high quality product. The instructions for use are part of the product. They

using the product, please familiarise yourself with all of the safety

the product as described and for the specified applications. If you pass the
product on to anyone else, please ensure that you also pass on all the

Intended use
This BLUETOOTH® SITE SPEAKER (hereinafter referred to as “product”) is a
consumer electronic intended to render audio transmitted via Bluetooth® or a
3.5mm jack lead connection.
Any other use is considered improper. Any claims resulting from improper use
or due to unauthorised modification of the speaker will be considered
unwarranted. Any such use is at your own risk. The product is not intended for
commercial use.

- Check that the product is secured properly. There is a risk of injury if the device falls down.

- Never open the housing of the product as there is a risk of explosion! The product has no internal parts requiring maintenance.
RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK!
WARNING! Risk of electric shock! Never open the housing of the product or
of the power adaptor. In case of malfunction, repairs are to be conducted by
qualified personnel only.
WARNING! Protect the product and the power adaptor from dripping and splashing water. Do not place containers filled with liquids (such as vases or drinks) on or near the product or the power adaptor. Do not immerse any product components in liquids. Never hold the product under running water.
- To avoid fire, do not place burning candles on or near the product.
- WARNING! Do not touch the power adaptor with wet hands.
- CAUTION! Never use a damaged product. If you notice any damage, disconnect the power adaptor immediately from the mains network. Contact your retailer if the product is damaged.
- Always turn the product off before disconnecting it from the power supply.
- Only use this product with the supplied power adaptor. Only use the supplied power adaptor with this product. Contact your retailer if the power adaptor is damaged. Refer to the technical data of this product.
- To avoid damaging the cord, do not place any objects on it or chafe it on sharp edges. Keep it away from hot surfaces and open flames as well.
- Lay out the cord in such a way that no unintentional pulling or tripping over is possible. Keep the power adaptor and its cord out of reach of children.
- When disconnecting the power adaptor from the electrical outlet, do not pull by the connection cord but by the power adaptor. Do not wrap the connection cord around the product.
- Connect the power adaptor to an electrical outlet that is always easily reachable so that in case of an emergency the plug can be unplugged immediately.
- Pull the power adaptor out of the power supply to completely disconnect the product from the mains network.
- The power adaptor continues to draw a small amount of electricity, even without the radio being operated, as long as the power adaptor is connected to the power supply. To completely switch off the power adaptor, it must be disconnected from the mains network. Do not subject the product to physical shock or strong vibrations.
- If smoke or unusual sounds are observed, immediately unplug the power adaptor from the power supply.
- The power adaptor shall not be covered. Disconnect the power adaptor from the power supply when the product is not in use and before cleaning.
- Let the product dry completely before connecting it to the mains supply and before storage. Allow the product to cool down completely before storage.
- Do not insert any foreign objects into the product.
- Do not expose the product to high temperatures (e.g. in the direct vicinity of a heater).
WARNING!
Wireless interference?
Switch the product off on airplanes, in hospitals, service rooms, or near
medical electronic systems. The wireless signals transmitted could impact
the functionality of sensitive electronics. Keep
the product at least 20 cm from pacemakers
or implantable cardioverter defibrillators, as
the electromagnetic radiation may impair the functionality of pacemakers. The
radio waves transmitted could cause interference in hearing aids. Do not place
the product near flammable gasses or potentially explosives areas (e.g. paint
shops) with the wireless components on, as the radio waves emitted can cause
explosions and fire.
NOTE: When using the product it is recommended that ALL cables (USB / AUX) are less than 3 meters in length to avoid any interference.
ATTENTION!
The range of the radio waves varies by environmental conditions. In the event
of wireless data transmission, unauthorised third parties receiving the data
cannot be excluded. The OWIM GmbH & Co. KG is not responsible for interference
with radios or televisions due to unauthorised modification of the device. The
OWIM GmbH & Co. KG further assumes no liability for using or replacing cables
and devices not distributed by OWIM. The user of the device is fully
responsible for correcting interference caused by such unauthorised
modification of the device, as well as replacement of such devices.
Safety instructions for built- in rechargeable batteries (Battery not included)
- If liquids leak from the product, these may not come into contact with the skin, eyes or the mucous membranes, there exists the danger of chemical burns. Corresponding protective gloves have to be used.
- If the skin, eyes or the mucous membranes have come into contact with the liquid, the concerned spots have to be washed with water and a doctor has to be sought immediately.
WEAR PROTECTIVE GLOVES!
Leaked or damaged batteries / rechargeable batteries can cause burns on
contact with the skin. Wear suitable protective gloves at all times if such an
event occurs.
Special safety directions for battery-operated products
- Ensure that the product is switched off before inserting the battery. Inserting a battery into a product that is switched on may result in accidents.
- Do not use any accessories that are not recommended by PARKSIDE. This can result in electric shock or fire.
Observe the safety information and notes on charging and proper use as shown in the instruction manual for your battery and charger from the Parkside X 20 V TEAM series and Parkside X 12 V TEAM series . A detailed description of the charging process and further information can be found in the separate operating instructions.
Product use and care
- Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for one type of battery pack may create a risk of fire when used with another battery pack.
- Use product only with specifically designated battery packs. Use of any other battery packs may create a risk of injury and fire.
- When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects, that can make a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery terminals together may cause burns or a fire.
- Do not use a battery pack that is damaged or modified. Damaged or modified batteries exhibit unpredictable behaviour resulting in fire, explosion or risk of injury.
- Do not expose a battery pack or product to fire or excessive temperature. Exposure to fire or temperature above 130 °C may cause explosion.
- Follow all charging instruction and do not charge the battery pack or product outside the temperature range specified in the instruction. Charging improperly or at temperatures outside the specified range may damage the battery and increase the risk of the fire.
Battery charger safety warnings

