SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Read these instructions carefully before use, and save them for future reference.

  • Keep the work area clean. Cluttered, damp or wet work areas increase the risk of injuries.

  • Keep children at a safe distance from the work area. Do not allow children to handle or climb on or in the product.

  • Keep children and onlookers at a safe distance from the work area. Keep onlookers at least 2 metres away from the product when in use.

  • Put away tools that are not being used. When not in use, store the product and all the accessories in a dry place out of the reach of children.

  • Never use the product if you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. If you are taking medication, read the warning text to check whether it may affect your judgement and reflexes. Do not use the product if you are in any doubt.

  • Wear suitable clothing. Do not wear loose-fitting clothing, jewellery or a watch that can get caught in moving parts. Wear a hair net if you have long hair. Roll up long sleeves over your elbows.

  • Do not overreach. Always maintain a firm footing and good balance.

  • Be careful at all times, and use your common sense when working with the product. Quick precautions can prevent serious personal injury and/or material damage.

  • Check the product for damaged parts. Check before use that the product is not damaged and that it is working properly and as intended. Check the product for damaged parts and other factors that could affect functionality. Repair or replace damaged parts immediately.

  • The guards and safety devices must be in place and working properly.

  • Replacing parts and accessories. Only use spare parts and accessories recommended by the manufacturer.

  • Maintain and take good care of the product. Keep the product clean and dry for better and safer work.

  • Maintenance. Servicing and maintenance must be carried out regularly by qualified personnel to ensure safe use.

  • Do not force the product. Never overload the product. Do not force small products to do work that requires a more powerful product. Never modify the product in any way. Do not use the product for any other purpose than the one it is intended to be used for

  • Never leave the product unattended when it is running. Do not leave the product before all moving parts have completely stopped.

  • If the product is used outdoors, only use an extension cord approved for outdoor use. Cords intended for outdoor use reduce the risk of electric shock.

  • The product should be connected to the mains with a residual current device of max 30 mA.

  • Recycle surplus material in accordance with local regulations.

  • The product is only intended for household use. The product must only be used for its intended purpose and in accordance with these instructions.
    WARNING!

  • Switch off the product immediately and pull out the plug if the product is not working properly. If the product is damaged it must be checked and repaired by qualified personnel before it is used again.

  • Switch off the product immediately and pull out the plug if it starts to smell or makes an abnormal noise. Take the product to an authorised service centre to be checked and repaired.

  • This is a Class II product. To ensure safe use, use original insulation materials for repairs and to maintain the insulation.

SAFETY WARNINGS FOR CONCRETE MIXER
  • Switch off the product before moving it. Switch off the product and pull out the plug before transporting it.
  • The product should be placed on a smooth, horizontal and stable surface that can support the weight of the product when it is filled. When the product is full it is very heavy and can cause serious personal injury and/or material damage if it tips over.
  • Never put your hands or tools in the product when it is use. Keep your hands away from moving parts. Keep your body, tools and other items away from moving parts when the product is in use. Body parts or clothing can fasten in moving parts, which can result in serious personal injury.
  • Remove adjuster keys, shovels and trowels, etc. Remove adjuster keys, shovels and trowels before starting the product.
  • The product does not contain any parts that can be repaired by the user. Take the product to an authorised service centre to be checked and repaired.
  • Pull out the plug before opening the casing. Do not use the product unless all the parts of the casing are correctly in place. The product must only be started when the casing is closed.
  • Avoid inhaling fumes. The fumes are harmful to health.
  • Avoid touching, inhaling or swallowing the materials used. Cement and additives are harmful to health on skin contact, or if inhaled and/or swallowed.
  • Use personal safety equipment. The use of personal protective equipment reduces the risk of personal injury and/or material damage.
  • Keep the work area safe. Make sure the work area is well lit. Make sure there is enough space to work around the product. Keep the work area free from obstructions, oil, grease and debris, etc. Do not use the product near flammable liquids, gas or dust. Information on dangerous activity required for use, cleaning and/or maintenance, including description of safe working method.
  • Warning to only use insulation material of the original type and to maintain the same distance.
MINIMISATION OF NOISE AND VIBRATION

To reduce noise and vibrations when in use, limit the time the product is used, and use low-power/vibration and noise mode and suitable safety equipment. Take the following precautions to minimise the risks of exposure to vibrations and/or noise.

