  • A. Lutron systems are intended for use with only Lutron brackets, controls, and power supplies.
  • B. Codes: Install in accordance with all local and national electrical codes.
  • C. Environment: Ambient operating temperature: 32 °F – 104 °F (0 °C – 40 °C), 0 – 90% humidity, non-condensing. Indoor use only.
  • D. The shade system, including the pocket, must be mounted to blocking or other suitable structural material. It is the responsibility of the installer to choose and install fasteners that are appropriate for the mounting surface such that each shade bracket can support a load of 250 lbs (113.4 kg).
  • E. Maintain sufficient clearance between the moving shade and any object.
  • F. Mount fixed controls and keep remote controls out of reach of children.
  • G. DO NOT operate shades if there are visible signs of wear or damage.

CAUTION: SAFETY NOTICE – DO NOT SUBSTITUTE PARTS. Some Roller 64 (non- WIDR) parts may appear to be a correct fit in WIDR systems, but using non-WIDR Roller 64 parts in a Roller 64 WIDR installation will result in an unsafe condition.

Pre-drill the Pocket for Cable Entry
Pre-drill the pocket to allow clearance for the wires without interfering with the bracket location. See below for suggested hole locations.

  • Cable should enter at the drive side of the system, and be located to avoid interference with shade operation.

  • The hole in the pocket must be large enough to allow adjustment during pocket installation without pinching the wire.

  • Ceiling entry:
11⁄2 in (38 mm) from pocket end; 1⁄2 in (13 mm) from rear wall

  • Rear wall entry:
11⁄2 in (38 mm) from pocket end; 1⁄2 in (13 mm) from ceiling

  • Jamb entry:
11⁄2 in (38 mm) from ceiling; 1⁄2 in (13 mm) from rear wall

Mount the Pocket

IMPORTANT: This procedure must be performed by 2 people, with one person supporting each end of the pocket. If the mounting surface cannot be reached when standing on the floor, 2 ladders or lifts may also be required. It is recommended that all steps are reviewed by both installers before proceeding.
Fasten the pocket to the mounting surface according to the following guidelines:

NOTE: It is the responsibility of the installer to select and install mounting fasteners that are appropriate for the mounting surface and capable of supporting the components and operating load of the shade system.

IMPORTANT: The mounted pocket must be level and un-twisted, with front and back walls plumb. Shimming may be necessary to compensate for an irregular mounting surface. Check periodically throughout the installation process to verify the pocket ceiling is level and its walls are plumb all along the pocket’s length.
When mounting the pocket between two jambs or walls, allow 1⁄8 in (3 mm) clearance on each end to provide space for thermal expansion of the pocket. Failure to do so may result in pocket buckling.LUTRON-Sivoia-Roller-64-WIDR-

A. Install fasteners in pairs* through the ceiling of the pocket into a solid structural member.

  1. Leave a minimum 3 in (76 mm) clearance at each end of the pocket, and at other shade bracket locations if applicable, to avoid interfering with shade bracket installation.
  2. Install a pair of fasteners every 24 in (610 mm) along the pocket length.
  3. Locate fasteners 1 in (25 mm) maximum from the front and rear walls of the pocket.

* IMPORTANT: Locate mounting screws in pairs only as shown. This will keep the pocket walls plumb and prevent twisting.
DO NOT arrange the fasteners in a single row or zig-zag pattern.LUTRON-

Mark the Shade Bracket Locations

Mark the location of the shade brackets in the mounted pocket, at the bracket- to-bracket distance, so that they are centered over the window.

  • Bracket-to-bracket distance = tube width + 1 1⁄2 in (38 mm).
  • DO NOT use the pocket or the uninstalled shade to determine the bracket location. ALWAYS use the bracket-to-bracket distance to determine bracket location. There is an idler spring that compresses* during shade installation, allowing the shade to fit inside the bracket-to-bracket distance.
  • IMPORTANT: At the correct bracket-to-bracket distance, idler compression will be approximately 50% of its total travel.
    • Allow ample clearance to prevent the fabric from rubbing against the trim, window, top treatment, or any object.LUTRON-Sivoia-Roller-64-WIDR-Pocket-Mount-FIG 8

Install the Shade Brackets

Using fasteners that are appropriate for the mounting surface,* install the shade brackets at the marks made in the previous section,
Use the aligning ribs on the pocket ceiling to center the bracket and fasten using four (4) screws.

