Safety Information

Where to Use and Store Your Scale
To ensure your safety as well as the service life of your scale, DO NOT use the scale:

  • on the slippery floor such as tile floor
  • immediately after bath or with wet feet
  • near a cell phone or microwave oven

Avoid storing your scale in the following locations:

  • Where there is water
  • Where the device may be exposed to extreme temperatures, humidity, moisture, direct sunlight, or dust
  • Where there is risk of the scale being shocked or dropped
  • Near where chemicals or corrosive gases are stored
  • Within the reach of infants or children

Proper Use of Your Scale
To ensure the accuracy of measurements, please follow the instructions below before you weigh yourself.

  • Place the scale on a hard, flat surface. Soft surfaces such as carpet will affect the scale’s accuracy.
  • Weigh yourself at least two hours after eating, preferably after getting up in the morning.
  • Avoid weighing yourself immediately after strenuous exercise, taking a sauna or bath, drinking, or eating.
  • Always weigh yourself at the same time of the day, and on the same scale located on the same hard, flat surface.

CAUTION

  • This device is designed for use on people 10 years and older and is not intended for infants.
  • This device is designed for use In the home healthcare environment to measure a person’s weight.
  • This device is suitable for people who can read and understand this user guide. The device should not be used to diagnose or treat any medical condition. Any information provided by this device is not meant to treat, cure, or prevent any disease or illness from happening. If in doubt, contact your doctor.
  • This device is contraindicated for any female user who may be pregnant.
  • This device is contraindicated for any person who is connected to a wearable or implantable electronic device or instrument such as a pecemaker or defibrillator.
  • The scale is equipped with a data transmission function. It may emit electromagnetic energy so as to perform its intended function. Nearby portable and mobile RF communications equipment can affect the performance of the scale. And the scale can interfere with electrical equipment in its vicinity.
  • Manufacturer will make available on request circuit diagrams, component parts list, etc.
  • Please use the device according to the user manual. Any misuse can cause eletric shock, bums, fire, and other unexpected hazards
  • Please use and store the device per the environmental conditions provided in the user manual.
  • Don’t expose the device to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, moist, or corrosive environment.
  • Don’t step on the scale when your body or feet are wet, especially after bathing or showering, to prevent slipping.
  • Please keep the device out of reach of infants, children, and pets, since inhalation or swallowing of small parts is dangerous or even fatal.
  • Don’t use the device beyond the expected lifetime because degraded sensors can degrade performance or cause other problems.
  • The patient is an intended operator. The patient can measure, transmit data, and change batteries under normal circumstances and maintain the device and its accessories according to the user manual.
  • The scale requires 30 minutes to warm from the minimum and cool from maximum storage temperature between uses until it is ready for measurement.
  • After drop or shock that may cause changes in the performance, please contact Customer Support.
  • Don’t open or repair the device by yourself. The use of heat- and cold-producing devices, such as electric heating blankets, heating pads, or ice packs. may impair the performance of device and Increase the risk of injury to the user.
  • If you are allergic to plastic or rubber, don’t use this device.
  • Do not use the device if it is damaged in any way. The continuous use of a damaged unit may cause injury, improper results, or serious danger.
  • WARNING: Don’t use this device in an oxygen-rich environment.
  • WARNING: Don’t use near active High Frequency surgical equipment and the RF shielded room of an Medical Equipment system for magnetic resonance imaging, where the intensity of Electro Magnetic disturbances is high.
  • WARNING: Portable RF communications equipment (including peripherals such as antenna cables and external antennas) should be used no closer than 30 cm (12 inches) to any part of this equipment, including cables specified by the manufacturer. Otherwise, degradation of the performance of this equipment could result.
  • WARNING: Use of this equipment adjacent to or stacked with other equipment should be avoided because it could result in improper operation. If such use is necessary, this equipment and the other equipment should be observed to verify that they are operating normally.
  • WARNING: No modifications of this equipment are allowed. This may result in increased EMISSIONS or decreased IMMUNITY of the scale.

Getting Started

  1. Installing the Batteries and Pairing the Scale
    • Open the battery door on the back of the scale.
    • Insert the batteries (4 x 1.5V AA) into the battery compartment according to the polarity indications marked inside the compartment.

• The scale will automatically pair-up with the system when used for the first time. The signal symbol will be displayed at the same time. It indicates the quality of the current network signal.

If the device successfully pairs up, the symbol “[ ]” will be shown on the LCD.

If the device fails to pair up, the symbol “E1” will be shown on the LCD.

CAUTION
• When the symbol ” ” and ” Lo” appear, the device will power off. Then replace with a new set of batteries. Please replace all four batteries at the same time. Do NOT mix the old batteries with the new one.
• Worn batteries are hazardous waste. Do NOT dispose of them together with the household garbage.
• Please refer to the local ordinances and recycling instructions regarding disposal of the worn batteries and scrapped device.
• Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable (Ni-Cd, Ni- MI-I, etc) batteries.
If you do not intend to use this unit for a prolonged period of time, it is advisable to remove the batteries before storing.

  1. Select Unit of Measure
    • With batteries correctly installed, you will see the black “UNIT” button into the battery door. Press it to select your preferred unit of measurement. The default measurement unit is “lb” You may press the “UNIT” button to choose between pounds, kilograms, and stones.

• Close battery door

Start Measuring

  1. Step on the platform of the device and remain still.
  2. Do not move or talk during the measurement.
  3. When the measurement concludes, the display brieftly blinks and results are shown on the display.
  4. Step off the scale platform.
  5. The device automatically transmits measurement results. When data is successfully transmitted, “ ” will be displayed and icon ” 4)” stops blinking.

When carrying out usual maintenance, please ensure practice of the following Do’s and Don’ts:

  • DO use a dry soft cloth to wipe the dust off of this device.
  • DO use a wet soft cloth, dipped into water and wrung out, to wipe the dirt off of this device. Then use a dry soft cloth to dry up the device.
  • DON’T wash the device with water or immerse it in water.
  • DON’T use propellant, abrasive or other chemicals to wipe the dirt off in avoidance of discolor or malfunction.
  • DON’T disassemble this device. If you have any problems with this device, please contact customer support.
  • Don’t perform maintenance while device is in use.

  • Your scale is guaranteed to be free of material and workmanship defects for a period of two (2) years from the date of receipt.
  • This warranty does NOT cover damages caused by misuse or abuse, including but not limited to:
    → Failure caused by unauthorized repairs or modifications;
    → Damage caused by shock or drop during transportation;
    → Failure caused by improper operation inconsistent with the instructions stated in this user manual;
    → Malfunction or damage from failure to provide the recommended maintenance;
    → Damage caused by improper use of power supply.
