Introduction

It comes with a pathlight with a diameter of 4.13 inches and a height of 16.93 inches that, when motion is sensed, flashes 80 Lumens of brightness on paths and other areas. To receive notifications, change settings, and connect to other Ring devices all from the Ring app, add this to any Ring Smart Lighting Starter Kit with Ring Bridge. You can link this light with other Ring Smart Lights, Ring doorbells or cameras, and select Alexa-enabled devices to build a fully integrated home security system using the Echo (4th Gen), Echo Show 10 (3rd Gen), or Ring Bridge. With a wire-free design, Pathlight installs quickly and illuminates your sidewalk, doorway, or pathway. Need for a bridge.

FAQs

These seem like they are easy to get stolen. Does Ring replace them if stolen like for the doorbells?****

When Ring released their doorbell, one of their famous guarantees was that they would replace it if it was stolen. Now that Ring has expanded to other devices that are even easier to have stolen (like these lights).

Is the only way to power these are they D batteries? I would prefer low voltage wiring option if available.****

Seems strange they didn’t launch with a “cartridge” the size of 4D cell batteries with 12V (AC/DC) > 6V mini power supply integrated with a few fly leads coming out of it to immediately retrofit into existing low voltage landscape lighting setups.

Can you setup a schedule to turn on the lights at a certain time and disable the motion sensors?****

The lights by default are dimmed if enabling dawn to dusk, but that can be disabled. Other than dawn to dusk, there is no apparent scheduling. Note that keeping the lights for longer durations than during motion events will eat into your battery life VERY quickly. Estimates for one-year battery life are based on about 8-10 lights-on events per evening over one year. Duration of each lights-on event is listed as 20 seconds, but the shortest event duration setting I found in the app is for 30 seconds after motion is detected. Can be longer, but doing so again cuts into the battery life.

Batteries included?****

Batteries are not included. I recommend using rechargeable batteries because during winter (increased dark hours and increased cold) the batteries only last a couple months. I have 8 of these lights and I keep two extra sets of batteries charged up and ready. Overall, I love the lights and how much control I have over them–these are actually “smart” lights with a lot of user control. But you pay a premium for the light and batteries.

What’s the ring/amazon’s action on battery life gimmick? do they replace or refund? or provide free rechargeable batteries?****

About a year they say, depends on the usage. You are responsible for D batteries

How do I get a package delivered to a locker?****

When you purchase from Amazon it will ask you do you want your items delivered to a locker you have to choose the location they will give you a code when you have a certain amount of time to pick it up from the locker in the location that you choose.

Who many pathway lights do you get****

It depends on the bundle you get I think the four pack is a great wonderful 127.99. But it depends on how many lights you need.

Batteries are the key issue with this product: Why did Ring not use the same rechargeable $29.00 battery that is in the cameras?****

Unfortunately, ring does provide batteries for the pathway lights they are $29.99 they can only be purchased from Ring website.

Can you set a schedule for these? They don’t appear as an option in the ring app. Only the solar powered ones show up.****

You can go into your device settings and if you so choose, you can SNOOZE The lights (for like during daytime).

Does this work with Apple HomeKit?****

Not sure.

What size light bulb does this take?****

The light source appears to be a small led cell with a decorative bulb like cover. It does not appear to be serviceable.

Are they actual cameras?****

They are not cameras, they are lights.

I already have an echo and 3 ring doorbells. Do I still need the bridge?****

Yes, you do. You will be very pleased with this system.

Is there a way to turn these on and not have them turn back off after the motion timer resets when I’m outside?****

I believe there is an option, I put them away for the Winter.

Will this work with the ring security system bridge or do I need another bridge? is there any advantage to running 2 bridges?****

It should work with your Ring bridge, there is no advantage I know of for running 2 bridges. Perhaps, however, there is a finite number of items that 1 bridge can control. In that case, you might want 2 bridges,
