Mode use
**Attention: iron only on surfaces resistant to heat and on surfaces that
allow the passage of steam, such as ironing boards specific for this type of
ironing.
Note: the iron is designed to use tap water, however, if the water is very
hard, it is advisable to use a mixture of distilled water and tap water.**
Unscrew the safety cap and fill the tank with about 0.75 litres of water with
the help of the funnel and make sure it does not overflow.
Screw the cap back and make sure it is firmly closed, otherwise it is possible
to run risky steam leaks around the cap. Plug the power cord into a power
outlet.
Turn on the iron and the boiler using the appropriate switches.
Once finished ironing, wait for the entire ironing system (iron and boiler) to
cool down and drain the water left in the tank.
Temperature setting Always consult the washing and ironing label inside the
items to be ironed.
The number of dots shown in the adjustable iron thermostat indicate the
temperature from the lowest (•) to the highest (•••).
If you do not know the type of fabric to be ironed, it is advisable to iron
part of it, normally not visible when the item is worn, starting from the
minimum temperature, then finding the most suitable temperature. It may happen
that the garment becomes shining, in this case it is necessary to suspend the
ironing in order not to ruin it and to iron the fabric on reverse.
Attention: pay close attention to the symbol : the fabric (garment) must not be ironed.
Steam ironing
Note: the steam indicator light may, from time to time, turn on and off
during use of the boiler. This is completely normal and indicates that the
machine is maintaining a correct and constant pressure. Connect the electric
cable to the sock et.
Set the iron temperature to maximum. Switch on both switches (iron and
boiler). Wait for the “steam ready” light to come on. Press the “steam shot”
button on the iron: a shot of steam will come out of the holes in the plate,
the intensity of which can be adjusted using the special knob. By pressing the
steam button and moving back the lever located in the centre of the same, you
can lock the continuous steam button, if you want to iron continuously with
the steam jet. To unlock, push the lever slightly forward. (Fig.B)
Note: in the absence of water it will not be possible to generate steam, it
will be necessary to recharge the tank as indicated in the specific
paragraph.
It is recommended to refill the tank when it is completely cooled. In any
case, we recommend carefully pouring only small amounts of water at a time to
avoid the risk of it escaping violently if the tank is still too hot. During
the initial operation of the iron and until the temperature has stabilized,
some drops of water mixed with steam may escape from the plate. It is
therefore advisable to direct the first jets onto an old cloth until the steam
is uniform and stable.
Dry ironing **
**
Connect the cable to the power outlet, turn on only the iron switch. Adjust
the iron temperature by turning the thermostat knob to the desired level.
When the thermostat light switch off, the set temperature has been reached and
the iron is ready for dry use.
Safety cap The appliance is equipped with a safety cap that prevents children
from opening the tank which, in the presence of residual pressure inside it,
would be very dangerous. This is an important and indispensable safety device
which, together with a correct tank refilling procedure, will make the use of
the iron and boiler safer.
Filling the tank
When the water in the tank is finished (no more steam comes out), refill as follows: Position the knob on the maximum steam intensity. Press the “steam shot” button so that the residual steam in the tank comes out completely. Completely switch off the ironing unit (iron and boiler) and disconnect the plug from the socket. Press and at the same time unscrew the cap of the tank and wait a few moments for the tank temperature to decrease. Pour 0.75L of water into the tank through the use of the funnel. Screw the cap back and make sure to close it completely. Turn the iron and boiler on again.
Cleaning
Before proceeding with any maintenance operation, always make sure that the appliance is disconnected from the mains and completely cooled. Internal tank cleaning You can use normal tap water. However, since the water naturally contains limestone which causes scale in the tank, to clean it we recommend the use of a solution of water and vinegar (75% water + 25% vinegar), to be left in the tank for a few hours and then remove it. External cleaning of the appliance Use a damp cloth to clean the housing of the appliance. Do not use solvents or detergents to avoid damaging the body of the appliance.
