- If this occurs, disconnect the kettle from the mains supply and allow the kettle to cool before filling it with cold water. The kettle may then be operated normally.

HINTS AND TIPS
- Only use this kettle to heat water.
- Only heat the amount of water you need to use.
- Clean and descale regularly even in soft water areas.
MINIMISING SCALE
- Empty the kettle after each use; DO NOT allow water to stand in the kettle overnight.
- Use filtered water instead of tap water.
- Descale the kettle regularly, at least once a month. In areas of very hard water, you may need to descale more often.
DESCALING
- Limescale may be white, colored, or even rusty-looking, but it’s normally visible on the floor of the kettle. Phosphate scale isn’t generally visible, but it’s there, even in soft water areas.
- All scale causes overheating and reduce the kettle’s life.
- Even with soft water, descale regularly, to help keep your kettle in working order. Use a descaler suitable for plastic products (all kettles have plastic parts).
- When descaling has finished, rinse and boil the kettle several times and discard the water.

- Don’t use harsh abrasive, or alkaline cleaning agents or solvents.
- Ensure that connectors and sockets are kept dry.
- Store the kettle with the power cable loosely coiled or stored in the base. Never wrap it tightly around the base or kettle.
