Please take a little time to read this booklet before you use your Electric Shoe Dryer and keep it in a safe place for future reference.

The Electric Shoe Dryer is great to dry and air your footwear when they get damp or wet. Perfect for warming shoes, boots and slippers before you put them on, at a stable temperature of 68°C. Simple to use controller has 3 auto-shut off settings, up to 9 hours.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

Carefully read all the instructions before using the appliance and keep in a safe place for future reference. Always follow these safety precautions when using the appliance to avoid personal injury or damage to the appliance. This appliance should be used only as described in this instruction book.

  • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
    Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be done by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.

  • Make sure your electricity supply matches the voltage shown on the appliance.

  • Ensure all packaging materials and any promotional labels or stickers are removed from the appliance before the first use.

  • Always use the appliance on a dry surface and not in rooms with a high humidity.

  • Unplug from the mains when not in use and before cleaning. To disconnect, turn the socket to “off” and remove the plug from the mains socket.

  • Do not use any accessories or attachments with this appliance other than those recommended by Lakeland.

  • To protect against fire, electric shock or personal injury, do not immerse cord, plug or appliance in water or other liquids.

  • Do not leave the lead hanging over the edge of a bed, kitchen table or worktop, where it may be pulled by children, or tripped over.

  • For indoor use only and not in bathrooms.

  • For domestic use only.

  • This appliance should be used for drying as described within the instructions.

  • Always ensure that your hands are dry before removing the plug from the mains socket. Never pull the plug out of the mains socket by its lead.

  • To avoid injury or possible fire, do not cover the appliance when in use.

  • Not recommended to be used with a plug-in timer switch.

  • An earthed extension cable may be used with care.
    The electrical rating of the cable should be at least as great as the appliance. Do not allow the cable to hang over the edge of the worktop or touch any hot surfaces.

  • WARNING! A cut off plug inserted into a 13 amp socket is a serious safety (shock) hazard. Ensure the cut off plug is disposed of safely.

  • CAUTION: The plastic bags used to wrap this appliance or the packaging may be dangerous. To avoid risk of suffocation, keep these bags out of reach of babies and children. These bags are not toys.

  • This appliance is strictly prohibited to be exposed to rain or washed with water, otherwise it will damage the product and cause electric shock.

  • When drying footwear with this appliance, please keep away from curtains or other flammable items.

  • This appliance is strictly prohibited from inserting pins, iron wires and other metal objects to avoid danger.

  • The vent holes of this product are strictly prohibited from being blocked.

  • Do not scrub with gasoline, toluene or other strong solvents.

  • If this product is damaged or deformed, please stop using it.

  • Turn off the power after use.

  • If there is smoke or odour during use, please stop using it.

  • Do not use this appliance when there is standing water in the footwear.

  • During use, the temperature of the plastic case is high, please do not touch it to avoid burns.

  • Do not press the power cord under the bottom plate or touch sharp objects during use to avoid damage to leakage.

  • When using this appliance, please use it alone on a hard heat-resistant surface or floor.

  • It is strictly prohibited to use it in places where flammable and explosive materials are stored.

USING YOUR ELECTRIC SHOE DRYER FOR THE FIRST TIME

  • Unpack the Electric Shoe Dryer, remove all the packaging materials.
  • The Electric Shoe Dryer is ready to use.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

  • The Electric Shoe Dryer is designed with an expandable structure, which is suitable for different shoe sizes.

  • To extend the appliance, hold it in both hands and gently pull your hands apart to extend.

  • Insert each shoe dryer into your footwear to be warmed or dried. The cord should come out of the shoe dryer at the top and closest to the heel part of the footwear.
    Instructions For Use

  • Place the footwear on a heat-resistant surface.

  • Plug in at the mains socket and switch on.

  • Press the ‘On/off/auto shut-off timer button’ to turn the appliance on and then select desired time to run.
    If you depressing the button it will cycle through the auto shut-off timer settings.

  • The product has three auto-shut off times of 3, 6 and 9 hours marked on the controller as 3H, 6H and 9H.

  • The temperature of the bottom plate of this product is generally maintained between 65±5°C.

  • It is suitable for all ordinary materials of footwear.

  • When the appliance has finished on the time selected, it will automatically switch off and no lights will show on the controller.

  • Switch off and unplug at the mains socket.

  • The appliance needs to be completely cool before storage.
    Instructions For Use

AUTO SHUT-OFF

  • Your shoe dryer has 3 settings for automatically switching off – 3, 6 and 9 hours.
  • The auto shut-off time, on the controller will be illuminated with a dot by it.

CARE AND CLEANING

  • Unplug the Electric Shoe Dryer and let it cool completely before cleaning.
  • Check parts for wear and damage after every few uses.
  • Never immerse the cord, plug or appliance in water or any other liquid.
  • Remove any dirt on the surface, then use a soft cloth with a little kitchen detergent to wipe it and dry thoroughly.
  • Plug in at the socket and switch on for a couple of minutes to dry.
  • Switch off at the socket and unplug, allow to cool completely before storing.
  • Store the appliance in a dry, cool place that is not accessible to children and animals, with the cord loosely wrapped.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Question: Why is the controller not illuminating?

Answer: Check that the appliance is plugged in and switched on at the socket. Press the on/off auto shut-off level button to get the indicator lights to come on.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS

The appliance is fitted with a fused three-pin plug to BS1363 which is suitable for use in all homes fitted with sockets to current specifications.

CHANGING THE 3 AMP FUSE
Use a 3 amp BS1362 fuse. Only BSI or ASTA approved fuses should be used. If you are unsure which plug or fuse to use, always refer to a qualified electrician.

Note: After replacing or changing a fuse on a moulded plug which has a fuse cover, the cover must be refitted to the plug; the appliance must not be used without a fuse cover. If lost, replacement fuse covers can be obtained from an electrical shop.
