We would like to congratulate you on the purchase of our pump. We appreciate your trust. That‘s why functional security and operational safety stands on first place for us.
- To prevent damage to persons or property, you should read this user manual carefully.
- Please observe all safety precautions and instructions for proper use of the pump. Failure to follow the instructions and safety precautions can result in injury or property damage.
- Please keep this manual with the instructions and safety instructions carefully in order to at any time you can restore them.
- Please always download the latest version of the user manual of www.profi-pumpe under„ downloads“. This shall always prevail.
IN GENERAL
The pumps are developed according to the newest stand of technology,
manufactured with much care and go under strict intensive controls – each
pump is checked individually – rests of the check-fluid could be still
inside the pump or on the package. The pumps were optimized by us in
particular for their special demands.
Make sure after unpacking the pump that the data given on the type label agree
with the operating conditions. In the case of doubt the pump is not to be
used. Transport damages are immediately to be reported to the package distrib
utor and to us in witten form. By transport with DHL please contact your local
DHL office within 7 days.
RANGES OF APPLICATION
These pumps are made for pumping water, food oil, juice, wine, diesel, biodiesel, fuel oil, machine oil and petroleum*.
IMPORTANT! They are NOT suitable for pumping ignitable liquids like
gasoline or for pumping at places where the danger of an explosion exists.
When using flammable liquids with the pump, make sure there are no open
flames, lighters, matches, cigarettes or similar things present around you.
These pumps are made for pumping clean medium. The pumped liquid should not
contain abrasive components. Abrasive components reduces pump life.
COMMISSIONING
The installation must be performed by a qualified professional.
Please check the battery for charge and integrity before each start-up.
Furthermore, it is NOT recommended to make any changes to the charging cable,
charger, pump or battery by yourself. It is not certain whether this
modification is technically correct, so this warranty is void. It must be
ensured that the pump is sufficiently cooled down during prolonged operation.
Universal pumps are electrical products, which have to be protected against outer influences, f.e. caused by weather. Only use the pump in well-ventilated rooms and areas with enough fresh air. The floor, on which the pump may be used, should be flat. Please keep enough space from walls. Place the tank as near to the pump as possible.
The specified suction lift is the maximum suction at optimal conditions. The suction line to the pump has to be steadily increa-sing. The pump and the suction pipe must be filled with the used medium before turning „on“ the pump. Do not reduce the cross area of suction and discharge lines. Connect suction and discharge lines to the pump by means of reinforced metal hose. Connect the check valve with filter basket (not included in the standard scope of delivery of the pump) tightly to the end of the suction line. For stationary use please place the pump on rubber pads to reduce vibration transmission to and from the pump and thereby prevent damage caused. The suction and discharge line should be connected to to the pump in souch way, that no mechanical stress on the connections occure. For example, Fix lines by pipe clamps with rubber insert on the wall.
CAUTION : Do not connect a hose more than 5m 1 inch on the pressure side. For smaller hose diameters, use corresponding short hoses. When using a pump nozzle, it is absolutely necessary to ensure that the pump is switched off immediately after the nozzle is closed. These measures must be adhered to in order to avoid damage of pumps.
INSTALLATION
-
Connect all parts as shown in point 13.
(Note: The suction line must be filled with the medium used before switching on the pump). -
Fully charge the battery before use. Connect the battery to the device and start the pump with the on/off switch.
-
Refuel as usual.
-
When fueling is complete, return the nozzle to its storage position and turn off the pump immediately.
Schematic drawings can be found
Please install the pump on solid walls or grounds. DO NOT attach the pump to
cavity or gypsum walls, as these can amplify vibration, damaging the pump and
significantly increasing the pump‘s operating noise. Always use vibration
dampers for installation to avoid damage to the pump.