This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision. -
Do not charge regular or non-rechargeable batteries. Disregarding this instruction is hazardous.

If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

Protect the electrical parts against moisture. Do not immerse such parts in water or other liquids to avoid electrical shock. Never hold the appliance under running water. Pay attention to the instructions provided for cleaning, maintenance and repair.

Installation and power supply
- There are 2 options that can be used to power up this Bluetooth speaker
- Power up via AC power adapter (included inside packaging)
- Power up via Parkside 12/ 20V rechargeable battery (Not included)
Important note
- 12V/ 20V rechargeable battery cannot be charged via the supplied AC power adapter.
- 12V/ 20V rechargeable battery is not included as standard accessories.
- Do not use accessories not recommended by Parkside. This may result in electric shock or fire.
Charging the battery pack*
(Fig E and Fig F)
CAUTION! Always disconnect the power plug of power cord [20] before removing the battery pack [17], [18], [19] from the charger [23] and before connecting it to the charger.
Important note
- Our battery packs [17], [18], [19] are partially charged. Charge the battery pack completely before first use.
- The battery pack [17], [18], [19] can be charged at any time as needed without shortening its service life.
- Interrupting the charging process does not damage the battery pack [17], [18], [19]
- Never charge the battery pack [17], [18], [19] if the ambient temperature is below +10 °C or above +40 °C.
- Insert the battery pack [17], [18], [19] into the charger [23].
- Connect the power plug of power cord [20] to a suitable socket-outlet.
- The charging control LEDs (green [21] and red [22]) indicate the charging status of the battery pack [23]:
When the battery pack is fully charged
Disconnect the power plug of power cord [20] from the socket-outlet.
Remove the battery pack [17], [18], [19] from the charger [23].
Battery pack and battery charger are not included.
CAUTION
- Be careful when install 12V/20V rechargeable battery onto Bluetooth speaker, please always unplug the AC power adapter first before installing rechargeable battery.
- Be careful after installed rechargeable battery onto product, please do not strike the product and that will damage product or even resulting in fire, explosion, or any kind of risk of injury of your body.
Power up speaker via AC power adapter (fig. A)
- First, insert the DC jack of power adapter [15] into 18V DC input socket [10] of Bluetooth speaker.
- And then plug the power adapter [15] into nearby mains socket outlet. Whenever the power adaptor is used and the 12/20V rechargeable battery is automatically disconnected to speaker.
- Second, press and hold approx. 2 seconds Power ON/OFF button [1] of Bluetooth speaker then start using this product.
CAUTION
- Always disconnected the AC power adapter completely before moving speaker. If AC power adapter is not removed, it may cause an electric shock.
- Never pull and/ Or drag the power cord of adaptor. Otherwise, the speaker may fall and causing injury to you or someone around you.
- The mains power adapter is used as the means of connecting the speaker to mains supply. The mains socket used for the speaker must remain accessible during normal use.
- In order to disconnect the speaker, the mains adaptor should be removed from the mains outlet completely.
- Use the AC power adaptor supplied with the product only.
Power up speaker via 12/20V rechargeable battery (see fig B to fig. D)
Important note
- Either one of 12V or 20V rechargeable battery can be installed and use onto Bluetooth speaker.
- Rechargeable battery is not included in this product.
You can insert 12V/ slide 20V rechargeable battery into respective battery socket [11] or [12], please follow below steps to install rechargeable battery.
- Identify which kind of 12V/ 20V battery that you will be installed on Bluetooth speaker.
- 12V battery need to insert to battery socket [12] of speaker.
- 20V battery need to be slide into battery socket [11] of speaker.
- Please always insert/ slide battery all the way until it locks in place with a little click to make sure battery firmly placed inside battery socket.
- If the rechargeable battery cannot insert/ slide into battery socket easily. Please do not force to install it. And this may be due to battery not being insert correctly.
- To remove battery from socket, press and unlock battery latches and slowly put it out from socket.
Using the product
Press and hold the **** button [1] approx. 2 seconds until the LED [2] light up white and a signal tone sequence sounds. The product will now attempt to connect to the playback device (e.g. smartphone or computer).
LED indicator behavior
Establishing a Bluetooth® connection:
- Remove all plugs from the AUX-in jack [9] before you attempt to establish a Bluetooth® connection.
- Switch on the playback device and make sores its Bluetooth® mode is on.
- On the product press the button [5] until the LED [2] flashes white per second and a signal tone sequence sounds. The product will now attempt to connect to the playback device (e.g. smartphone or computer).
