Safety instructions provided in this user manual should be carefully read before you use the product for the first time.

SAFETY REGULATIONS

The user manual should be read carefully before you use the product for the first time. If the product is given to someone for temporary use, be sure to enclose user manual to it.

• Do not misuse the product.

• Store the product beyond reach of children and unauthorized people.

• It is prohibited to disassemble or repair the product yourself.
  Entrust product repair to qualified personnel and use original spare parts only.

• Do not use the product in explosive environment, close to flammable materials.

• Protect the product from exposure to high temperature, for example, prolonged heating in the sun, fire, water and moisture.

• Charge the battery by the charging cable included in the delivery package.

FUNCTIONS/APPLICATIONS

IR-CAM3 CONDTROL is a universal thermal imager designed for measuring and visualizing temperature distribution on the surface of the objects within the range -20… +550 °C. It allows to quickly and accurately identify places of heat leakage, detect areas of overheating of various objects and wiring, as well as evaluate thermal insulation  properties of building structures.

BEFORE START OPERATION

Install memory card
Remove rubber plug on the top side of the housing. Insert microSD card into the memory card slot. Put the rubber plug back.
Note: the device can support memory cards up to 32 Gb.

Charge the battery
The device is powered via a built-in Li-ion battery 3.6V 5000mAh.
Charge the battery before using it for the first time:

1. Connect the USB connector to the power source.
2. Insert USB Type-C connector into the charging port of the device.
3. Symbol will remain on the display while charging. It takes around 4 hours to fully charge the battery.
4. As soon as the battery is fully charged, symbol will appear on the display. Disconnect the device from the power source. The device in ready for use.

If the battery charge indicator starts flashing on the display while operation, the battery must be charged.

OPERATION

Switch on/off the device

Press and hold ****during 3 seconds.

Menu
The user can adjust all necessary settings in menu before start making measurements.
Switch on the device. Press central button to enter the menu.

Short press left and right buttons to select the menu option.
Short press central button to enter menu option. Short press up/down/left/right buttons to adjust the setting.
Short press central button to confirm the setting. Short press to return to the previous screen or press the trigger to exit the menu.

Temperature spots
Short press central button to enter the menu.
Short press left and right buttons to select . Short press central button to enter menu option. Short press up/down/ left/right buttons to select temperature spot that is  necessary to indicate on the display. Short press central button to confirm the setting. Short press to return to the previous screen or press the trigger to exit the menu.
Temperature in activated spots will be indicated on the display.
To delete all the spots, select “Close” and confirm the setting.

Image mode
Short press central button to enter the menu.
Short press left and right buttons to select . Short press central button to enter menu option. Short press up/ down/left/right buttons to select necessary image mode.
There are 4 image modes available:

Note: In order to achieve better overlay image effect, when using the picture in picture and IR image modes, the user must set the alignment distance, which is the  approximate distance from the thermal camera to the target in section . In picture in picture / IR image / visible mode, please make sure that the thermal image displayed on  the screen is aligned with the target.

Color palette
Short press central button to enter the menu.

Short press left and right buttons to select . Short press central button to enter menu option. Short press up/down/ left/right buttons to select necessary color pallete.
There are 7 color palettes available. Short press central button to confirm the setting. Short press to return to the previous screen or press the trigger to exit the menu.

Settings
Emissivity
All objects emit thermal energy. The volume of energy depends on the surface temperature and emission degree of the object. The thermal imager measures intensity of  radiation and uses it to calculate the temperature of the object. Objects with different surfaces at the same temperature emit different amount of thermal energy. Most of the  items and materials, for example, painted metals, wood, water, leather, fabric have high emissivity (0.9 and more) and emit more energy than shiny surfaces and unpainted  metals with emission degree less than 0.6. Adjustment of emission value allows the device to take this feature into account and to minimize the measurement error.

Emissivity of some materials

Select “Measurement  parameter” and press central button to confirm. Select “Emissivity” and press central button to activate adjustment. Use up and down buttons to adjust emissivity value and  press central button to confirm.

Ambient temperature
Short press central button to enter the menu. Short press left and right buttons to select Settings – . Short press central button to enter Settings. Select “Measuring parameter”  and press central button to confirm. Select “Ambient temperature” and press central button to activate adjustment. Use up and down buttons to adjust  temperature value and press central button to confirm.

