Connection to Gas Cylinder
Follow the manufacturer’s instructions to connect the gas cylinder to the barbecue.

Replacing the Gas Cylinder
Before replacing the gas cylinder, make sure its valve is closed. Follow the manufacturer’s guidelines for safe replacement.

Q: Can I use this barbecue with any type of gas?
A: No, this barbecue is designed for use with G30 – Butane or G31 – Propane gas only. Using other types of gas can be dangerous.

• Unpack the unit. Remove all the labels from the product. Check that it is complete and in a good condition. If the unit is damaged or faulty, do not use it and take it to your retailer or after-sales service centre.

Intended use

• This product has been designed to barbecue meat, seafood, fish and vegetables, and should not be used for any other purpose. It is intended for outdoor use only and may not be used for commercial purposes. Any other use may damage the unit or cause injury.

Product usage

Assembly

NOTE :

• We recommend that you lay out all the barbecue parts next to the assembly area.
• Never use excessive force during assembly or when tightening screws/bolts, as this may damage the product.
• When assembling parts with multiple nuts or bolts, we recommend loosely inserting them first, and then, once that particular section of the barbecue has been assembled, using light pressure to tighten all the hardware.
• Only tighten all the screws once assembly is complete, as any material shrinkage may interfere with the final assembly.

Before first use

• Clean the product ( CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE).
• Place the product on a stable, flat and non-slip surface.

Use

NOTE: Do not use this barbecue unless all parts are in place. The device must be correctly installed according to the assembly manual enclosed leaflet.

Connection to the gas cylinder
Cylinder/regulator

• The gas cylinder (NF compliant for France) can be put on the floor (next to the appliance) or on the bottom shelf/inside the trolley of your appliance (unless otherwise stated on the appliance). Indeed, it is necessary to keep a certain distance between the gas bottle and the burners during use. This is why some low shelves feature a location to put the gas cylinder by keeping a safe distance from the burners. The standard tablets are not suitable because the gas bottle is too close to the heating zone.
• The gas cylinder can be put on the bottom shelf/inside the trolley unless otherwise stated on the appliance and if its dimensions (included regulator) are according to the following drawing:
• If your gas cylinder doesn’t respect the required dimensions, put it on the floor, next to your appliance.
• Use only LPG cylinder.
• Do not obstruct the ventilation openings of the housing of the gas cylinder.
• Do not use a damaged or rusted gas cylinder. In case of damaged, please contact your gas cylinder supplier to make it checked. Do not use a gas cylinder with a damaged valve.
• Use a regulator with safety valve, in compliance with current national regulations (NF for France, BSEN 16129:2013 for other countries) of 37 mbar for Propane or 28-30 mbar for Butane.

Note : For other countries, cylinder and regulator are dependant on the National Situations in countries of destination.

• NEVER USE YOUR PRODUCT WITH CITY GAZ. The gas circuit is produced only for Butane/Propane (G30/G31).
• NEVER USE TOOL TO TIGHTEN THE PRESSURE REGULATOR NUT ON YOUR PRODUCT: it can damage the product. A hand tight is sufficient.

Coupling head

• France: Use the G1/2 threaded gas inlet coupling head on the side or rear of your barbecue.

• Other countries: Use the ringed nozzle supplied as a spare part. Using an appropriate tightening tool (spanner), screw the ringed nozzle firmly onto the G1/2 threaded gas inlet G1/2 coupling head and then make a leakage test (see Leak test).

Supply hose

• For all countries:

Note:

• Replace the main supply hose before its use-by date, if it is damaged, showing signs of cracks, or when required to do so by national regulations. It must be compliant with EN16436-1+A3:2020.
• Do not pull on the hose or kink it.
• Take care that the hose is not twisted or under any strain: the gas inlet coupling head being located on the left side, position the gas cylinder to the left of the appliance.
• Keep the hose away from parts of the appliance liable to become hot.
• Place the gas cylinder at least 1 metre away from the barbecue.
• A supply hose of a length of 1.2m or 1.5m (maximum) must be used for connection to the appliance.

France

1. Use a hose with NF marking and a G1/2 threaded nut to screw onto the appliance, and an M20×1.5 threaded nut onto the regulator, in compliance with Norm XP D 36-125 or Norm XP D 36-112.
2. Screw the G1/2 threaded nut of the hose onto the inlet connection of the appliance and the M20×1.5 threaded nut (in black colour) onto the outlet connection of the regulator, following the instructions supplied with the flexible hose.
3.  Check the gas-tightness of the entire system by making the leakage test (see Leak test).

• Other countries:

1.  Use a flexible hose of a quality suitable for the use of Butane or Propane, in compliance with current national regulations. Connect the hose onto the ringed nozzle already installed on the appliance (see Connection to the gas cylinder), following the instructions supplied with the flexible hose.
2. Check the gas-tightness of the entire system by making the leakage test (see Leak test).

