Instruction for use
Ear defenders are personal protective equipment that reduces the impact of noise on hearing.
Product / model: Models 4957000, 4958000, 4959000, 4960000, 4961000 are headband ear defenders with height-adjustable capsules and replaceable ear pads (TPE/PU), capsule foam inserts and capsule retainers (stainless steel or plastic).
Recommendations
- The user should ensure that the ear defenders are correctly seated, well-adjusted and serviced in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Ensure that you always wear the ear defenders in all noisy environments and that the maintenance requirement is determined at regular intervals.
Caution
- A non-adherence to these recommendations results in a great reduction in the protective effect of the capsule ear defenders.

Assembly
- wolfcraft headband ear defenders are worn on the head.
- Slightly bend the ear defenders apart and pull them over the head.
- Position the capsules over the ear and adjust them by moving the capsules.
- Ensure that the sealing rings completely cover the ears and that they firmly rest against the head.
- The head strap should be slightly positioned against the head.
Warning
- These ear defenders are designed for small, medium and large size ranges.
- Ear defenders to EN 352-1 are designed for the “medium size range”, the “small size range” or the “large size range”. The “medium size range” will be suitable for most wearers. The “small size range” and the “large size range” are designed for wearers that are outside the “medium size range”.
- Ear defenders, especially pads, may become damaged through use and should be examined at regular intervals, for example for cracks and leaks.
- The fitting of hygiene covers to the cushions may affect the acoustic performance of the ear-muffs.
Cleaning And Maintenance
Cleaning
This product can be adversely affected by certain chemical substances. Additional information should be obtained from the manufacturer. Please do not clean with any chemicals. The ear defenders can be cleaned using a cloth which has been moistened using warm soap suds. Allow to dry before reuse. Do not use any scratching brushes or other materials which could damage the insulating lining or seals. Do not immerse the ear defenders in water. Only use cleaning agents which do not adversely affect the user.
Maintenance
- Capsule ear defenders and especially the sealing pads can wear with use and should therefore be frequently inspected for signs of tears and cracks.
- Recommend shelf life: 4 years. No spare parts or accessories available by the manufacturer.
Storage:
- The ear defenders are to be stored in clean and dust-free spaces before and after use.
