LAKE LAND DUAL LAYER DIGITAL KITCHEN SCALE

A useful scale with dual layers to weight everything from 1g to 15kg, with an easy-to read mirror coated display. Please take a few moments to read these instructions before using the scale for the first time, and keep them in a safe place for future reference.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Carefully read all the instructions before using the scales and keep in a safe place for future reference. Always follow these safety precautions when using the scales to avoid personal injury or damage to the appliance. These scales should be used only as described in this instruction book.
- This scale is for household use only. It is not suitable for commercial or professional use. The scale must only be used for its intended purpose of weighing food.
- Place the scale on a solid, level surface.
- Treat the scale with care; it is a precision instrument. Do not drop it.
- Take care not to spill water or any liquid on the scale as this may damage the electronics. Never immerse the scale in water and do not use scourers or chemical/abrasive cleaners.
- Never attempt to take the scale apart or open it up. If the scale shows any sign of damage or is working incorrectly, call the helpline on 015394 88100 or info@lakeland.co.uk to arrange a repair by an authorised repairer, or a replacement.
Never try to repair the scale yourself.
BEFORE USING YOUR SCALE FOR THE FIRST TIME
- Carefully unpack the scale and remove any packaging. Wipe the scale with a slightly damp cloth, then dry.Green White
USING YOUR SCALE
- Begin by placing the scale on a hard, level surface to ensure accurate weighing.
BASE LAYER SCALE
**TURNING ON THE BASE LAYER MODE
**

Press and hold 0.05g/MODE to turn on the base layer scale.

The weight symbol will turn green.
TOP LAYER SCALE
**TURNING ON THE TOP LAYER MODE
**

Press and hold 1g/TARE to turn on the top layer scale.

The weight symbol will turn white
TRANSFERRING FROM BASE LAYER SCALE TO TOP LAYER SCALE
- When the scale is on base layer scale function, long press 0.05g/MODE for 2 seconds to transfer to the top layer scale.
- As the scale transfers to the other layer ‘8’ will cycle across the screen.
CHANGING UNITS
- Press 0.05g/MODE to change unit g/oz/ml.
TRANSFERRING FROM TOP LAYER SCALE TO BASE LAYER SCALE
- When the scale is on top layer scale function, long press 0.05g/MODE for 2 seconds to transfer to the base layer scale.
- As the scale transfers to the other layer ‘8’ will cycle across the screen.
TURNING OFF YOUR DUAL LAYER DIGITAL KITCHEN SCALE
- The scale will be auto-off after approximate 120 seconds without operation.
- To manually switch off the scale, press and hold 1g/TARE.
TARE FUNCTION
The scale has a helpful add-and-weigh feature, so that several ingredients can be weighed in the same bowl, saving time and washing-up. The weight display can be reset to zero after each item is weighed.

Place your bowl on the scale. The LCD display will show the weight of the bowl.

Touch the ‘TARE’ function to clear the weight of the bowl (reset to ‘0’). Put the food into the bowl, the LCD display will show the food weight only. Repeat this function to weigh other ingredients in the same bowl.

When the bowl is removed from the scale, the screen will display a negative value. Touch the ‘TARE’ function again and after 2 seconds the display will show a zero value.
HOLD FUNCTION
This function will help the user to read the result when weighing a big object
which would cover the LED.
NOTE: Hold function only works on the top layer scale.
- Before putting your bowl/ingredient on the scale, long press both the TARE and MODE icons for 2 seconds to turn on the HOLD function, the LED will show ‘H-ON’.
- Put your bowl/ingredient on the scale, this will lock the weight on LED after a beep sound, the result will remain on the LED unless you add another weight on that is more than 5g, then the new weight will lock on the LED after a beep sound.
- Press TARE to clear the weight of the bowl (reset to zero), then put the food into the container, the LED display will show the weight of food only.
- To turn off HOLD function, long press both the TARE and MODE icons for 2 seconds again until H-OFF be shown.
ERROR FUNCTIONS

The batteries are getting low.
-
When the scale is overloaded (top layer platform when more than 15kg, base layer platform when more than 1kg).
-
The scale is not stable, please put it on hard and flat table and restart.
-
There is too much weight on the scale before turning on, please remove the weight and restart.
-
The sensor has been damaged due to improper use.
-
Weight lock function has been turned on, the weighing result will be frozen even if you remove the object.
NOTE : Hold function only works on the top layer scale. -
Weight lock function has been turn off.

It means the top layer platform scale is on but without the top layer platform lid on it, please put the platform lid on. Continued use of top layer platform scale without lid would damage the base layer platform scale sensor.
CARE AND CLEANING
To clean the scale, wipe it with a slightly damp cloth, then buff with a soft,
dry cloth.
Never immerse the scale in water or liquid, and do not use chemical/abrasive
cleaners or scourers as they will damage the finish.
Caution : Never attempt to take the scale apart or open it up.
BATTERY CHANGING INSTRUCTIONS

Open the battery cover.
-
Install 3 x AAA (1.5V) batteries as shown.
-
After installing the batteries, put the battery back cover on, until it clicks into place.

Please be aware that the incorrect polarity will cause the permanent impact on the electronic parts.

If the product stops working or the LCD display shows the battery may need replacing. When replacing the battery ensure the product is switched off. To switch off press the ‘TARE’ button for 2 seconds.

On the underneath of the scale, slide open the battery compartment.
-
Replace the 3 x AAA (1.5V.) battered with correct polarity (+/-).

Replace compartment cover.
-
Safely dispose of used battery immediately, in a suitable recycling facility.
BATTERY SAFETY
Battery Warning: KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
- Keep new and used batteries away from children.
- If the battery compartment (if applicable) does not close securely, stop using the product and keep it away from children.
- Batteries are to be inserted with the correct polarity (+/-).
- Batteries should be replaced by an adult.
- Never dispose of batteries in fire as this may cause them to explode or attempt to disassemble the batteries.
- Do not mix old and new batteries (replace all batteries at the same time).
- Do not mix Alkaline, standard Carbon Zinc or rechargeable batteries.
- Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended are to be used.
- Do not charge non-rechargeable batteries.
- Always remove exhausted or dead batteries from the product.
- Remove batteries from the product, if not going to be used for a long time.
- Ensure the battery compartment is secure.
- Batteries are harmful if swallowed.
- If you think batteries might have been swallowed or placed inside any part of the body, seek immediate medical attention.
- Symptoms of battery ingestion are difficult to diagnose. Examples include: Cough, gag or drool a lot, appear to have an upset stomach, be sick, point to their throat or tummy, have a pain in their tummy, chest or throat, be tired or lethargic, be quieter or more clingy than usual, lose their appetite, not want to eat solid food or unable to eat solid food.
- Symptoms can vary and also may fluctuate i.e., pain increasing then subsiding.
- One thing specific to button battery ingestion is vomiting fresh (bright red) blood.
If this is the case, then seek immediate medical help.