SECURITY TIPS
- Obey absolutely valid regulations on the electrical security
- It is recommended not to let the pump operate for more than 30-40 min. at a time (risk of overheating)
- Never run pump dry. The idle time should not exceed 30 seconds
- Never run pump against pressure
- Never pump liquid food products
- Before usage, check on the tightness of the hose clamps
- Pay attention to the max. liquid temperature of 35°C
- Switch off pump immediately after usage. The pump must not operate against closed tap valve for more than 1-2 minutes
- Don’t move the pump in any way, while it’s running. It is recommended to work for 30-40 minutes at a time
- During longer unused times, clean the pump, wash it out with clean medium used, dry and store it at room temperature. If the pump was used with water, it is recommended to blow it through with a compressor before storage.
- ALWAYS supervise and watch the pump, while using
- Operation can not be performed by children and young people under 16 and people with intellectual disabilities
- The pump must be protected from rain and moisture. The pump may only be operated in dry rooms.
The ingress of water into the energized components of the pump increases the risk of electric shock or short circuit of the battery.
THE MANUFACTURER EXPLAINS
- To take over no responsibility in the case of accidents or damages on the basis of carelessness or disregard to the instructions in this user manual.
- To reject every responsibility for the damages which originate from the improper use of the pump
BATTERY INFORMATION
If the performance decreases or the charging cycle is shortened, you should
replace the batteries. Please find the item number of the replacement battery
in section 15. Technical data and order at www.profi-pumpe.de
Please note the limited implied warranty of 6 months.
Important! It must be ensured that the battery cover is properly tightened and watertight.
With repeated charge and discharge cycles Lead-Acid and NiMh battery packs are
less efficient (memory effect).
This effect is much less pronounced, but still present in small mass in the
Li-ion batteries used.
Through very short and frequent loading operations and many other operational
influences batteries can age pre-maturely strong. The batteries are therefore
subject to a consumable and wearing part of a shortened warranty of 6 months.
If you find that the battery will be less efficient, the battery needs to be
fully charged. These allow the unit for 2 to 3 days (pump should not be
connected) standing in the sun in order to allow a maximum charge the battery
or use a suitable external charger. We recommend to occasionally repeat this
procedure to extend the battery life.
If after this recharging the battery still does not meet expectations, you
should replace the batteries.
NOTE : The battery is supplied charged. If the state of charge, contrary to expectations, not be sufficient to charge the batteries for at least 8 hours to allow sufficient charging of the battery (so damage the battery to avoid overcharging, the pump must be connected).
WARNINGS ON BATTERY
Lithium Ion cells and battery may get hot, explode or ignite and cause
serious injury if they are exposed to abusive conditions, Be sure to follow
the safety warnings listed below:
- Do not install the battery backwards, so the polarity is reversed.
- Do not connect the positive or/and negative terminal or/and the battery to each other with any meta object, such as wire.
- Do not disassemble or modify the battery. The battery contains safety and protection devices which may cause the battery to generate heat, explode or ignite if damaged.
- Do not place the battery in or near fire, on stoves or other high temperature locations. Do not place the battery in direct sunlight or use/store the battery inside cars during hot weather. Doing so may cause the battery to generate heat, explode or ignite.
- It is not advised for children to handle the battery.
- When the battery is worn out, wrap the terminals with adhesive tape or similar materials before disposal.
- Immediately discontinue use of the battery, if there is an unusual smell, a change of color or shape, or if it appears abnormal in any other way.
- Do not place the battery in microwave ovens, high pressure containers or on cookware facilities.
- In the event of the battery is leaking and fluid gets into your eye, do not rub the eye, rinse well with water and immediately seek medical advice. If left untreated, the battery fluid could cause serious injury to the eye.
SERVICING
Under normal pumping conditions the pump requires no servicing. But it is important to keep the suctions and delivery sections perfectly clean and free from all clogging. At a very often usage or through incorrect electrical loading, it could lead to an incorrect function of the battery. In this case, the battery should be exchanged as soon as possible. Please check before charging the integrity of the cable to the battery charger and power plug. In case of doubt, the operation is not permitted.
The following controls should be carried out regularly:
- Intactness of the electric cable
- That the connection hoses are not bent or broken
- Cleanness of the pump medium
Moreover, the pump should be emptied at risk of frost, be washed out with clean medium and stored dry.
