Product Information

The TASKVAC 2 is an upright vacuum designed for commercial use. It is equipped with a grounding plug for safety and operates on a nominal 120-volt circuit. The vacuum comes with various attachments and features to ensure effective cleaning on different surfaces and areas.

Grounding Instructions

This appliance must be properly grounded to reduce the risk of electric shock. It comes with a cord having an equipment-grounding conductor and grounding plug. Insert the plug into an appropriate outlet that is properly installed and grounded according to local

Assembly Instructions

  1. Push the handle into the body of the vacuum until it clicks into place.
  2. Insert the hose into the hose port until it clicks and secures.

Operation

To turn the vacuum on or off, press the Power Button. To maneuver the vacuum, step on the handle release pedal and lean the handle back.

Carpet Height Adjustment

If you need to adjust the carpet height, refer to the user manual for specific instructions. Remember to unplug the vacuum before servicing to avoid injury from moving parts.

Using Hose and Attachments

  1. Make sure the vacuum is upright and press the hose release button to pull out the hose end.
  2. Remove the hose and attach the desired accessory. The Extension Wand can be added for additional reach.

Stair Cleaning

When cleaning stairs, exercise extra caution to prevent personal injury or damage. Always place the cleaner at the bottom of the stairs or on the floor, avoiding placing it on stairs or furniture. Ensure the handle is in the upright position when using tools.

Note:

Prior to vacuuming, remove large debris from the area to reduce the chance of system clogs. For cord storage, wrap the power cord around the cord hooks provided. Do not add lubricant to motor bearings as they are already adequately lubricated for their
lifetime.

  • Fully assemble before operating.

  • Operate cleaner only at voltage specified on data plate on back of cleaner.

  • Do not leave product when plugged in. Unplug from outlet when not in use and before servicing.

  • Do not use product with damaged cord or plug. If product is not working as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, call customer service at

  • Do not pull or carry by cord, use cord as a handle, close a door on cord, or pull cord around sharp edges or corners. Do not run appliance over cord. Keep cord away from heated surfaces.

  • Do not unplug by pulling on cord. To unplug, grasp the plug, not the cord.

  • Do not handle plug or appliance with wet hands. Do not put any object into openings.

  • Do not use with any opening blocked; keep free of dust,lint, hair, and anything that may reduce air flow.

  • Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and all parts of body away from openings and moving parts.

  • Turn off all controls before unplugging.

  • Use extra care when cleaning on stairs. To avoid personal injury or damage, and to prevent the cleaner from falling, always place cleaner at bottom of stairs or on floor. Do not place cleaner on stairs or furniture, as it may result in injury or damage.

  • Do not use to pick up flammable or combustible liquids, such as gasoline, or fine wood sandings, or use in areas where they may be present.

  • Unplug before connecting Powered Hand Tool. Do not pick up anything that is burning or smoking, such as cigarettes, matches, or hot ashes.

  • Do not use without Filter Bag and/or Filters in place.

CAUTION: TO REDUCE THE RISK OF DAMAGE:

  • Avoid picking up hard, sharp objects with this product, as they may cause damage
  • Store appropriately indoors in a dry place. Do not expose machine to freezing temperatures.
  • Brush roll continues to turn while product is turned on and handle is in upright position. To avoid damage to carpet, rugs, and flooring, avoid tipping cleaner or setting it on furniture, fringed area rugs, or carpeted stairs during tool use.
  • Do not use sharp objects to clean out hose as they can cause damage.
  • With brush roll on, do not allow cleaner to sit in one location for an extended period of time, as damage to floor can result.

GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS

This appliance must be grounded. If it should malfunction or breakdown, grounding provides a path of least resistance for electric current to reduce the risk of electric shock. This appliance is equipped with a cord having an equipment-grounding conductor (C) and grounding plug (A). The plug must be inserted into an appropriate outlet (B) that is properly installed and grounded in accordance with all local codes and ordinances.

WARNING: IMPROPER CONNECTION
OF THE EQUIPMENT-GROUNDING CONDUCTOR CAN RESULT IN THE RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK. CHECK WITH A QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN OR SERVICE PERSON IF YOU ARE IN DOUBT AS TO WHETHER THE OUTLET IS PROPERLY GROUNDED. DO NOT MODIFY THE PLUG PROVIDED WITH THE APPLIANCE – IF IT WILL NOT FIT THE OUTLET, HAVE A PROPER OUTLET INSTALLED BY A QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN.

