Overview

Thank you for purchasing a SIGURO appliance. We are grateful for your trust and we are pleased to introduce the device to you on the following pages and acquaint you with all its functions and uses.

SAFETY INFORMATION

Please read this manual carefully before use and keep it for future reference.

  1. This appliance is intended for use by children 8 years of age and older and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, provided they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe manner and understand the potential hazards. Children must not play with the device. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be done by children unless they are 8 years old and under supervision.

  2. Keep the appliance and its power cord out of the reach of children under
    8 years of age.

  3. If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a dangerous situation.
    WARNING: Hot surface. Surfaces can become hot during use.

  4. This appliance is intended for use in the home and similar spaces, such as:
    • kitchenettes in shops, offices and other workplaces;
    • in agriculture,
    • by the guests in hotels, motels and other residential facilities;
    • in bed and breakfast establishments.

  5. To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not immerse the appliance or its power cord in water or any other liquid.

  6. WARNING: Avoid spilling liquid on the plug.

  7. Wash the removable container in warm water with a little neutral dish detergent. Rinse with clean water and wipe dry. Follow the instructions in the “Cleaning and maintenance” section.

  8. WARNING: There is a risk of potential injury if used incorrectly.

  9. The surface of the heating element contains residual heat after use. Take extra care not to get burned. Always use heat-insulated handles and protective kitchen gloves when handling the appliance.

  10. This appliance is intended for cooking rice and for domestic use, indoors.
    Do not use it for purposes other than those for which it is intended.
    Do not use it for commercials and laboratory purposes. Do not use it outdoors.

  11. Before connecting the mains plug, make sure that the voltage on the type plate of the appliance corresponds to the voltage in your mains socket.

  12. Always place the appliance on a dry, level and stable surface at a sufficient distance from the mains socket so that it cannot tip over. Do not place the appliance near heat sources, such as electric or gas hobs, stoves, etc. Do not place the appliance on electric or gas stoves and ovens.

  13. Do not use the appliance on a metal surface, such as a sink drainer, or on an uneven surface.

  14. Do not let the power cord hang over the sharp edges of the worktop or table, avoid contact with hot surfaces.

  15. Do not use the appliance near heat-sensitive materials or surfaces, such as curtains, draperies, etc. Keep in mind that steam may escape from the appliance during use, which may damage some surfaces.

  16. Use only the accessories supplied with the appliance or recommended by the manufacturer.

  17. The appliance must not be used in close proximity to water, in bathrooms, showers and near swimming pools, where it may fall into the water or mater may splash on the appliance.

  18. Do not leave the appliance unattended while it is in operation.

  19. Never connect or switch on the rice cooker without the cooking vessel properly inserted in the cooker body.

  20. Do not pour water or any other liquid into the body of the cooker. Only the cooking vessel is intended for the cooking of rice.

  21. Lift the glass lid carefully and tilted so that the escaping steam is directed away from you. Otherwise, you can be scalded. Do not let water drip from the lid into the body of the cooker, it can only drip into the cooking vessel.

  22. Attention: During operation, the cooker heats up and hot steam escapes through the openings in the lid. Do not cover any openings. Do not touch hot surfaces.

  23. Do not use the appliance if it shows any signs of damage, if it has been dropped, the appliance is not working properly or the cooking vessel is damaged or cracked. A damaged or cracked vessel must be replaced before using the appliance again.

  24. Switch off and unplug the appliance when not in use, leaving it unattended, before disassembling, assembling, moving or cleaning it.

  25. Allow the appliance to cool completely before cleaning.

  26. Disconnect the power cord by pulling on the plug, not the cord.

  27. The appliance does not contain any parts repairable by the user. Do not attempt to repair or modify the appliance yourself. Return the appliance for repair or adjustment only to an authorized service center.