- The product identification on the playback device will be “PBL 40 A1“. On the playback device “ACCEPT“ the connection. Please note the requirements of the software on the playback device.
- Once the connection is made the LED [2] flashes white turn solid white color.
- The maximum range of the connection is approx. 10 m, but this may be reduced due to the geometry of the space (obstructing furniture, walls, etc.).
- The playback device must support Bluetooth® standard 5.3 otherwise you may not be able to use all the functions.
Functions of the buttons
- Start a playlist on your playback device.
- The product has 5 buttons and these control the following functions
TWS mode
- Double press to pair two speakers (same model) before they connect to an external Bluetooth playback device. A signal tone will be heard if pairing has been carried out successfully. The two speakers now work as stereo speakers.
- Double press again to break the current TWS connection, a signal tone will be heard.
NOTE: When you change the volume on the product the volume on the playback device will also so change. This volume synchronization function depends on the operating system and the brand of your playback device.
Connecting via the AUX-in jack
- Once the AUX cable [14] is plugged into the AUX-in jack [9], press briefly source selection button [1] to switch the source to AUX mode.
- If the product is off, press and hold 2 seconds the button [1] until the signal LED [2] lights up white and a signal tone sequence sounds. After that, press briefly button [1] again to switch source to AUX mode.
- Switch the playback device on and start playback.
- Set the highest possible volume on the playback device. Then adjust the volume with the +/- buttons [4] [3] on the speaker.
Switching between AUX-in and Bluetooth® connections
To resume music playback via Bluetooth® connection, press briefly the
button [1] again or Bluetooth button [5] to enter into Bluetooth mode. The
product will then search for the previously paired playback device (if any)
and re-establish the Bluetooth® connection automatically.
True Wireless Stereo TWS pairing
NOTE: This function is only available when the two speakers are
identical (same model number)
- Turn on both speakers and make sure they are both not connected to another device via Bluetooth®. At this moment, neither of the speakers is actively coupled with a playback device.
- Double press the Bluetooth button [5] on one of the products which will then by default set it as the “primary“ unit. A beep will emit sound. When pairing between both products has been carried out successfully, the LED [2] of the connected “secondary“ unit turns to solid blue and a sequence of beeps will sound. The primary“ unit LED [2] will still be flashing blue waiting to pair with the playback device. Once the “primary“ unit has successfully paired with the playback device both the “primary“ and “secondary“ units can be played and controlled synchronously during Bluetooth® playback mode.
- Double press the Bluetooth button [5] again to break the TWS pairing connection, the LED [2] on the connected “secondary“ unit flashes blue and a signal tone sequence sounds.
NOTE: The product which had its Bluetooth® connection to playback device first will become the “primary“ unit (in the left audio channel), and the other unit will then by default become the “secondary“ unit (in the right audio channel).
Charging via USB-A output port
This Bluetooth speaker built with USB-A port [8] that you can charge up
your portable device like smartphone, MP3 player…etc. via this port. Power ON
this Bluetooth speaker and no matter if speaker is AC powered or battery
powered, the speaker can charge the USB device when speaker is switch ON.
Important note
- Maximum volume of speaker will be decreased when your USB-A output is charging portable device.
- This USB-A port can only provide max output 5V/2.1A
- Please always backup your data of USB device. Otherwise, your data may lose by any possibility.
- This USB-A port may not supply power to some of USB devices
- When not using or after charging, remove the USB cable.
- Do not connect power source to this USB-A output port. Otherwise, there is risk of fire. This USB port is intended for charging low voltage device.
- Do not insert any small metal object or wire, etc. into this USB power output port. Otherwise, a short circuit may cause smoke and fire.
- Do not connect this USB-A socket with your PC USB port, as it is highly possible that it may cause breakdown of this unit.
Cleaning
- Switch the product off and remove all cables /rechargeable battery before cleaning.
- Only clean the outside of the product using a clean, dry cloth for cleaning the product and never use any corrosive liquids / abrasive cleaning agents. Use a slightly moistened cloth and a mild cleaning agent to remove stubborn dirt.
Storage during non use
Store the product in a dry environment when not in use. Protect it from
dust and direct sunlight.
**Battery pack advice***
- Store the battery pack separately.
- The rechargeable battery need to be charged regularly, for example every 3 months when storing for extended periods. Recharge as necessary.