IMPORTANT: You must install 4 screws per bracket.LUTRON-Sivoia-

  • The shade brackets are capable of supporting an operating load of 250 lb (113.4 kg).
It is the responsibility of the installer to ensure the mounting surface and underlying structure are capable of supporting the shade system and its operating load.
The self-drilling mounting screws provided are suitable for mounting through the brackets and pocket ceiling, into solid wood structural members, but may not be effective for mounting into other substrates. It is the responsibility of the installer to select and install fasteners that are appropriate for the substrate, and capable of supporting the shade system and its operating load. Pre-drill if necessary, ensuring pilot holes are of appropriate size for the fasteners used.

Mount the Shade

Drive Wires and Controls
At the drive end, turn the square mounting yoke so that the drive control buttons face downward, allowing access to them from below the pocket. Route the EDU power and control cables through one of the notches facing the front (room side) or rear (window side) as shown.LUTRON-Sivoia-Roller-64-WIDR-

Hang the Shade

The square mounting yoke at each end of the shade is designed to fit over the mounting tabs on the shade of the yoke will engage the shade brackets. Each side features a notch. The top and bottom bracket mounting tabs, with the lower notch around the retaining screw.

A. Align the idler mounting yoke with the shade bracket mounting tabs, and fit the yoke around the tabs and behind the head of the retaining screw as shown .LUTRON-Sivoia-Roller-64-WIDR-Pocket-Mount-FIG 11

Depress the spring-loaded idler by pressing the shade toward the idler bracket, then fit the drive-end mounting yoke over the tabs, and behind the head of the
retaining screw, on the drive end shade bracket.
IMPORTANT: Ensure the EDU wires are routed properly through the notch chosen in step 5.1. and are not pinched.LUTRON-Sivoia-Roller-64-WIDR-Pocket-

Check and Secure the Shade

Shades are sized according to the bracket-to-bracket distance indicated on the original order so that the spring loaded idler will be compressed to 50% of its total travel when both ends of the shade are engaged in the brackets. This ensures safe mounting and smooth, quiet operation. After mounting the shade according to the steps in Section 5, verify the idler is compressed to 50% of its total travel by measuring the idler-end light gap as described in Step A below.

  • A. With the shade in the brackets, measure and verify that the idler-end light gap, measured from the end of the shade tube to the outer face of the Idler Bracket, is 3/4 in (19 mm), ± 1⁄8 in (3 mm). Make bracket position adjustments to correct, if necessary.
  • B. Verify that the installed shade system is level and centered on the window opening. Make bracket position adjustments to correct, if necessary.
  • C. Using the hand screwdriver only, tighten the retaining screw at each end of the shade to secure it. DO NOT overtightenLUTRON-Sivoia-Roller-64-WIDR-Pocket-Mount-FIG 14

Wiring and Power-Up

  • A. Follow the instructions in the enclosed document: Sivoia QS Basic Wiring and Setup; P/N 045520 to complete the shade wiring and set limits.
  • B. Run the shade up and down several times and verify that no object interferes with normal shade movement. Make additional adjustments as necessary to correct any problems discovered

Install the Optional Pocket Flap (if applicable

Hang the pocket flap on the flap hanger as shown. Verify the flap does not contact the fabric or interfere with shade movement.

NOTE: For tall shades with large fabric roll diameter, lowering the shade will make it easier to install the pocket flap.LUTRON-Sivoia-Roller-64-WIDR-
Pocket-Mount-FIG 15 IMPORTANT: Ensure the upper limit is set so that the bottom bar is not drawn up into the pocket or sub- brackets. Bottom bar(s) must stay below the dotted line as shown.
