Thank you for choosing the Lakeland 1L Electrical Dehumidifier.
Please take a little time to read this booklet before getting started and keep
it in a safe place for future reference.
The 1L Electrical Dehumidifier removes moisture from the air to help prevent condensation and damp issues in your home. It is small, portable and lightweight, ideal for use in many spaces e.g kitchens, bedrooms or office. This dehumidifier removes up to 250ml(±50ml) of water from the air per day, and has a maximum capacity of 1L. It also has built-in colour changing light for ambient lighting.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Carefully read all the instructions before using the appliance and keep in a safe place for future reference. Always follow these safety precautions when using the appliance to avoid personal injury or damage to the appliance. This appliance should be used only as described in this instruction book.

This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be done by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.

Always use the appliance on a dry, level, heat resistant surface. Do not allow the power cord to touch hot surfaces.

Unplug from the mains when not in use and before cleaning. To disconnect, turn the socket to “off” and remove the plug from the mains socket.

Do not use any accessories or attachments with this appliance other than those recommended by Lakeland.

To protect against fire, electric shock or personal injury, do not immerse cord, plug or lid in water or other liquids.

Do not leave the lead hanging over the edge of a kitchen table or worktop, where it may be pulled by children, or tripped over. Avoid contact between the lead and hot surfaces.

This appliance should be used for dehumidifying as described within the instructions for use that accompany it.

Always ensure that your hands are dry before removing the plug from the mains socket. Never pull the plug out of the mains socket by its lead.

To avoid injury or possible fire, do not cover the appliance when in use.

Not recommended to be used with a plug-in timer switch.

An earthed extension cable may be used with care. The electrical rating of the cable should be at least as great as the appliance. Do not allow the cable to hang over the edge of the worktop or touch any hot surfaces.

WARNING: A cut off plug inserted into a 13 amp socket is a serious safety (shock) hazard. Ensure the cut off plug is disposed of safely.

CAUTION: The plastic bags used to wrap this appliance or the packaging may be dangerous. To avoid risk of suffocation, keep these bags out of reach of babies and children. These bags are not toys.

DO NOT leave the Electrical Dehumidifier unattended when in use.

DO NOT leave the Electrical Dehumidifier touching fabrics or very flammable surfaces.

Make sure the Electrical Dehumidifer has at least 10cm space around it when in use i. e. walls or objects.

Avoid placing or exposing the appliance to rain or heat sources e.g. electric stoves, LPG stoves, heat pipes or blazing sunlight.

Unplug the Electrical Dehumidifier before emptying the water tank, before cleaning and maintenance and immediately after use.
USING YOUR ELECTRICAL DEHUMIDIFIER FOR THE FIRST TIME
- Unpack the Electrical Dehumidifier, remove all the packaging materials.
- Remove the lower cover from the back of the main unit and take out the power adaptor. Connect the power adaptor into the DC power socket and the other end into the wall socket and turn on.
- Place on a dry, flat level surface.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
- There will be an audible beep each time the power button is pressed.
- Press the power button lightly to turn on the dehumidifier. The ambient light turns green and stays on.
- To switch off the dehumidfier press the power button again.
- If the dehumidifier is tilted or falls over during operation, it will stop running and the ambient light will turn off. If this happens switch off at the socket and unplug, then remove the water tank to check if water leaked onto the main unit.
WARNING : If water has entered the main unit of the appliance or continues to drip, the appliance needs to be sent to professional for inspection before it can be used again.
CHANGING THE AMBIENT LIGHT COLOUR
- Press the power button to power on the dehumidifier. The ambient light turns green and stays on.
- To change the colour of the light, press the power button lightly to turn the dehumidifier off, then press the power button again to turn it on. Each time this is done the ambient light will change colour. Once you have cycled through all the colour options – green, yellow, blue, cyan and purple, the ambient light will go back to green and the cycle will start again.
EMPTYING THE WATER TANK
- The dehumidification capacity of this dehumidifier is about 250ml per day, and the maximum capacity of the water tank is 1000ml.
- When the water tank is full, the float will rise, the ambient light will turn red and the appliance will stop automatically.
- Press the power button to turn off the machine, then slowly remove the water tank by pulling it forwards. Avoid tilting the tank otherwise the water will overflow.
- Take off the water tank lid by putting a finger through the hole in the top to help grip the lid, pull it upwards, then pour the water out.
- After pouring the water out, put the water tank back to its original position, press the power button to turn on the dehumidifier and it will start working again.
- The water tank should be emptied on a regular basis, do not always wait for the ambient light to turn red.
STORING YOUR DEHUMIDIFIER
- When dehumidification is not needed, turn off, unplug the appliance and empty the water tank.
- Store the dehumidifier empty and standing upright in a safe, dry place with the power adaptor and cord stored away in the cord storage. Never wrap it tightly around the product.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Question : Why is the dehumidifier not working?
Answer: Check that the main unit is connected to the power adaptor correctly, plugged in at the socket and turned on. There could be a problem with the socket, try a different socket. Check that the power button is switched to on. If the dehumidifier is still not working, contact Lakeland Customer Services. -
Question : Why has the ambient light turned red?
Answer : The water tank is full, power off the appliance and empty the water tank. -
Question : Why when I press the power button nothing happens?
Answer : You may be pressing the power button too hard.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
- Switch off and unplug the appliance and remove the power adaptor before cleaning.
- Remove water tank and empty the water, then dry the outside with a dry cloth. Empty the water tank on a regular basis.
- Clean thoroughly before using for the first time and after every use.
- The outside of the appliance can be wiped with a clean damp cloth, dry thoroughly before storing.
- DO NOT use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads or wire wool to clean the appliance.
- Detach the lower cover to clean power adaptor storage space and replace after drying.
- Never immerse the main unit in water or any other liquid.
- Check the parts for wear or damage after every few uses.
- Store the dehumidifier empty and standing upright in a safe, dry place with the power adaptor and cord stored away in the cord storage. Never wrap it tightly around the product.

The appliance is fitted with a fused three-pin plug to BS1363 which is
suitable for use in all homes fitted with sockets to current specifications.