= No music playback via AUX-in connection
= Error connecting the AUX cable [14].
= Reconnect the AUX cable [14] to the playback device.
= The volume at the playback device or at the product is too low and has to be
increased

Packaging
The packaging is made of environmentally friendly materials, which you be
disposed through your local recycling facilities.

dispose of your worn-out product.
The adjacent symbol of a crossed out dustbin on wheels indicates this product
is subject to directive 2012/19/EU. This directive states at the end of the
life this product must not be disposed of through regular household refuse but
must be returned to special collection sites, recycling depots or waste
management companies.
This disposal is free of charge to you.
Protect the environment and dispose of properly.
The product incl. accessories and packaging materials are recyclable and are subject to extended producer responsibility. Dispose them separately, following the illustrated Info-tri (sorting information), for better waste treatment. The Triman logo is valid in France only.
Batteries/accumulators:
Environmental damage through incorrect disposal of the batteries/accumulators!
Never dispose of batteries in your household waste. They may contain toxic heavy metals and are subject to hazardous waste regulations. The chemical symbols of the heavy metals are: Cd = cadmium, Hg = mercury, Pb = lead. Therefore dispose of used batteries through your local collection site.

Warranty and Service
Warranty
- The product has been manufactured to strict quality guidelines and meticulously examined before delivery. In the event of material or manufacturing defects you have legal rights against the retailer of this product. Your legal rights are not limited in any way by our warranty detailed below.
- The warranty for this product is 3 years from the date of purchase. The warranty period begins on the date of purchase. Keep the original sales receipt in a safe location as this document is required as proof of purchase.
- Any damage or defects already present at the time of purchase must be reported without delay after unpacking the product.
- Should the product show any fault in materials or manufacture within 3 years from the date of purchase, we will repair or replace it – at our choice – free of charge to you. The warranty period is not extended as a result of a claim being granted. This also applies to replaced and repaired parts.
- This warranty becomes void if the product has been damaged, or used or maintained improperly.
- The warranty covers material or manufacturing defects. This warranty does not cover product parts subject to normal wear and tear, thus considered consumables (e.g. batteries, rechargeable batteries, tubes, cartridges), nor damage to fragile parts, e.g. switches or glass parts.
Warranty claim procedure
- To ensure quick processing of your claim, observe the following instructions:
- Make sure to have the original sales receipt and the item number (IAN 448453_2307) available as proof of purchase.
- You can find the item number on the rating plate, an engraving on the product, on the front page of the instruction manual (bottom left), or as a sticker on the rear or bottom of the product.
- If functional or other defects occur, contact the service department listed below either by telephone or by e-mail.
- Once the product has been recorded as defective you can return it free of charge to the service address that will be provided to you. Ensure to enclose the proof of purchase (sales receipt) and a short, written description outlining the details of the defect and when it occurred.
