OCP
(Over Current Protection)| OCP makes sure that the output of the DC voltage
rails remains within safe operating limits.
---|---
OVP
(Over Voltage Protection)| OVP shuts down the PSU when the DC outputs exceed a
certain level, which is determined by the PSU manufacturer.
UVP
(Under Voltage Protection)| UVP shuts off the PSU when the voltage is under a
certain standard.
OPP
(Over Power Protection)| OPP shuts off the PSU when the power drawn is between
115% ~ and 135% of the rated power.
OTP
(Over Temperature Protection)| OTP makes sure that the PSU will shut down
when the internal temperature reaches a set point.
SCP
(Short Circuit Protection)| SCP makes sure that the PSU shuts down when the
3.3V, 5V, and 12V rails short to any other rail, or to ground. It also ensures
that no damage should occur to the unit, or your PC’s components in the event
of a short.
FAQ
Where is the 4-pin CPU connector?
The 8-pin CPU cable can be split into two 4-pin connectors.
How to connect the PSU to the GPU with 6-pin and 2-pin connectors
Combine the 6-pin and 2-pin connectors into an 8-pin connector before connecting them to the GPU.
How to connect the PSU to the motherboard
For ATX motherboards Plug in the 18-pin and 14-pin connectors to the PSU and the 24-pin to the motherboard. For ATX12VO motherboards Plug in the 14-pin connector to the PSU and the 10-pin to the motherboard.
Why does the PSU fail to power up?
Check if the CPU connectors are connected to the motherboard and PSU correctly, if not, the PSU can’t be powered up.
After installing a new GPU, the PC system crashes frequently.
The PSU may be inadequate for your new GPU. Please refer to our PSU calculator tool on ENERMAX’s official website.
The fan doesn’t continue spinning after the PSU is turned on for several seconds.
With the Dust-free Rotation(DFR) function, the fan will start spinning clockwise for several seconds in the beginning to clean itself and then turn counterclockwise for a few more seconds. Eventually, it will pause to switch to fanless mode.
Can I open the power case for maintenance?
Only authorized technicians are allowed to perform maintenance services. Unauthorized attempts to open or modify the power supply will void the warranty.