This appliance is for use on a nominal 120-volt circuit and has a grounding plug that looks like the plug (A) illustrated in Fig. 1.
A temporary adapter (D) may be used to connect this plug to a 2-pole receptacle (E) if a properly grounded outlet is not available (Fig. 2). The temporary adapter should be used only until a properly grounded outlet (B) can be installed by a qualified electrician (Fig. 1). The green colored rigid ear, lug, or the like (F) extending from the adapter must be connected to a permanent ground (G) such as a properly grounded outlet box cover (Fig. 2). Whenever the adapter is used, it must be held in place by a metal screw.
NOTE: In Canada, the use of a temporary adapter is not permitted by the Canadian Electrical Code.

ASSEMBLY

Fully assemble product prior to use.

  1. Push the handle into the body of the vacuum until it clicks into place.

  2. nsert hose into hose port. It will click when secured.

OPERATION

CAUTION : Not to be used for grooming a pet.

  1. Press the Power Button to turn ON/OFF.

  2. Step on handle release pedal and lean handle back.

CARPET HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT

  1. To adjust height setting, PUSH DOWN and TURN knob desired height setting.
    For maximum cleaning performance, the following carpet height settings are recommended:
    Lowest setting (1): for bare floors
    Low setting (2): for all types of carpet
    • Higher settings: for very deep pile carpet, where easier pushing effort is desired, while maintaining good cleaning performance. IMPORTANT: If the vacuum is difficult to push, push down and turn knob to the next higher setting.

USING HOSE AND ATTACHMENTS

CAUTION: To reduce the risk of injury from moving parts, unplug before servicing.

  1. Make sure the vacuum is upright and press the hose release button and pull hose end out.

  2. Remove hose and attach the desired accessory. The Extension Wand can be added for additional reach.

STAIR CLEANING

CAUTION: Use extra care when cleaning on stairs. To avoid personal injury or damage, and to prevent the cleaner from falling, always place cleaner at the bottom of the stairs or on the floor. Do not place cleaner on stairs or furniture, as it may result in injury or damage. When using tools, always ensure handle is in the upright position.

  1. Lift the vacuum by the stair cleaning handle and position it on the stairs, cleaning forward to back. Never leave the vacuum on the stairs unattended or not when cleaning

NOTE: To reduce the chance of system clogs be sure to clean up large debris from the area before vacuuming.
CORD STORAGE: Wrap the power cord around the cord hooks for convenient storage. Attach the plug end to the cord.
LUBRICATION: The motor is equipped with bearings which contain sufficient lubrication for their lifetime. The addition of lubricant could cause damage. Do not add lubricant to motor bearings.

MAINTENANCE

WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury, unplug before cleaning or servicing.

This product contains no serviceable parts.
If appliance is not working as it should, has been dropped, damaged, left outdoors, or dropped into water, call customer service at 1-888-768-2014 prior to continuing use.

BAG CHECK INDICATOR

  1. The bag check indicator will begin to show red as the filter bags fills with dirt. There are three conditions that will cause the indicator to become completely red.

  2. If the bag is full, change the bag.

  3. If very fine materials have been picked up, clogging the bag pores; change the bag.

  4.  If there is a blockage in the nozzle, hose, tools or at the bag opening; remove the blockage.

CHANGING THE FILTER BAG PART # AH10040

  1. To change the filter bag, while pushing the door release button, pull the handle up and out.

  2. Place bag door over trash bin and push lever to drop filter bag into trash bin.

  3. Slide the new filter bag’s cardboard sleeve into the bag holder so the lever secures it.

  4. Replace the door by inserting the bottom first, then swing the top of the bag door in so it latches.
    NOTE: Make sure the filter bag is tucked securely between the tabs on the bag door.
    IMPORTANT: Use only genuine HOOVER® bags with your vacuum.

CAUTION : Very fine materials, such as face powder or cornstarch, may seal the filter bag and may cause it to burst even though it is partially full of dirt. When the cleaner is used to remove material of this nature, change filter bag often.

CLEANING THE EXHAUST FILTER PART # 902418001

  1. With door and filter bag removed, remove the exhaust filter by pulling tab on filter holder and swinging it outward.

  2. Lift the grill out and pull to remove the secondary filter

  1. Rinse filters with water only until the filter is clean and the water runs through clear. Gently squeeze the filter to remove excess water.

  2. Allow filters to air dry for at least 24 hours.
    IMPORTANT: The filters must be completely dry before replacing it. This may take between 24 and 48 hours.