  28. Store the appliance in a dry indoor environment.

  29. The manufacturer declines any liability for damage caused by improper use or failure to follow the instructions in this manual. Improper use or non-compliance with the instructions will void the warranty

USE

Before first use

Remove the appliance and its accessories from the packaging. Before disposing of the packaging, be sure to remove all components. Check the appliance and accessories for damage.
Wipe the outside of the appliance with a soft sponge slightly moistened with warm water. Wipe dry with a clean cloth.
Wash the lid, the cooking vessel, the measuring cup and the spoon in warm water
with a little kitchen detergent. Rinse with clean water and wipe dry. Make sure that all parts of the appliance are dry before use.

Cooking rice
  1. Place the rice cooker on a dry and level surface.

  2. Make sure that the bottom of the inner vessel and the surface of the hob are clean and dry. Wipe them with a clean sponge and dry cloth as needed. This ensures perfect contact between the outer and inner vessel.

  3. Insert the cooking vessel in the rice cooker. Turn the vessel in the rice cooker left and right and make sure it sits flat on the cooking area. The vessel must be properly seated in the rice cooker, otherwise the appliance will not work properly and it may be damaged.

  4. Using the measuring cup provided, measure out the required amount of rice. Always measure an even amount, do not overfill the measuring cup. Before cooking, rinse the rice with a stream of water to remove loose starch. The rice is ready for cooking when clear water flows out.

  5. Pour the washed rice into a cooking vessel. Make sure that the rice is spread evenly on the bottom of the cooking vessel and does not stick to the walls.

  6. Add water to the appropriate line according to the amount of rice inserted. The container is marked with lines according to the number of the cups of rice

  7. Cover the vessel with the glass lid.

  8. Plug the power cord into the socket on the back of the appliance and insert the plug into a properly grounded socket. Turn the main switch to the On position and the orange WARM light will light up.

  9. Push the switch down to start cooking. The red COOK light comes on.

  10. After cooking the rice, the switch is released to its original up position and the rice cooker automatically switches to warmm mode (automatic temperature maintenance). The orange WARM light comes on.

  11. Carefully remove the lid and stir the rice with the supplied serving spoon to keep it light and fluffy. Replace the lid and let the rice stand for 10 to 15 minutes before
    serving. Excess moisture will be absorbed during this time and the rice will be fluffy.

  12. After use, turn the rice cooker off with the main switch and disconnect the power cord.

Warning:
Use only the supplied plastic spoon to stir the rice. Do not use metal or wooden utensils, as this could damage the non – stick surface of the cooking vessel.

Note:
In warming mode, the rice cooker will maintain a temperature between 60 and 80° C. If the temperature drops below 60° C, the rice will heat up automatically and the orange WARM light will flash during this time.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Always switch off the appliance, disconnect the mains plug from the mains socket and allow it to cool down completely before cleaning or any maintenance.

Warning:
Never immerse the appliance, the power cable and plug in water or any other liquid.

Do not use plastic or metal scrapers, harsh cleaners, chemicals, petrol, solvents or other similar substances to clean any parts of the appliance. The surface finish could be seriously damaged.

Heating element and interior of the rice cooker

Wipe the heating element and the interior of the rice cooker with a clean cloth slightly moistened with warm water. Make sure that you removed all food residue. Cooking vessel and accessories Wash the cooking vessel and accessories after each use and keep them clean. Wash them in warm water with a little amount of kitchen detergent. Rinse with clean water, wipe dry. If the food residue sticks to the bottom of the vessel, pour a little warm water into it, add a little kitchen detergent and let it stand. Then wash and rinse. Do not wash the cooking vessel in dishwasher.

Outer surface

Wipe the outside of the appliance with a clean cloth slightly moistened with warm water. Wipe dry. Only wipe the controls with a dry cloth.

Storage

Before storing, make sure that the appliance and its accessories are cool and clean. Store the appliance and its accessories in a dry and well-ventilated place out of the reach of children or pets. Do not place any objects on the appliance.
