OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
CONTROL SWITCH
The control switch allows you to stop the blender. Select one of the three
speeds or pulse:
P PULSE / 0-STOP / 1 LOW / 2 HIGH / ICE CRUSH
Use the PULSE function to blend foods that only require a short burst of high
speed blending, or to quickly clean the glass jar.
When pulsing, hold the control switch in the P-PULSE position for a maximum of
2 seconds at a time. Move the control switch to the 0-STOP position to stop
pulsing.
USING YOUR BLENDER
Use the blender to prepare milk shakes, smoothies, fresh fruit or vegetable
juices, drinks, purée vegetables and fruits, and more.
You can also use the blender to prepare smooth soups. All ingredients should
be blended at room temperature. Add enough liquid for a smooth consistency.
-
Ensure the blender is unplugged from the wall socket.
-
Remove the glass jar from the motor base and open the lid.
-
Add the diced ingredients to the glass jar and then add water, milk or other liquids. Ensure that you do not exceed the “MAX” 1500mL level and that the contents cover the blades (approx. 250mL).
-
Close the lid on the glass jar with a firm press until it is tightly sealed.
-
Insert the feeding cap into the lid opening and turn it anticlockwise to lock it in place.
-
Place the assembled glass jar on the motor base and turn the glass jar clockwise until it locks into place.
-
Check that the control switch is in the 0-STOP position, and then plug the blender into the wall socket.
-
Move the control switch to select the desired blending speed or pulse. To prevent the motor from overheating, keep each continuous blending session to no more than 3 minutes at a time. Let the blender rest at least 5 minutes before blending again.
-
To add more ingredients during blending, remove the feeding cap. Turn the feeding cap clockwise to remove it from the lid.
Add the ingredients through the lid opening and then replace the feeding cap. If you are blending a full jar at higher speeds, stop the blender to add the ingredients. -
Once finished, move the control switch to the 0-STOP position and unplug the blender from the wall socket.
-
Turn the glass jar anticlockwise to remove it from the motor base.
NOTE: The blender is fitted with a safety feature that prevents the blender from switching on if the glass jar is not correctly assembled on the motor base.
WARNING : Never open the lid while the blender is operating.
Do not touch the blades. Keep hands, hair, clothing and utensils away from the
blades during operation to prevent serious injury or damage to the appliance.
CAUTION: If you need to open the lid, always stop the blender and remove the jar from the power base. Use a long-handled spatula to empty or scrape food from the sides of the jar.
TIPS FOR USING YOUR BLENDER
-
Cut ingredients into small pieces not exceeding 1.5 cm. Remove hard peel, stones, seeds, etc.
-
The blender is not suitable for beating egg whites, whipping cream, mashing potatoes, grinding meat or mixing dough.
To prevent damage to the blender, do not blend hard foods such as bones, shelled seafood, shelled nuts or large pieces of solid foods such as turnips, squash, beets or carrots. -
Do not blend hard textured foods, such as frozen food, dry beans, coffee beans or rice.
-
Do not blend hot liquids or foods. Let the food cool down to room temperature before blending.
-
Do not blend with an empty jar to prevent the motor from overheating.
-
When blending ingredients of harder consistencies, you may place one hand on top of the lid to help support the jar.
RESETTING THE MOTOR
(OVERHEAT PROTECTION)
The blender is designed to protect itself from overheating. The motor will
turn off if the blender is overloaded, blended for too long, used with an
empty jar, or if food is jammed. Should this occur, follow this reset
procedure:
- Switch off and unplug the blender from the power socket.
- Allow the blender to cool down for approximately 15 minutes.
- Remove the glass jar from the electric base. Reduce the contents of the glass jar if it is overloaded (above the “Max” mark). Check with a spatula to ensure that no ingredients are jamming the blades.
- Close the lid and re-install the glass jar on the electric base.
- Once the motor has cooled down, the reset is complete. Plug the blender into the wall socket and switch on.
To avoid overheating, keep the blending sessions short (less than 3 minutes, with 5 minutes rest in between) and do not exceed the “Max” mark on the glass jar.
CLEANING AND CARE
WARNING! Before cleaning, unplug the blender from the wall socket and remove the glass jar from the motor base.
- DANGER OF ELECTROCUTION! Do not immerse the motor base, power cord or plug in water or any other liquids. Never rinse them under the tap. Keep all electrical parts dry.
- CAUTION: The blades are very sharp. Do not touch the blades. Handle with care.
- NOTE: Do not attempt to remove the blade assembly from the base of the glass jar. The blade assembly and the glass jar form one complete unit, and should only be disassembled by qualified personnel.
- Never use solvents, chemical or abrasive cleaning agents, wire brushes, sharp objects or scouring pads to clean the appliance.
Quick cleaning method
To quickly clean the glass jar and blades with the PULSE function, fill the
glass jar half-full with warm water and a little dish detergent, close the lid
and move the control switch to the 0-PULSE position a few times. Remove the
jar and rinse well.
General cleaning method
- Clean the blender thoroughly after each use.
- Clean the lid, feeding cap and glass jar with warm water and dish detergent. Use a long-handled brush to clean the blades and the interior of the jug. Do not touch the blades.
- Wipe the external surface of the motor base with a soft cloth moistened with water or dish detergent.
- Allow all parts to dry completely before reassembling.
