above the ‘Time Choice’ button, which cannot be adjusted.

14. However, you may wish to adjust the duration of cooking. For example, you may wish to cook the rice for 15 minutes. In this case, press the ‘Time Choice’ button 3 times. Each press increases the cooking time from its default setting by one minute. The display will now show ‘12’. However, you may wish to shorten the cooking time to 9 minutes. In this case, press the ‘Time Choice’ button repeatedly until the display shows ‘9’ (the display increases to the maximum for that particular food group and then continues from 0).

15. Alternatively, you may just settle for a short, medium or long cooking time.
    Pressing the ‘Taste’ button runs through from ‘Short’, then ‘Normal’ (the default setting), and then ‘Long’.

16. If you press the ‘Keep Warm / Cancel’ button, then the previous operation is cancelled, and the pressure cooker will enter the ‘Keep Warm’ mode. The display shows ‘66’. Pressing it again will return it to Standby mode. Thus, if you wish to cancel any operation, simply press the ‘Keep Warm / Cancel’ button twice, and you are free to input your new selection.

17. Once you input your selection, e.g. pressing:
    (a) ‘Rice’, or
    (b) ‘Rice’, ‘Time Choice’ (press until the time you desire is displayed), or
    (c) ‘Rice’, ‘Taste’ (press through ‘short’, ‘medium’ & ‘long’), the pressure cooker will start heating.
    (Note: there is no ‘Enter’ button. There is no need for one!)

18. Please note that the temperature of the food needs to reach the default temperature before the timer countdowns. This may take several minutes, depending on the amount of the food, the temperature of the food you put in, and the default temperature itself. Frozen food will naturally take a while longer.
    Opening the pressure cooker

19. Using any utensil (to avoid your fingers & hands from being scalded), carefully nudge the knob of the vent valve (clockwise or anti-clockwise) around a quarter of a turn. This will allow pressure to be dispersed.

Caution: One’s hands and face should be angled away from the steam coming out of the Vent valve!

20. Ensure that the Float of the Float valve has fallen to its lowest position, especially when you are cooking congee or predominantly liquid foods.
21. Slide the Handle clockwise and lift the Pot cover to open the pressure cooker.
    (Note: the pressure cooker should be opened only when the pressure has decreased sufficiently as high pressure could cause personal injury and damage to surroundings.)

CLEANING

1. Disconnect plug and wait until the appliance has cooled down completely.
2. Remove the Inner pot and detach the Aluminium plate from the Pot cover.
3. Always clean cooking appliances soon after use. This will prevent food from sticking to the appliance and reduce the possibility of bacterial growth. It will also reduce the likelihood of the utensils being stained or discoloured.
4. The Inner pot is covered with a non-stick coat. DO NOT use metal kitchen wares or abrasive cleaning materials as these will damage the non-stick coat. DO NOT use detergents or chemicals like benzene, thinner, polishing powder, etc.
5. Add warm water into the Inner pot and Aluminium plate together with some detergent. Use warm water and a non-abrasive sponge to remove the oil and detergent.
6. The outside of the appliance, as well as the inside surface of the External pot, and the bottom of the Pot cover can be cleaned with a damp cloth, and immediately wiped dry. DO NOT use a scrubbing brush.
7. Keep the heating element on the bottom of the External pot clean and free from food debris.
8. Never run water over the appliance as malfunctions may occur if water seeps inside the appliance.

AUTOMATIC ELECTRICITY CUT-OFF FOR SAFETY

In the case where the installed thermostat malfunctions, the power supply will stop automatically to prevent the pressure cooker from overheating. Numerous other safety devices are installed in your pressure cooker, such as:

Anti-block safety device which prevents food from blocking the air outlet;

Pressure-control safety device automatically cuts the electric supply when the pressure reaches pre-set parameters;

Temperature-control safety device automatically cuts the electric supply when the
temperature is abnormal and the inner pot becomes empty of fluids;

Over-heat safety device automatically cuts the electric supply when the thermostat
reads an unusually high temperature;

Limited-pressure safety device automatically discharges the excess pressure if the thermostat or pressure-control device is not working; and Pressure-relief safety device which prevents explosions when all other safety devices do not work. In these cases, the pressure cooker has to be repaired by the service centre.

ENVIRONMENTAL TIP

This appliance, along with all other electronic appliances, should, when it is no longer capable of functioning, be disposed with the least possible environmental damage according to the local regulations in your area. In most cases you can discard the appliance at your local recycling centre.

DISPOSAL: Do not dispose this appliance as unsorted municipal waste. Collection of such waste separately for special treatment is necessary.

Risk of animal entrapment
Before you discard this appliance, please either remove the Pot cover or lock the Pot cover into place so that animals may not easily get trapped inside.

To secure the Pot cover onto the pressure cooker, align the Pot cover with the Pot handles as shown in the figures below:

WARRANTY

Warranty Conditions

1. This warranty provides against defective materials and manufacturing faults throughout for two years from the date of purchase of the appliance. The warranty on the Compressor is 10 years subject to the same conditions as above.
2. This warranty also does not cover normal wear and tear, replacement of consumable materials and accessories, and the cost of maintenance of the appliance.
3. This warranty does not cover the repair or replacement of part/s damaged by misuse, accidents, negligence, alterations, or modifications in any way, or repairs done by any repair organisation without the prior consent of PowerPac Electrical Pte Ltd.
4. Repair and service are to be performed at: 5 Changi South Lane #03-01 Singapore 486045. A transport fee will be charged for personal doorstep service.
5. The original purchaser of the appliance must furnish proof of purchase to our Service Centre with the email or number as registered during submission of warranty when this appliance is sent for repair/service. Failure to do so may delay the receipt of said repair/service by the customer.
6. Under no circumstances whatsoever shall the serial number be erased, defaced or altered by the customer and/or his representatives, or the dealer and/or his agents. Failure to ensure this shall invalidate the warranty.
7. This warranty is deemed to be void if the defect is cause by the attack of household pests, fire, lightning, natural disasters, pollution, abnormal voltage or the usage of generators.
8. This warranty is valid in Singapore only.
9. This warranty will be honoured subject to the customer’s registration of the warranty inclusive of original invoice or valid purchase receipt. Failure to present these documents will result in denial of service. However, if the customer still requests that the defective appliance be repaired, PowerPac Electrical Pte Ltd may, at its discretion, repair the appliance but impose a labour charge, as well as the costs of the replacement parts, to be borne solely by the customer.
10. Please refer to the attached picture for the location of one of our appliance’s serial number, as an example.

Please complete the on-line registration warranty form available on our website. There is no further requirement to send us any hard copy as part of our efforts to save the environment.

In accordance with the terms and conditions of this limited warranty as stated above, PowerPac Electrical Pte Ltd, at its expense shall provide free services for the appliance within the warranty period from its date of purchase from our Authorised dealers.
