SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

WARNING!
Read all warnings, safety instructions, and other instructions carefully before use. Failure to follow all the instructions and safety instructions can result in the risk of electric shock, fire, and/or serious personal injury. Save these instructions and safety instructions for future reference. The term “power tool” in all the warnings below refers to mains-powered (corded) or battery-powered (cordless) power tools.

WORK AREA

• Keep the work area clean and well lit. Dark and cluttered work areas increase the risk of accidents and injuries.
• Do not use power tools in explosive environments, such as in the vicinity of flammable liquids, gas, or dust. Power tools produce sparks that can ignite dust and fumes.
• Keep onlookers, especially children, and pets at a safe distance when using power tools. You can easily lose control of the product if you are distracted.

ELECTRICAL SAFETY

• The plug on the power tool must match the powerpoint. Never modify the plug in any way. Never use an adapter with earthed products. Unmodified plugs and matching power points reduce the risk of electric shock.
• Avoid body contact with earthed surfaces such as pipes, radiators, cookers, and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed.
• Do not expose power tools to rain or moisture. There is a greater risk of electric shock if water gets into a power tool.
• Be careful with the power cord. Never use the power cord to carry or pull the tool, or to pull out the plug from the powerpoint. Keep the power cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges, and moving parts. Damaged or tangled power cords increase the risk of electric shock.
• If using the power tool outdoors, only use an extension cord approved for outdoor use. Cords intended for outdoor use reduce the risk of electric shock.
• If it is absolutely necessary to use power tools in damp conditions, use a mains connection protected by a residual current device (RDC). Using an RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.

NOTE:
When starting the product there may be a temporary voltage drop in the mains supply, which could affect other equipment. Such interference does not normally occur if the impedance in the mains supply Zmax is less than 0.402 ohm. Contact your electricity supplier for more information.

PERSONAL SAFETY

• Stay alert. Pay attention to what you are doing, and use your common sense when working with power tools. Never use power tools if you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication. Remember that a fraction of a second of inattention or negligence can result in serious personal injury.
• Use personal safety equipment. Wear safety glasses. Depending on the type of tool and how it is used, safety equipment such as dust masks, non-slip safety shoes, safety helmets, and ear protection reduce the risk of personal injury.
• Avoid accidental starting. Make sure the power switch is in the OFF position before plugging in the plug or inserting the battery or lifting/carrying the tool. Carrying a power tool with your finger on the switch, or connecting a tool to the mains supply when the switch is in the ON position increases the risk of accidents and injuries.
• Remove adjuster keys/spanners before switching on the tool. Spanners or the like that are left in a rotating part of the tool can cause personal injury.
• Do not overreach. Always maintain a firm footing and good balance. This ensures better control over the power tool in unexpected situations.
• Wear suitable clothing. Do not wear loose-fitting clothing or jewelry. Keep your hair, clothing, and gloves away from moving parts. Loose-fitting clothing, jewelry, and long hair can get caught in moving parts.
• If dust extraction and dust collection equipment is available, this should be connected and used correctly. The use of such devices can reduce the risk of
  dust-related problems.

USE AND CARE

• Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for the planned work. The tool does the job better and is safer when used at the rate for which it was designed.
• Do not use the tool if it cannot be switched on and off with the power switch. Power tools that cannot be controlled with the power switch are dangerous and must be repaired.
• Pull out the plug and/or remove the battery before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or putting the power tool away. These safety precautions reduce the risk of accidentally starting the tool.
• Store power tools out of the reach of children when not in use. Never allow children or anyone who is unfamiliar with the power tool and these instructions, to use the tool. Power tools are dangerous if used by inexperienced persons.
• Keep power tools properly maintained. Check that moving parts are properly adjusted and do not jam and that no parts are incorrectly fitted or damaged. Check for other factors that could affect functionality. If the power tool is damaged, it must be repaired before being used again. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
• Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to jam and are easier to control.
  • Use the power tool, accessories, bits, etc., in accordance with these instructions, taking into account the actual working conditions and the work that is to be done. It can be dangerous to use power tools for purposes other than those they are intended to be used for.

