SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

Carefully read all the instructions before using the appliance and keep in a safe place for future reference. Always follow these safety precautions when using the appliance to avoid personal injury or damage to the appliance. This appliance should be used only as described in this instruction book.

  • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be done by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
  • Make sure your electricity supply matches the voltage shown on the appliance.
  • Ensure all packaging materials and any promotional labels or stickers are removed from the appliance before the first use.

  • Unplug from the mains when not in use and before cleaning. To disconnect, turn the socket to “off” and remove the plug from the mains socket.
  • Do not use any accessories or attachments with this appliance other than those recommended by Lakeland.
  • To protect against fire, electric shock or personal injury, do not immerse cord, plug or lid in water or other liquids.
  • Do not leave the lead hanging over the edge of a bed, kitchen table or worktop, where it may be pulled by children, or tripped over.
  • For indoor use only and not in bathrooms.

  • This appliance should be used for vacuuming as described within the instructions.
  • Always ensure that your hands are dry before removing the plug from the mains socket. Never pull the plug out of the mains socket by its lead.
  • To avoid injury or possible fire, do not cover the appliance when in use.
  • Not recommended to be used with a plug in timer switch.
  • An earthed extension cable may be used with care. The electrical rating of the cable should be at least as great as the appliance. Do not allow the cable to hang over the edge of the worktop or touch any hot surfaces.

  • DO NOT immerse the charger or floor cleaner into the water for cleaning to avoid any risk.
  • DO NOT try to lubricate the rotating heads with lubricant or oil. This will cause the dust and dirt to increasingly adhere to the rotating heads.
  • NOTE: A small amount of dust residue in the dust container is possible. This is a result of quality checks during production and does not constitute a defect or used appliance.
  • WARNING: Whenever the appliance is in use, as there are rotating parts, keep loose clothing, hair, fingers etc. away from the floor brush and suction nozzle.

AC ADAPTOR – CHARGER

  • Only use the adaptor supplied by Lakeland.
  • The AC adaptor has been designed for a specific voltage. Always check that the mains voltage is the same as that stated on the rating plate.
  • An adaptor that is suitable for one type of battery pack may create a risk of fire when used with another battery pack. Never use an adaptor from another appliance to attempt to charge this appliance.
  • Before use, check the adaptor cord for signs of damage or ageing. A damaged or entangled cord increases the risk of fire and electric shock.
  • Never carry the charger by the cord and DO NOT pull the cord to disconnect from a socket.
  • Keep the charger cord away from hot surfaces and sharp edges.
  • The supply cord cannot be replaced. If the cord is damaged the charger should be discarded and replaced.

LI-ION BATTERY SAFETY

  • This appliance includes Li-Ion batteries; DO NOT incinerate batteries or expose to high temperatures, as they may explode.
  • DO NOT expose the battery pack to excessive shock, this may result in leakage of the electrolyte solution which could cause personal injury.
  • Leaks from the battery cells can occur under extreme conditions. DO NOT touch any liquid that leaks from the battery. If the liquid gets on the skin wash immediately with soap and water. If the liquid gets into the eyes, flush them immediately with clean water for a minimum of 10 minutes and seek medical attention. Wear gloves to handle the battery and dispose of immediately in accordance with local regulations.
  • DO NOT short the battery terminals as this may cause burns or fire.
  • When disposing of the appliance remove the battery and dispose of the battery safely in accordance with local regulations.

USING YOUR CORDLESS TURBOCLEAN FLOOR CLEANER FOR THE FIRST TIME

  • Unpack the appliance, remove all of the packaging materials.
  • Insert the handle into the extension tube, this will only fit one way and the securing catch will lock into place.
  • Insert the extension tube into the main unit, this will only fit one way and the securing catch will lock into place.
  • Insert the main unit into the floor cleaner head, this will only fit one way and the securing catch will lock into place.

CHARGING YOUR CORDLESS TURBOCLEAN FLOOR CLEANER

  • Position the appliance on a dry, flat surface. No more than 1m from a mains wall electrical socket.
  • On the back of the main unit there is a red rubber plug, open the red rubber plug by pulling from the top.
  • Insert the mains charging adaptor.
  • Place the mains charger adaptor into the electrical wall power socket and switch on.
  • Only use the mains charger adaptor which is supplied with the appliance.
  • Fully charge the appliance before first use.
  • The appliance cannot be activated during the charging process and will not work.
  • It takes approximately 2 hours to fully charge the battery, when fully charged the 4 battery indicator lights on the front of the main unit will be illuminated.
  • During the charging process the battery indicator lights will flash to show it is charging, starting with the bottom indicator light flashing and then moving up the lights. At each level of charge the battery indicator light will become fully on. When fully charged all 4 battery indicator lights will be fully illuminated.
  • Turn off the mains charging adaptor at the wall socket and unplug. Remove the adaptor from the back of the main unit and insert the plug.
  • When fully charged the appliance will work for approximately 1 hour, depending on power setting.
  • The battery indicates that it is running low when the bottom battery indicator light is blinking, at this point you will need to recharge the appliance.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

  • The appliance should only be used if it has been completely and correctly assembled.
  • When you switch on the vacuum for the first time you may notice a slight burning smell, this is normal for a new appliance and will stop after a few uses.