Short press to return to the previous screen or press the trigger to exit the menu.
Distance from device to object of measurement
Short press central button to enter the menu. Short press left and right buttons to select Settings – . Short press central button to enter Settings. Select “Measurement  parameter” and press central button to confirm. Select “Distance” and press central button to activate adjustment. Use up and down buttons to adjust distance to the object of measurement and press central button to confirm.
Short press to return to the previous screen or press the trigger to exit the menu.

Temperature units
Short press central button to enter the menu. Short press left and right buttons to select Settings – . Short press central button to enter Settings. Select “Temperature unit”  and press central button to confirm. Use up and down buttons to select measuring unit (°C / °F / K) and press central button to confirm.
Short press to return to the previous screen or press the trigger to exit the menu.

HI/LO alert
Short press central button to enter the menu. Short press left and right buttons to select Settings – . Short press central button to enter Settings. Select “HI/LO alert” and  press central button to confirm. Use up and down buttons to switch on (“ON”) or switch off (“OFF ”) this function and adjust the value of high temperature limit and the  value of low temperature limit and press central button to confirm.
To switch on/off LED alert, use up and down buttons to select “LED alert” and short press central button to confirm.

Auto save of images
This function allows to save the images in gallery automatically after pressing the trigger or manually save the image or cancel saving.
Short press central button to enter the menu. Short press left and right buttons to select Settings – . Short press central button to enter Settings. Select “Auto save” and press  central button to confirm. Use up and down buttons to select “YES” to activate automatic save or “NO” to save manually and and short press central button to confirm.

Short press to return to the previous screen or press the trigger to exit the menu.
Temperature scale
Short press central button to enter the menu. Short press left and right buttons to select Settings – . Short press central button to enter Settings. Select “Temperature scale”  and press central button to confirm. Use up and down buttons to select either “- 20…150 °C” or “100…550 °C” and short press central button to confirm.

Short press to return to the previous screen or press the trigger to exit the menu.

Date and time
Short press central button to enter the menu. Short press left and right buttons to select Settings – . Short press central button to enter Settings. Select “Date and time” and  press central button to confirm. Use up/down/left/right buttons to adjust the date and time and short press central button to confirm.
Short press to return to the previous screen or press the trigger to exit the menu.

Language
Short press central button to enter the menu. Short press left and right buttons to select Settings – . Short press central button to enter Settings. Select “Language” and press  central button to confirm. Use up and down buttons to select necessary language and short press central button to confirm.
Short press to return to the previous screen or  press the trigger to exit the menu.

Display brightness
Short press central button to enter the menu. Short press left and right buttons to select Settings – . Short press central button to enter Settings. Select “Display brightness”  and press central button to confirm. Use up and down buttons to set brightness: low, medium or high and press central button to confirm.
Short press to return to the previous screen or press the trigger to exit the menu.

Automatic shutdown
Short press central button to enter the menu. Short press left and right buttons to select Settings – . Short press central button to enter Settings. Select “Auto power off” and  press central button to confirm.
Use up and down buttons to set automatic shutdown timer: 5 min, 10 min, 20 min, 0ff and press central button to confirm.
Short press to return to the previous screen or press the trigger to exit the menu.

System setting

Device information
Short press central button to enter the menu. Short press left and right buttons to select Settings – . Short press central button to enter Settings. Select “System setting” and  press central button to confirm. Select “Device information” and press central button to confirm. See the information about device – name, version of software, capacity.
Short press to return to the previous screen or press the trigger to exit the menu.

Format SD card
Short press central button to enter the menu. Short press left and right buttons to select Settings – . Short press central button to enter Settings. Select “System setting” and  press central button to confirm. Select “Format SD card” and press central button to confirm. Select “Yes” to delete everything from SD card. Select “No” to cancel.
Short press to return to the previous screen or press the trigger to exit the menu.

Factory reset
Short press central button to enter the menu. Short press left and right buttons to select Settings – . Short press central button to enter Settings. Select “System setting” and  press central button to confirm. Select “Factory reset” and press central button to confirm. Select “Yes” to reset all previously made settings to the factory settings. Select  “No” to cancel.
Short press to return to the previous screen or press the trigger to exit the menu.