SERVICE

• The power tool must only be serviced by qualified personnel using identical spare parts. This will ensure that the power tool remains safe to use.

SPECIAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

• Keep your hands and the rest of your body away from the chain when the machine is running. Check that the chain is not touching the ground or an object when starting the product. A moment of inattention or carelessness can result in serious personal injury.
• Hold the back handle in your right hand and the front handle in your left hand, even if you are left-handed. Never hold the product in any other way – risk of personal injury.
• Hold the product by the insulated grips when working in areas where it may come into contact with concealed electrical cables or its own power cord. Contact with a live cable will cause the metal parts on the product to also become live – the risk of electric shock.
• Wear safety glasses and ear protection. A safety helmet with a visor, safety gloves, and non-slip safety shoes with protection for the lower part of the leg is recommended. The proper protective equipment reduces the risk of personal injury in the event of contact with the chain or ejected material.
• Never use the product from a ladder, tree, or another unstable place. This could cause you to lose your balance or lose control of the product.
• Branches under tension can spring away when they are cut and cause personal injury and/or cause you to lose control of the product.
• Be careful when sawing in bushes. The thin stems can fasten in the chain and hit you, or cause you to lose your balance.
• Switch off the product and pull out the plug before moving. Carry the product with the front handle and with the bar pointing away from your body. Transport and store the product with the supplied guard fitted. Correct handling reduces the risk of coming into contact with the chain.
• Follow the instructions for lubrication, tensioning the chain, and replacing accessories. The wrong tension and/or lubrication of the chain can result in a risk of the chain breaking and/or kickback.
• Keep handles clean, dry, and free from oil and grease. Greasy handles make it difficult to hold the product– risk of personal injury and/or material damage.
• Only use the product to saw wood. Do not use the product for any other purpose than the one it is intended to be used for. Do not attempt to saw plastic, bricks, or building materials not made of wood. Incorrect use can result in the risk of personal injury and/or material damage.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR BANDSAWS

• Hold the power tool by the insulated grips when working in areas where the tool could come into contact with concealed electrical cables or its own power cord. Contact with a live cable will cause the metal parts on the power tool to also become live – the risk of electric shock.
• Never leave the power tool unattended when running. Switch off the tool and wait until all moving parts have completely stopped before putting it down.
• Always check before use that the tensioning arm is applied and that the blade is tensioned.
• Secure the workpiece before working. Be extra careful on curves, corners, edges, etc.
• The workpiece and motor casing can get very hot when in use. If necessary, stop working and allow the product and workpiece to cool. Spray water or coolant on the blade when necessary.
• Check that the type plate and all the warning signs are clean and legible. These markings contain important safety information. Contact the retailer if the type plate or stickers are missing, damaged, or illegible.
• Avoid accidental starting. Carry out all the preparations before starting the product.
• Switch off the tool and wait until all moving parts have completely stopped before putting it down. Otherwise, the moving parts can catch on the surface and cause the tool to move out of control, which can result in serious personal injury.
• Hold the tool firmly with both hands to withstand to torque when the tool starts.
• Never leave the tool unattended when plugged in. Never leave the tool unattended when plugged in.
• This is not a toy. Keep out of the reach of children.

MINIMISATION OF NOISE AND

VIBRATION

• To reduce noise and vibrations when in use, limit the time the product is used, and use low-power/vibration and noise mode and suitable safety equipment.
• Take the following precautions to minimize the risks of exposure to vibrations and/or noise.
  – Only use the product in accordance with these instructions.
  – Make sure that the product is in good condition.
  – Use sharp accessories in good condition and suitable for the purpose.
  – Keep a firm grip on the handles/grips.
  – Maintain and lubricate the product in accordance with these instructions.
  – Plan the work so that exposure to heavy vibrations is spread over several days.