INTENDED USE
DO NOT use the appliance to suck up the following:

  • Liquids or wet substances (e.g. wet carpet shampoo).
  • Glowing ash, cigarette ends, matches and the like.
  • Inflammable or explosive substances.
  • Very fine dust (e.g. concrete dust), ash, or toner.
  • Pointed, hard objects such as large pieces of broken glass.

OPERATION

  • Put your foot on the floor cleaner head at the side and towards the front, at the same time pull the handle back, it will be ready to work after hearing a click sound.

  • Press the power button and low speed will be selected for a dry mop/sweeping function.

  • Guide the appliance slowly over the surface to be swept and dust will collect in the dust container.

  • Repeat several times until all the dust is swept in.

  • The appliance is not suitable for cleaning particles larger than 10mm in diameter.

  • Press the power button again and high speed will be selected for a wet mop function.

  • To stop the appliance, press the power button again.

  • Always empty the dust container after each use.

  • During operation, the power light will be lit, along with the lights on the front of the floor cleaner head. Please pay attention to the display, it will show the time left to run. As the time decreases, the power level, shown by the number of battery indicator lights, will also decrease. The appliance will stop working automatically when there is no power left.

  • The bottom battery power light will flash, to warn you when the Cordless Turbo Floor Cleaner needs recharging.

USING THE CORDLESS TURBOCLEAN FLOOR CLEANER AS A DRY MOP/SWEEPING

  • Put your foot on the floor cleaner head at the side and towards the front, at the same time pull the handle back, it will be ready to work after hearing a click sound.
  • Press the power button once and the appliance will start working on the lower speed setting.
  • When the appliance is working the power indicator light at the top of the display will remain on, with the level of power in the battery being shown with the 4 battery indicator lights.
  • Press the power button once more and the appliance will start working on the higher speed setting.
  • When the appliance is running and in use the lights on the front of the floor cleaner head will illuminate.
  • To stop the appliance press the power button again. Move the handle back to a vertical position until it clicks and then the Floor Cleaner will stand up on its own.
  • During operation, please pay attention to the 4 battery indicator lights, these will gradually go out as the battery power reduces, the appliance will stop working automatically when the bottom battery indicator light is flashing and the power light is on.

USING THE CORDLESS TURBOCLEAN FLOOR CLEANER AS A WET MOP

  •  Open the water tank cover by opening the white rubber plug located at the back of the floor cleaner head.
  • Pour approximately 300ml of the water into the water tank using a jug.
  • Replace the white rubber plug on the water tank.
  • Put your foot on the floor cleaner head at the side and towards the front, at the same time pull the handle back, it will be ready to work after hearing a click sound.
  • Press the power button once and the appliance will start working on the lower speed setting.
  • When the appliance is working the power light at the top of the display will remain on, with the level of power in the battery being shown with the 4 battery indicator lights.
  • Press the power button once more and the appliance will start working on the higher speed setting.
  • Press the water spray button and water will spray out of the front of the head.
  • When the appliance is running and in use the lights on the front of the floor cleaner head will illuminate.
  • To stop the appliance press the power button again.
  • Move the handle back to a vertical position until it clicks and then the Floor Cleaner will stand up on its own.

CARE AND CLEANING

  • Switch off the appliance and let it cool completely before cleaning.
  • Clean thoroughly before using for the first time and after every use.
  • Check the parts for wear or damage after every few uses.
  • Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.
  • Empty the dust container each time after you have used the appliance.
  • Do not use any sharp or abrasive cleaning agents or cleaning pads to clean the appliance. These can damage the surface.
  • Store the appliance in a dry, cool place that is not accessible to children and animals.

EMPTYING THE DUST CONTAINER

  • To empty the dust container, keep the appliance the correct way up, standing upright on the floor.
  • Situated at the back of the floor cleaner head, press the release button down to release the dust container.
  • Pull out the dust container in a horizontal direction and then gently tilt your hand so that the point of the dust container is pointing upwards.
  • Empty the dust container over the bin.
  • Wipe out the dust container with a dry cloth if necessary.
  • Then replace into the floor cleaner head, you will hear a click when it is in place.

CHANGING THE CLEANING PADS

  • CAUTION: When you invert and lift the appliance, DO NOT have your hand too close to the floor cleaner head pivoting joint to avoid your hand being pinched.
  • TIP: Empty the dust container first.
  • Place the appliance on a table or worktop so you can see the base of the floor cleaner head.
  • The front and rear cleaning pads attach and detach using a hook and loop fastening.
  • Place the circular cleaning pads on to the circular heads.
  • To remove, simply pull off.
  • The rear cleaning pad attaches and detaches using a hook and loop fastening.
  • Place the rear cleaning pad on to the base of the dust container.
  • To remove, simply pull off.
  • The rear pad can be changed when you have removed the dust container from the floor cleaner head. This makes it easy to access.