  • Only use the product as it is intended to be used and in accordance with these instructions.
  • Make sure that the product is in good condition.
  • Use accessories in good condition, and which are suitable for the purpose.
  • Keep a firm grip on the handles/grips.
  • Maintain the product in accordance with the instructions.
  • Plan the work so that exposure to heavy vibrations is spread over a longer period.
REMAINING RISKS

Even if appropriate safety regulations are adhered to and safety devices are used, it is not possible to eliminate all risks. The following risks remain.

  • Risk of personal injury and/or material damage as a result of the product tipping over.
  • Risk of personal injury as a result of contact with moving parts.
  • Risk of personal injury as a result of skin contact, inhalation or swallowing of the material used.

Always wear ear protection!
The declared values for vibration and noise, which have been measured according to a standardised test method, can be used to compare different tools with each other and for a preliminary assessment of exposure. The measurement values have been determined in accordance with EN ISO 3744:1995.

WARNING!

The actual vibration and noise level when using tools may differ from the specified maximum value, depending on how the tool is used and the material. It is therefore necessary to determine which safety precautions are required to protect the user, based on an estimate of exposure in actual operating conditions (taking into account all stages of the work cycle, e.g. the time when the tool is switched off and when it is idling, in addition to the start- up time).

ASSEMBLY

UNPACKING
  1. Unpack the parts and place them on a level and stable surface.
  2. Remove all packaging material and any transport locking devices.
  3. Check that all parts are included and undamaged. Do not use the product if parts are missing or damaged ­ risk of serious personal injury and/or material damage. Contact the retailer.
  4. Check that personal safety equipment and all the necessary tools and accessories for assembly and use are available.

ASSEMBLY OF STAND
  1. Put the left part of the stand (6a) in the right part (6b).
  2. Align the 4 holes in the stand parts (6) to each other and lock together with the screws M12 x 60 mm (C), washers Ø12 (A) and nuts M12 (B). (Assembly parts A, B, C are in bag A.)

FITTING THE WHEELS

1. Put a wheel (5a) and 2 washers Ø27(5b) on the axle on the wheel holder wheel (4) in the right order and secure with a cotter pin (5c).
2. Fit the other wheel in the same way.
3. Bend the cotters (5c) to secure the wheels (5a). (Assembly parts 5c, 5b are in bag A.)

ASSEMBLY OF LEG AND WHEEL HOLDER
  1. Put the stand (6) upright in the leg (7) and wheel holder (4).
  2. Screw together with the screws M8x55mm (C) and M8 x 65 mm (D), washers Ø8 (A) and nuts M8 (B).

FITTING THE DRUM
  1. Put the holders (8a) in the stand upright and put the drum axle (8) on the stand (6).

  2. Screw together with the screws M8x60mm(C), washers Ø8(A) and nuts M8(B). (Assembly parts A, B, C are in bag B.)

  3. Align the holes and screws and put the rubber seal (1c) on the bottom part of the drum (1b).

  4. Check that the rubber seal is flush with the bottom part of drum and not twisted or bent.

  5. Align the markings to each other and put the top part of the drum (1a) on the bottom part (1b).

  6. Screw together with the screws M8x20 mm(D). (Assembly parts D are in bag C.)

FITTING THE MIXER BLADES
  1. Align the holes to each other and fit the mixer blade (2) on the drum (1).

  2. Screw together with the screws M8 x 20 mm (E), washers Ø8 (A), thin washers Ø8 (B), rubber seals Ø8 (C) and nuts M8 (D). (Assembly parts A, B, C, D, E are in bag D.)

  3. Fit the other mixer blade in the same way.

IMPORTANT:
The bend on the blades should be turned in the direction of rotation of the drum.

FITTING THE PLATE FOR ADJUSTINGTHE ANGLE
  1. Put the plate to adjust the angle (10) on the drum axle (8). Check that the plate is properly in place on the holder (8a).
  2. Screw together with the screws M8 x 30 mm (D), washers Ø8 (A), spring washers Ø8 (B) and nuts M8 (C). (Assembly parts A, B, C, D are in bag E.)