Replacing the gas cylinder
The gas cylinder must be changed in accordance with the following instructions:

• Do not change the cylinder when the appliance is in use (control knobs must be in OFF position (•))
• Wait until the appliance is completely cold
• Carry out replacement well away from any ignition source or heat source
• Replacement must only be carried out outdoors

Before changing the gas cylinder, ensure that its valve is completely closed.

Leak test
It is imperative that you perform a “gas-tightness test”:

• Before using the barbecue for the first time (even if your barbecue has been assembled before purchasing)
• Every time the gas cylinder, hose or regulator is replaced.
• At least once a year, preferably at the beginning of the barbecue season.
• After the appliance has been left stored or unused for a long period of time.

Check that the hose is undamaged and is clear of the lower part of the barbecue.

• Perform leak tests outdoors only and keep away from any combustible materials. Do not smoke.
• Make sure all the control knobs are in «OFF» position (•).
• Make up a soapy solution of 50% washing up liquid and 50% water.
• Screw the regulator onto the gas cylinder.
• Connect the flexible supply hose to the appliance and to the regulator following the instruction (see Connection to the gas cylinder).
• With a paintbrush, apply the mixture to the gas cylinder/regulator/hose/coupling connections to the barbecue.
• Turn on the gas cylinder valve.
• Observe the different gas cylinder/regulator/hose/coupling connections to the barbecue: if bubbles form, this indicates there is a gas leak.
• Turn off the gas cylinder valve.

To correct the leak, tighten the nuts and perform the test again.
If a part is faulty, get it replaced. The appliance must not be used until the leak is corrected. Should the problem continue, contact your dealer or a gas appliance technician.

Important: Never use a flame to check for a gas leak.

Lighting the appliance

IMPORTANT before operation
Do not operate the appliance before you have carefully read and understood all the instructions. In addition, make sure that:

• the entire unit [cylinder/regulator/hose/appliance] is not leaking
• there is no blockage in the burners (venturi tube) and/or injectors (e.g. spiders’ webs)
• the supply hose is not damaged or past its use-by date, and is not touching any of the parts of the appliance that may become hot or sharp
• that the burners are connected correctly to the injectors by the orifice intended for this purpose.

Lighting of main burners

IMPORTANT: for barbecue models with hood, light the barbecue with the HOOD OPEN. Never light the appliance with the hood down.
For other models, remove the barbecue lid before lighting, and place it behind the main body of the appliance on the notch supplied for this purpose, in order to form a windbreak during cooking or put it on the floor. Never light the appliance with the lid down.

Automatic lighting

1. Remove the lid (open the hood) and make sure that all the knobs are in the “OFF” 1. Remove the lid (open the hood) and make sure that all the knobs are in the “OFF”
2. Turn on the gas cylinder valve
3. Push on the left knob and rotate to the “CLICK” in order to ignite the 1st burner.
4. In the same way, continue to light the other burners proceeding from left to right.
5. If one or more burners fail to ignite after steps 2 and 3, turn the knob to the “OFF” position and repeat the operation 2 or 3 times.
6. If one or more burners still fail to ignite, shut off the gas supply, wait 5 minutes for the gas to clear and repeat steps 2 and 3 or light the burners with a commercial lighter (see Lighting of side burner).

Manual lighting:

• Should automatic lighting fail to work, place all the control knobs on “OFF” (•). Place a lit match or a commercial lighter close to the burner ports, and then turn the control knob to the high position (represented by a large flame symbol).
• Should one or more burners fail to light after several attempts at automatic and/or manual lighting, check that the burners and/or injectors are not blocked.

Lighting of side burner

• IMPORTANT: make sure to open the side burner hood before lighting it. Never let the side burner hood closed during lighting or using of side burner. The side burner is designed for pan with a diameter from 10 to 22cm. Make sure to respect these dimensions.

Automatic lighting:

1. Open and make sure that the knob is in the “OFF” position (•) (push the knob and turn it in the direction of clockwise to the stop)
2. Turn on the gas cylinder valve
3. Push on the knob and rotate to the “CLICK” in order to ignite the burner.
4. If the burner fail to ignite after steps 2 and 3, turn the knob to the “OFF” position and repeat the operation 2 or 3 times.
5. If the burner still fail to ignite, shut off the gas supply, wait 5 minutes for the gas to clear and repeat steps 2 and 3 or light the burner with a commercial lighter (see §D2). Do not put anything on the hood of side burner. Only put stuff on the right side shelf.

Manual lighting:

• Should automatic lighting fail to work, place control knob on “OFF” (•). Place a lit match or a commercial lighter close to the burner port, and then turn the control knob to the high position (represented by a large flame symbol).
• Should one or more burners fail to light after several attempts at automatic and/or manual lighting, check that the burner and/or injector are not blocked.

Extinguishing the appliance

1. Return all the knobs to the “OFF” position (•) (push the knob and turn it in the direction of clockwise to the stop)
2. Turn off the gas cylinder valve.
3. Wait until the appliance is completely cold before replacing the lid (depending on model).