USB mode
Short press central button to enter the menu. Short press left and right buttons to select Settings – . Short press central button to enter Settings. Select “System setting” and  press central button to confirm. Select «USB Mode» and press central button to confirm. Select «USB disk» so that when connected to a PC via a USB cable, you can open  the gallery in the device’s memory and copy images from there. Select «USB camera» so that when connected to a PC via a USB cable, the device can broadcast the image  from the device to PC in real time. To operate this function, please download the software for data analysis from ICAM 3 on the website www.condtrol.com

LED light
Short press to switch on/off LED light.
Non-uniformity correction
This function is used to compensate non-uniformity of the detector pixels or the non-uniformity caused by other optical interference. When the picture effect is poor, the  user can perform shutter correction, which is common in situations where the ambient temperature changes rapidly while making measurements.
In the imaging interface short press to perform a nonuniformity correction.

Image capture
Switch on the device. The device will automatically calibrate within 20 seconds after switching on.
Point the device at the object.
Short press the trigger to capture the image.
The image and parameters of the object get fixed.
In auto save mode (if set in the settings) the image will be saved automatically in the gallery.
In manual mode (if set in the settings) press left and right buttons to select ✔ to save, X to cancel image capture.

View and delete images

Short press to enter the gallery.
Short press left and right buttons to select the image and press central button to open it. Short press left and right buttons to flip through the images.
To see the information about the image or delete it short press central button.
Short press left button and press central button to see the information about the image. Short press to return to previous screen.
Short press right button and press central button to delete the image. By left and right buttons select “Yes” to confirm delete, “No” to cancel delete.
Short press or press the trigger to exit the menu.

Data transfer to PC
Connect the device with the PC or tablet using the USB Type-C cable included in the delivery package. Saved images and videos can be removed / deleted / copied from the  internal memory of the device.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

Attention! This device is an accurate optical electronic device and requires careful handling. If the device is given to somebody for temporary use, be sure to enclose user  manual to it.
It is prohibited to point the device at the sun and other sources of intense radiation (for example, objects whose temperature exceeds 550 ° C). It may cause serious damage  of the sensor.
The manufacturer is not responsible for this type of damage of the sensor.
The actual temperature of the object may differ from the measurement result of the device. The examined surfaces may be potentially dangerous. Measured objects or a  measurement environment may also present a certain risk.
The user must follow the safety rules set by particular industry.
Observation of the following recommendations will extend the life of the device:

• Protect the device from bumps, drops, excessive vibration; do not allow moisture, construction dust, foreign objects get inside the product;
• If moisture gets inside the device, please contact service center;
• Do not store or use the device in high humidity environment for a long period of time;
• Do not store the product in locations where temperature is colder than -20°С. After storage in low temperature conditions and subsequent transfer to a warm room, the  device is heated, causing moisture condense inside the product and damage microcircuits.
• Keep the device away from direct sunlight and avoid longtime exposure to the sun and high temperatures.
• Clean the device with a soft, damp cloth moistened with soapy water. Do not use cleaning solvents or abrasives.

UTILIZATION
Expired tools, accessories and package should be passed for waste recycle. Please send the product to the following address for proper recycle:

Do not throw the product in municipal waste!
According to European directive 2002/96/ЕC expired measuring tools and their components must be collected separately and submitted to environmentally friendly recycle
of wastes.

WARRANTY
All CONDTROL GmbH products go through post-production control and are governed by the following warranty terms. The buyer’s right to claim about defects and general provisions of the current legislation do not expire.

1. CONDTROL GmbH agrees to eliminate all defects in the product, discovered during the warranty period, that represent the defect in material or workmanship in full  volume and at its own expense.
2. The warranty period is 24 months and starts from the date of purchase by the end consumer (see the original supporting document).
3. The warranty doesn’t cover defects resulting from wear and tear or improper use, malfunction of the product caused by failure to observe the instructions of this user  manual, untimely maintenance and service and insufficient care, the use of non-original accessories and spare parts. Modifications in design of the product relieve the  seller from responsibility for warranty works. The warranty does not cover cosmetic damage, that doesn’t hinder normal operation of the product.
4. CONDTROL GmbH reserves the right to decide on replacement or repair of the device.
5. Other claims not mentioned above, are not covered by the warranty.
6. After holding warranty works by CONDTROL GmbH warranty period is not renewed or extended.
7. CONDTROL GmbH is not liable for loss of profit or inconvenience associated with a defect of the device, the rental cost of alternative equipment for the period of repair.

This warranty applies to German law except provision of the United Nations Convention on contracts for the international sale of goods (CISG).