FITTING THE CONTROL WHEEL
  1. Align the control wheel (9) and put it on the drum axle (8). Check that the wings (9d) go in the slots (10b) in the plate to adjust the angle (10).

  2. Screw together with screw M10 x 70mm (E), washers Ø10 (A) and nut M10 (B). Fit the spring (C) and the bolt M8x16mm (D). (Assembly parts A, B, C, D, E are in bag F.)

FITTING THE MOTOR UNIT
  1. Align the motor unit and fit it on the drum axle (8)/stand (6).
  2. Screw together with the screws M8x20 mm(C), M8x25 mm(D), spring washers Ø8 (B) and washers Ø8 (A). (Assembly parts A, B, C, D are in bag G.)

POSITIONING THE CONCRETE MIXER

The concrete mixer should be placed on a smooth and level surface. To ensure stability the product should be anchored to a concrete floor with screws, plugs and washers (sold separately).

  1. Choose a place where the product can be placed permanently. Check that there is a suitable power point nearby.

  2. Mark out two holes to position the product (7c).

  3. Drill the two holes.

  4. Remove any dust and insert plugs. Check that the edges of the holes are smooth.

  5. Fix the product in place with washers and screws (sold separately), recommended size M10.

WARNING! Do not put anything under the product to adjust the height or improve its stability. If the product is not level or stable, move it to another place.

Do not attempt to use the product on grass or gravel – it can sink and/or tip over and cause personal injury and/or material damage.

USE

BEFORE USING

Always check that the product is in good condition before use. Check that all screw unions are tight, that moving parts are correctly adjusted and can move freely, that no parts are incorrectly fitted or broken, that no wires or belts are damaged, and that there are no other factors that could affect functionality

MAINS CONNECTION
  1. Keep the work area clean and well lit. Keep children, onlookers and pets away from the work area. You can easily lose control of the product if you are distracted – risk of personal injury.
  2. Route the power cord so that there is no risk of tripping over or damaging it. The cord must be long enough to ensure freedom of movement when working.
  3. Because the product uses water the power cord should be hung in a curve below the power point to ensure that water cannot run along the cord to the power point.

WARNING!

  • Check that the mains voltage corresponds to the rated voltage on the type plate.
  • Only use an extension cord approved for outdoor use. Connect the cord to a splash-proof power point.
  • The cross-sectional area of the extension cord must be dimensioned for the power supply to the product.
    • 1.5 mm2 up to 60 m in length
    • 2.5 mm2 up to 100 m in length
  • Use a mains connection protected by a residual current device. Check that the circuit is not overloaded.
ADJUSTING

Adjust the angle of the drum by pulling out the control wheel (9). First release the lock pin by pulling the control wheel away from the drum and then turning the wheel until the drum is at the required angle. Move back the wheel so that the lock pin engages again.

WARNING!

  • Switch off the product and pull out the plug before adjusting.
  • Keep a firm grip on the control wheel when turning it.
SWITCHING ON/OFF
  1. Start the product by pressing the power switch button I (3a).

  2. Switch off the product by pressing the power switch button O (3b).

  3. Wait until all moving parts have come to a complete standstill.

NOTE:

The product has a magnetic switch to ensure that it cannot start unexpectedly when the power is restored after a power cut. If the product stops as a result of a power cut it must be started again by pressing the power switch button I (3a). Check the functionality of the magnetic switch at regular intervals by pulling out the plug and plugging it back in when in use. The product should switch off and then not start again.

HOW TO USE
  • Check the power cord, plug and all accessories for damage before using the product. Do not use the product if it is damaged, or worn.
  • Always check before use that all the accessories are correctly fitted.
  • Keep other people, especially children, and pets at a safe distance from the work area.
  • Use suitable safety equipment and take regular pauses.
  • Keep a firm grip on the control wheel when turning it. Adjust the drum to a suitable angle.
  • Start the product.
  • Always start the product before filling material in the drum. The drum should rotate during the filling.
  • Do not throw material into the drum, this can cause it fasten on the back of the drum. Pour the material into the drum in a steady flow.
  • Make sure there is enough space to work around the product. Do not use the product in extreme temperatures (> 40°C℃).