  3. Replace filters.
    CAUTION: To reduce the risk of injury from moving parts, unplug before servicing.

BELT MAINTENANCE

  1. Remove the 6 screws to remove the nozzle guard.

  2. Pull the brushroll up and out from the vacuum belt.
    NOTE: From here you can install a new Brushroll.

  3. Cut off tangled hair and wipe away any debris.

  4. To replace the brushroll, loop the belt around the brush roll and push the roll back into place. Replace the nozzle guard and six screws.

TIP: Rotate brushroll manually to ensure the belt is properly installed. Check for obstructions in the brush roll area and remove any obstructions. When obstructions are cleared, resume cleaning as normal.

THERMAL PROTECTION

A thermal protector has been designed into your cleaner to protect it from overheating. When the thermal protector activates the cleaner will stop running.

If this happens proceed as follows:

  1. Turn cleaner OFF and unplug it from the electrical outlet.
  2. Replace Filter Bag.
  3. Inspect and remove blockage along the dirt path. This blockage may occur at the: nozzle inlet, hose connector, hose, bag opening inlet, secondary filter and final filter.
  4. When cleaner is unplugged and motor cools for 30 minutes, the thermal protector will deactivate and cleaning may continue.
    If the thermal protector continues to activate after following the above steps, your cleaner needs servicing.

TROUBLESHOOTING

WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury, unplug vacuum before servicing. Do not operate cleaner without either the secondary or final filter in place.

WARRANTY

1 YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
Failure to register the product does not diminish product warranty rights.
If this product is not as warranted, contact TTI Floor Care North America Customer Service at 1-888-768-2014. Please have available the proof of purchase and model number for the warranted product.

WHAT THIS WARRANTY COVERS: When used and maintained in normal Commercial use and in accordance with the Owner’s Guide, your Hoover® Commercial vacuum cleaner is warranted against original defects in material and workmanship for 1 Year from date of purchase (the “Warranty Period”). During the Warranty Period, Hoover Commercial will provide labor and parts, at no cost to you, to correct any such defect in your vacuum cleaner that was purchased in the United States, at a U.S. Military Exchange, or in Canada. Hoover Commercial also reserves the right to provide you with a replacement product(s) or refund, in Hoover Commercial’s discretion, in order to satisfy the terms of this warranty.

HOW TO MAKE A WARRANTY CLAIM: If this product is not as warranted, take or send the product to a Hoover Commercial Authorized Warranty Service Dealer along with proof of purchase which includes the date of purchase (for example, a receipt or a bill of sale). For additional assistance or information concerning this Warranty or the availability of warranty service outlets, phone 1-888-768-2014, Mon-Fri 8am-4pm EST.

WHAT THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER: Certain parts for your Hoover® Commercial product receive normal wear in the ordinary course of use. On your vacuum cleaner these items include the motor, nozzle, brush roll, filters and filter bag. Normal use wear and tear on these parts are not covered by this Warranty. This Warranty also does not cover: improper maintenance of the product, damage due to misuse, acts of God, nature, vandalism or other acts beyond the control of Hoover Commercial, owner’s acts or omissions, use outside the country in which the product was initially purchased, resale of the product by the original owner, defects or damages caused by repair, or alteration by anyone other than an Authorized Hoover Commercial Warranty Service Dealer. Hoover Commercial reserves the right to inspect any alleged defective product and make final decisions on any warranty claim. This warranty does not cover pick up, delivery, transportation or house calls. However, if you mail your product to a Hoover® Commercial Authorized Warranty Service Dealer for warranty service, cost of shipping will be paid one way.

OTHER IMPORTANT TERMS: This Warranty is not transferable and may not be assigned. This Warranty shall be governed and construed under the laws of the state of North Carolina. The Warranty Period will not be extended by any replacement or repair performed under this Warranty. THIS WARRANTY IS THE EXCLUSIVE WARRANTY AND REMEDY PROVIDED BY HOOVER COMMERCIAL. ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE DISCLAIMED. IN NO EVENT WILL HOOVER BE LIABLE FOR ANY SPECIAL, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY KIND OR NATURE TO OWNER OR ANY PARTY CLAIMING THROUGH OWNER, WHETHER BASED IN CONTRACT, NEGLIGENCE, TORT OR STRICT PRODUCTS LIABILITY OR ARISING FROM ANY CAUSE WHATSOEVER. Some states do not allow the exclusion of consequential damages, so the above exclusion may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific rights; you may also have others that vary from state to state.