IMPORTANT:

• Read these instructions carefully before use, and familiarise yourself with the controls on the product and how they are used. Failure to follow all the
  instructions and safety instructions can result in the risk of electric shock, fire, and/or serious personal injury.

• Stay alert. Pay attention to what you are doing, and use your common sense when working with the product. A quick response can prevent serious personal injury and/or material damage.

• Switch off the product immediately and pull out the plug if the product is not working properly. A damaged product must be checked and repaired by
  qualified personnel before being used again.

REMAINING RISKS

• Even if appropriate safety regulations are adhered to and safety devices are used, it is not possible to eliminate all risks. The following risks remain.
  – Vibration injuries (if the product is used for long periods, or is not handled and maintained correctly).
  – Personal injury and/or material damage as a result of defective accessories, or kickback resulting from concealed objects.
  – Personal injury and/or material damage as a result of falling or ejected objects.
  – During prolonged use the vibrations can cause circulation problems in the hands. Keep your body and especially your hands warm. Wear gloves. Stop
  working immediately and seek medical attention if you experience numbness, itching, tingling, pain if your skin changes color, or loss of sensitivity in your fingers, hands or wrists. You are more at risk at low temperatures.

WARNING!
The product generates an electromagnetic field when in use. This field can in some circumstances affect active or passive medical implants. If you have a medical implant you should consult your doctor and/or the manufacturer of the medical implant before using the product to reduce the risk of serious or fatal personal injury.

Always wear ear protection!

The declared values for vibration and noise, which have been measured according to a standardized test method, can be used to compare different tools with each other and for a preliminary assessment of exposure. The measurement values have been determined in accordance with EN 60745-2-20:2009.

ASSEMBLY

WARNING!
Pull out the plug before adjusting or replacing accessories.

FITTING THE GUIDE
Fit the guide (7) before use.

1. Undo the screws on the bracket.
2. Place the guide (7) round the saw blade.
3. Tighten the screws.

USE

Switch the LED work light on and off with the switch (11).

STARTING/STOPPING

1. Plug the bandsaw plug into an earthed power point.
2. Start the product with the power switch (6).
3. Adjust the speed with the speed control (5). Select a suitable speed for the material to be sawn.
4. Switch off the product with the power switch (6).
5. Unplug the plug from the power point after use.

SAWING

1. Check that the power switch is switched off and plug in the plug.
2. Secure the workpiece on a workbench or other firm surface.
3. Keep the power cord away from the work area.
4. Place the guide against the workpiece with the blade at an angle of 90° to the workpiece.
5. Start the product and wait until the blade reaches maximum speed before applying it to the workpiece.
6. Set the required speed with the speed control (5).
7. Tilt the product so that the saw blade is vertical.
8. Start with an incision and then move the rest of the blade in the workpiece.

IMPORTANT:

• Do not press too hard. The weight of the product is enough to achieve a clean cut. Too much pressure can twist the blade or brake it, which can result in personal injury and/or material damage.
• At the edge of the workpiece, finish the cut by slowly raising the product a little so that the blade lifts.

USING OUTDOORS
When used outdoors the product must be connected to the mains supply via a residual current device with a tripping current of ≤ 30 mA.

AFTER USE

• Allow moving parts to stop by themselves when the product is switched off.
• Never brake the accessory by pressing it against a workpiece or anything else.

MAINTENANCE

WARNING!
Switch off the product and pull out the plug before cleaning.

• Never poke any objects into the openings in the product – risk of fire and/or electric shock.
• Do not subject the product to knocks and blows.
• Protect the product from grease.
• Clean the product and the power cord at regular intervals. Keep the ventilation openings on the product clean.

REPLACING SAW BLADES

1. Turn the tensioning arm (1) to release the saw blade.
2. Centre the saw blade in the two head bearings (9).
3. Hold the blade on the head bearings and press in. Check that the saw blade runs smoothly round the wheels.
4. Turn the tensioning arm (1) to it is applied and tension the saw blade.
5. Plug in the plug.
6. Start the product. Check that the saw blade runs smoothly and firmly round the wheels and that the teeth point in the