WARNING!

  • Do not attempt to move the product when it is full and/or in use – risk of personal injury.
  • Never leave the product unattended when it is running. Do not switch off the product when there is material in the drum.
MIXING
  1. Put the required amount of gravel in the drum.
  2. Put the required amount of cement in the drum.
  3. Put the required amount of water in the drum.
  4. Put the required amount of water in the drum.
  5. Repeat these steps until the right consistency is obtained.
  6. Allow the material to mix.
  7. Do not overload the drum.

NOTE:

Contact Jula or other qualified personnel for  advice concerning the composition of the material.

AFTER USE
  1. Switch off the product, pull out the plug, and allow it to cool.
  2. Check, clean and store the product as described in the maintenance instructions.
CHECKING AND TENSIONING THE BELT
  1. Tension the belt after 25 working hours. Follow the instructions below to check the tension of the belt.
  2. Remove the guard over the belt.
  3. Check the belt for cracks and other damage. If the belt is damaged, replace it as described below.
  4. Undo the screws on the motor attachment and move up the attachment as far as possible..
  5. Lift the belt off the large pulley, and then from the pulley on the motor.
  6. Put the new belt on the small pulley first, and then on the large one.
  7. Move down the motor attachment until the belt is correctly tensioned, as below. Tighten the screws on the motor attachment.
Check and adjust the tension of the belt
  1. Press a finger on the middle of the belt. It should be possible to press in the belt about 1.3 to 1.9 cm.

  2. If the belt can be pressed in more than this, tension it by undoing the screws on the motor attachment and moving the attachment away from the pulley. Tighten the screws on the motor attachment and check the tension again. If the belt is so long that it cannot be properly tensioned it must be replaced.

  3. If the belt is tensioned to tightly, undo the
    screws and move the attachment towards the pulley. Tighten the screws on the motor attachment and check the tension again. 1. Deflection of belt

  4. Replace the guard over the belt before starting the product.

MAINTENANCE

WARNING!

Switch off the product, pull out the plug, and allow the product to cool before cleaning and/or maintenance.

  • Keep the product clean. Clean the product after use and before putting it away.
  • Proper maintenance and regular cleaning are essential for the product to work satisfactorily.
  • Always check the product, the power cord and plug for damage before use. Do not use the product if it is damaged.
  • The product is permanently lubricated and does not need further lubrication.
  • Make sure there is enough space to work around the product for maintenance

WARNING!

Do not carry out any maintenance or adjustments other than as described in these instructions. Repairs must be carried out by qualified personnel.

CLEANING

Carefully clean the product after use.

  1. Clean the product with a dry cloth. Use a brush for parts difficult to get at. Clean the ventilation openings on the product after use. The product can be cleaned with compressed air (max 3 bar).
  2. Residual material in the drum will harden and cause more material to fasten next time the product is used, which in time will prevent the product from working. Scrape off hardened cement from the drum. Do not put stones or bricks in the drum and do not knock it with a hard object to loosen hardened cement – this can damage the product.
  3. To clean the product run it for about two minutes with a mixture of water and coarse gravel. Pour out the mixture and rinse the inside and outside of the drum.
  4. The drum can be rinsed as it has a protection rating of IP44.

NOTE:

  • Do not use strong or abrasive chemicals.
  • Do not spray water or any other liquid on the motor casing.
STORAGE
  1. Switch off the product and pull out the plug.
  2. Clean the product in accordance with the instructions.
  3. Store the product and all the accessories in a dark, dry and frost-free, well ventilated place.
  4. Store the product out of the reach of children. A suitable storage temperature is 10 to 30°C.
  5. Store the product protected from dust.
TRANSPORT
  1. Switch off the product and pull out the plug.
  2. Use transport protection where appropriate.
  3. Always carry the product with the handle (7a).
  4. Protect the product from vibrations and knocks during transport.
  5. Secure the product so that it cannot tip over.
  6. Size of product: 1.25 x 0.68 x 1.35 m.
REPAIRS

The product does not contain any parts that can be repaired by the user. Take the product to an authorised service centre, or other qualified personnel, to be checked and repaired.
