Smart features like smartphone notifications and programmable settings are also available. Get smartphone notifications, make schedules, turn on and off the lights, adjust settings, and connect to other Ring devices through the Ring app when connected to a Ring Bridge or compatible Echo Device. Per family, only one Ring Bridge is needed. need for the Ring app’s intelligent controls. Approximately 50 Ring Smart Lighting devices, including Motion Sensors, can be supported by a single ring bridge.

FAQs

Who ordered this stuff it was not me?

Alexa ordered it for you. She knows what you want, when you want it.

Can this stay on instead of motion activated?

No. It will always automatically turn off. The maximum time it will stay on is 15 mins until it triggers again. Even if you “manually” turn it on with Alexa.

Are you able to use size “D” batteries or just the rechargeable one included? And will it run off 1 rechargeable pack without the solar panel?

First, no D batteries – the point of the Solar panel is to recharge the rechargeable batteries. Second, yes, it will run off the rechargeable battery without solar, but then you’ll have to remove the battery to recharge it through an outlet (there’s also a second slot for a second rechargeable battery).

which is best battery power or solar power?

The solar option has a rechargeable battery inside the unit. When the light comes on, it uses the battery, then the solar panel recharges it throughout the day. I’ve had two solar units since spring, and haven’t once depleted the batteries – not even close. I’d have to say solar is best, since I don’t have to manually change/charge the battery.

How long will light stay on if I don’t use the bridge and ring app? in other words default light duration when motion detected no bridge used.

Don’t know exactly but it seems like 15 to 20 seconds straight out of the box with no bridge. Works well for a non-hard-wired light, even by itself. Just bought the bridge so now I will see if it makes the light any better. I’m happy with how it works just by itself. No issues at all do far.

The wire of the solar panel to floodlight is not long enough, what can I do?

WOW, that thing is so long I had to tuck most of mine in a rubber band and then use a “U” Nail to hide it. You could move your Flood light closer to the Solar Panel as it does have a lot of flexibility to the Light itself, it angels in several directions. Or at least mine does.

I need a solar power supply for my doorbell and two batteries. but I get payed on Friday. of this week . can I get it in my cart until I get payed.

No camera.

Can I turn this off with the ring app without the bridge? we have movie nights on the garage door, so I want to be able to turn this off for 2-3 hours.

No, the Ring bridge is what connects your WIFI to Ring’s proprietary lighting protocol. Instead, just turn the lights off at the switch before starting your movie, then flip the switch on afterward.

Does anyone know how long this light will shine at night on a single battery? Question asked 4 times no answer yet.

I have had mine for almost a month and still going on original batteries. I just checked and my batteries are now at 91%.

Does this light also provide video?

No, this is just a solar motion detection flood light that can send alerts or trigger other Ring devices.

Is the floodlight able to connect to low voltage wiring as opposed to solar?

I do not know for sure. I am aware that the doorbell 2 can be connected to the homes doorbell transformer to stay charged. Mine is set up that way and I have never charged it. but I’m not sure if a low voltage line would work. It’s an interesting question to ask Ring through their website.

How long will this continuously illuminate? Example party in the backyard.

The Ring Smart Lighting Solar Floodlight is a solar-powered, weather-resistant light that illuminates when motion is detected, or when manually turned on via the Ring app. The Ring Solar Floodlight also comes with a separate solar panel. You can adjust the brightness of the lights, motion sensitivity, and the amount of time the light stays on when motion is detected.

what is the length of wire that connects solar panel with ring floodlight?

It is quite long, I haven’t measured it but I’d say at least 6 feet of cord.

Can this be installed over an existing electrical box for a hard-wired floodlight?

No, you would need to purchase the hard-wired version. This has a double battery insert, and solar input for the solar panel connection, which was my intent.

Anyone else have trouble getting motion detector to work?

Yes, I have been having trouble with the motion sensors to work. I unplugged and plugged the Bridge for the system and that helps. But I have to so that once a week.