Preheating/ Commissioning the appliance

IMPORTANT: It is imperative that you perform the leak test before using the appliance for the first time (see Leak test).
Before using the appliance for the first time, we recommend that you heat your appliance «blind» (i.e. without food) for 30 minutes on the highest setting with all the accessories. This may cause some odour and/or smoke emissions due to the carbonisation of material residues. Wait until the appliance is completely cold, clean with water and a soft cloth, and then lightly oil the cooking surfaces.

Cooking
For barbecues equipped with a plancha: lightly oil the cooking surface to prevent food sticking.
For barbecues with hood: there are 2 possible cooking modes:

• Traditional grilling with the hood open.
• Oven-type grilling with the hood closed: ideal for large cuts of meat.

WARNING! For traditional grilling like grilled sausages.do not close the cover.
This type of food gives off a lot of fat and oven-type grilling is not suitable.
Tip: To facilitate cleaning of the grease drawer, we advise you to line its surface with a sheet of aluminum foil, to be thrown away after each use once the appliance is completely cold.
If fat get burn, turn down the intensity of the heat to low and move the food to a cooler area. NEVER USE WATER TO TURN OFF THE FLAMES IN A GAS BARBECUE.

Cleaning and maintenance

Cleaning and storage

• Wait until the barbecue is completely cold.
• For hygiene and safety reasons: carefully clean your appliance and all its accessories (including the grease drawer) after each use, using hot soapy water and a soft non-abrasive cloth, in order to remove grease residue and using a soft non-abrasive cloth. Dry and oil cast iron surfaces.

WARNING! For barbecues equipped with a front panel, it may be necessary to remove it in order to take the grease drawer for cleaning.

To clean the plancha:

• never use scouring or abrasive objects or detergents. To remove cooked-on grease and meat juices efficiently, deglaze it just after cooking (the cooking plancha must be hot):
• Switch off the appliance, wear suitable protective gloves against the heat of the plancha, and throw a small quantity of water on the surface to be cleaned. Be careful of the heat produced by the steam. Remove any residue with a spatula in the slit in the plancha. Finish cleaning with a soft sponge. Dry and lightly oil. You can replace the water by vinegar on a warm cooking plancha.

To clean the side shelves:

• clean these parts after each use, using hot soapy water and a soft non-abrasive cloth. Rinse and dry.
• The side shelves do not be use as cutting board.
• Do not clean the grills/planchas or accessories in a self-cleaning oven: you risk damaging them.
• Protect the appliance (after disconnecting from the gas cylinder) with a cover during warm weather and then store it in a cool and dry place.
• Turn off the gas cylinder valve after each use.
• Disconnect the gas cylinder when the appliance is not in frequent use. Check that the gas cylinder valve has been properly turned off.
• Store the gas cylinder in a dry, well-ventilated location, out of the reach of children and away from any combustible source. Do not store the gas cylinder in a cellar or basement.
• WARNING! Propane should only be stored outdoors, in a cool, dark place.
• Butane and Propane gas cylinders must not be place near or under the radiation of a heat source. Disconnected gas cylinders must be kept turned off, even when presumed empty, in a ventilated area.

Maintenance
To maximise the life of your barbecue, we recommend that you:Clean all cooking surfaces after each use.

• Do not leave your barbecue out in the rain; do not allow water to stagnate on the cooking surfaces, the trays of the grease drawer: risk of deterioration and/or premature corrosion.
• Oil cast iron cooking surfaces to prevent rust.
• Frequent cleaning of the burner allows it to remain in good condition for numerous times of use and prevents premature oxidation (acid residues from grilled food).
• Oxidation of the burner is nevertheless a normal occurrence over time and an oxidised burner that works does not need replacing.
• Replacement is only necessary if it is not working properly despite the instructions of this manual having been followed.

WARNING! After a long storage period, check that the burners (venturi tubes) are not blocked by insects: risk of fire or flame flashback. If necessary, clean the inside of the burners (venturi tubes) with a pipe cleaner.

• Damage caused by fat fires is not covered by the warranty.

Troubleshooting

IMPORTANT :

• NEVER DISMANTLE THE GAS RAMP
• FITTED INTO THE BARBECUE (located behind the front control panel)
• NOR THE VALVES OR INJECTORS

Storage

WARNING!

• Butane and Propane gas cylinders should only be stored outdoors, in a cool, dry place, and away from direct sunlight.
• Gas cylinder must not be place near or under the radiation of a heat source. Disconnected gas cylinders must be kept turned off, even when presumed empty, in a ventilated area.
• Before storing the unit, ensure that it has cooled, cleaned and dried thoroughly.
• Turn off the gas cylinder valve after each use. Disconnect the gas cylinder from the unit when the unit will not be use for a long time.
• Store the gas cylinder in a dry, well-ventilated location, out of the reach of children and away from any combustible source. Do not store the gas cylinder in a cellar or basement.
• Protect the unit (after disconnecting from the gas cylinder) with a cover during warm weather.
• Store the appliance in a cool, dry place.

WARRANTY CONDITIONS

This product is guaranteed against faults caused by defects in manufacturing or the materials used for a period of two years, starting from the date of purchase. This warranty does not cover defects or damage caused by failure to install the device correctly, incorrect use of the product, or excessive wear and tear.
